The key is that the entire population of Tibet is only over 3 million. If Indians don’t believe it, they can check it out. China as a whole is far more expensive than neighboring countries and Southeast Asia. Much richer.

I will be on this train in August. I was very much hesitant about booking my trip to Tibet, especially taking my 78 years old mom with me. I am so worried about getting the altitude sickness, especially my mom, but she insisted. She really wanted to go and see Tibet. Did you experience any altitude sickness while you were in Tibet though? I already bought supplements recommended by my tour guide, she told me to take those like 5 days before boarding the train, she said it would help. But I saw people buy cans of oxygen and bring them to Tibet. Do you have any idea where to get those? We will arrive in Xining and go directly to railway station to board the train. I am wondering if they sell those in train station and how much are they a can? I don't think I can find those cans sold in my country since I live in a tropical country
