    No explanation required - well videoed but just a note of caution to folks about taking care as you remove the back panel.
    1) Use a very sharp object to initially prise open the panel.
    2) You need to be careful about the amount of force to use. Too little and nothing happens, too much and you may damage the case so be careful as this part of the procedure is the most difficult but with patience and resolve can be accomplished in a few minutes (less than 10)

      Thank you so much Fin, I never use any sharp metal tools to open the back panels and i use plastic prying tool or a sharp plastic objects that wouldn't damage the laptop or break the clips.

      @@ModiAdams Thanks Modi - do you have a brand name for the supplier of the prying tool. I upgraded my Lenovo this morning and everything went well without a single snag, only the learning curve associated with how much pressure to apply to the rear panel removal operation. Cheers, F

    Hi Modi, Thanks for the video, I have the same 330 laptop with 2tb hdd and 8 gb RAM.
    My question is
    1. I use heavy software like android studio and it runs very much slow and takes around 6-7 gb of ram. Do you suggest only ssd upgrade or both ssd and ram upgrade? And if you suggest RAM upgrade is it possible for this model?
    2. Should i replace hdd with ssd or is it good to keep hdd with ssd?

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hello Pravin, You are welcome :) and you should definitely upgrade to an SSD with your desired capacity, 240, 500 or even 1TB. and i don't think that such a model can have more than 8GB of ram since it's a Celeron N4000 CPU as i remember. such a low-end CPU would be a bottle-neck on the system no matter how much RAM you have got. 8GB of RAM is alright, and you can install the SSD and drop the 2TB HDD in a USB-Rack or a DVD Caddy in stead of the optical drive if yours has one.

    Brother, I really appreciate your replies. You are giving replies to repeated question too. But mine is a different problem which is not listed in any comment.
    I have a problem with HDD adding to DVD slot. Actually mine was 2TB HDD model IdeaPad 330. It has a dummy DVD closed slot. The local shop guy said, as it is not a real DVD slot, we can't close this after adding the HDD by caddy. It will be kept open. Is that true?? Can't we close after adding the caddy? Also he said, actually there should be a whole to fit the caddy screw. Since there is no screw hole, and can't close, the HDD will come out of it. Is that correct? Lengthy question. But please help me

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are welcome bro! and well, if your laptop came with a dummy DVD and doesn't have an actual DVD, then you can remove the whole back of the laptop and check if it does have a real SATA3 slot inside at the place of the DVD, if so, then you can install a DVD-HDD Caddy and close it with no problem. But if there is no SATA3 slot inside, then it's useless to install a HDD Caddy.

      I had a few different versions of the 330s, and it supported the NVMe SSD. By the way, you probably already know that the NVMe SSD's are lightning fast, at around 1,000 read and write speeds. I never experienced anything nearly as fast as a laptop with one of those in it.

      In general laptop's CPUs aren't upgradable, some people do it but it's not recommended as it's not meant to be upgraded. only RAM, Storage and Wi-Fi.

      The lower-end your CPU is, the more crucial is to get an SSD to get the overall performance much faster. although i said before, no matter what machine you are using, SSD is a must.
