    Storage... If not using your bike for a few days or longer, try to have the battery level about 50%, then charge immediately before your next ride (that way your battery never sits at 100%). Also, ideally, store the bike at room temperature - if not practical to have your bike inside, take only the battery inside when not using the bike for a few days or longer.

    Lock out your front suspension if not going off road helps with range.

    Great tips there. I find the best way to extend the range is to use the power assistance judiciously...I've been able to get around 140km range from a battery that's rated by the manufacturer at 30-80km, and I'm not a super fit/regular rider

      Woah that’s insane range! What sort of settings do you use most? As you say, out of all the steps you can take, riding judiciously is defo where you get the most range

      @@sidebusinessbloke I mostly keep mine on lowest setting or 2 ( out of 5) and just head into 3 or 4 for the hillier bits...not wanting to blow my own trumpet 😜, but I did a series of range test videos on it here: th-cam.com/video/kv7WAGmBBkQ/w-d-xo.html

    For #1, believe it or not, I put Catazer SOLID ebike tires and rolling resistance is practically zero. They feel like riding on the rim, though. Takes getting used to but NEVER a flat.

    On a car, the wider the tyre the more fuel you use so i suppose it must be the same for a bike..

    • @sidebusinessbloke
      @sidebusinessbloke  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea makes sense. Thinner tyres are faster (easier to power) but you sacrifice a bit of comfort and obviously the ability to ride of road

    Using the 25% to 75% range and not letting it drain below 25% and just charging to 75% will add significant life . We don’t want to hear that either . Science!

      @sidebusinessbloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s probably tricky to find reviews of imports because reviewers can’t just borrow them from a shop or wholesaler to do a review, it relies on reviewers actually purchasing them. Maybe you should do one 😃

    Another thing that makes me laugh is, people ask how much range will I get etc.
    IT'S A BIKE THAT IS PEDAL POWERED! The range is unlimited. As much as you can pedal. 😂😂😂

    • @sidebusinessbloke
      @sidebusinessbloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, modern e-bikes aren’t too heavy so are fine to be ridden like regular bikes. Infinite range! 😃

    Do the batteries not have tech in them where they shut off the charging?
    Modern smart phones have it.

    • @sidebusinessbloke
      @sidebusinessbloke  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think they’re as advanced as phones. I don’t know the exact science but all manuals etc say stop charging when full. Also can be a bit of a hazard to leave on charge all the time.

    • @sidebusinessbloke
      @sidebusinessbloke  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey mate, I’m hesitant to recommend a particular brand but ones that are based in Australia, ideally with a physical store in Australia and provide a good warranty is a good place to start. Importing one will be cheaper but you’ll have to deal with any issues yourself. Bafang motors are not bad for the budget end of the scale.
