Kuga, thank you for showing the world the marvels of the L. There is a way to take the train in a complete circle around the loop. Chicago is also known for its architecture, and riding the L around the loop is a very unique way to view the buildings. When friends visited me there, I always took them for a ride on the L. I am so happy that you are enjoying your trip to America. Trains are a great way to actually see the country. Its such a big place. And happy New Year!

Basically, you showed the world what most Chicago riders take for granted. Chi is a train city. I hope you did venture into the subway. You haven't experienced loud until a subway ride. Your "friend" probably hipped you to decent areas and times to ride. The green line bridge between 59th and 63rd street, over Dan Ryan expressway, you would have loved. I visited Tokyo in 08 and 13 and trust me, you win on cleanliness and safety. Your cinematography is outstanding!! Sears Tower over the bean.

Thank you for coming to Chicago and riding our "L." I've lived in Chicago 63 years (my whole life) and have traveled every CTA rail line. I know that you are a genuine railfan because, like me, you're fascinated by the complex trackwork. (Something that's hard for non-railfans to understand) Thanks also for putting in Roosevelt University - located at 1:40 during the presentation on the left - where I received my bachelor's degree enabling me to teach music for 25 years in the CPS system. I've also traveled every Amtrak route in the 🇺🇸United States and all the sleeper trains in 🇨🇦Canada. My only other noteworthy international trip was a round trip from 🇬🇧London to 🇨🇵Paris on Eurostar. Rail Travel is what initially drew me to your channel. Perhaps I will one day be blessed to travel to the land of the rising sun 🇯🇵 and ride the wonderful trains in your videos. I ❤️Love❤️ the way you selected the 🍊orange🍊 line for your travels as that's the way I travel home from my rail adventures. I live near Midway 🛫Airport but actually reside 100 feet from Amtrak's current route to St. Louis. I can watch all the trains pass daily. Perhaps one day you'll take the Texas🦅Eagle to San Antonio or ride the through sleeper to Los Angeles - my favorite trip and Amtrak's longest sleeping car trip. Let me know and I'll wave as you pass my house. I also have a few model train videos on this site - nothing great, just something I do once a month to share my ❤Love❤️ of trains. I also love the way you are thankful and appreciative of the blessings you have been given! May you continue to be blessed!!! Sincerely, Nathan in Chicago 🇺🇲

It definitely looks 1890s. Still, I like it. I fly into Midway and take the orange line into the loop, and never have to set foot into a road vehicle. There are far too few cities in the US where you can do that.

Just an FYI (at the risk of being nitpicky), you cannot ride an Orange Line train from Adams/Wabash to Clark/Lake because once the Orange Line leaves Adams/Wabash, it leaves the Loop heading back towards Midway Airport. Without walking and still going clockwise, you would need to take a Purple Line train one stop (or walk) to Library/State/Van Buren and then transfer to an Orange line from there.
    That said, great video!

While I definitely agree that the Diamond Crossing on the Chicago L is fascinating, Broadway Junction in Brooklyn, New York is on a whole other level, literally. We're talking about what roughly looks like 3 to 5 levels of train tracks accumulating at one location, the A, C, L, J, and Z trains respectively, with the A and C trains remaining underground and the L, J, and Z trains above ground.
All the while there's the East New York Yard in the northern portion of the junction that has trains weaving their way up to the elevated track. I've never been to this station myself, so part of what I'm saying might be incorrect. But the overall scale of this station alone is insane. Now I know that New York's subway system is the prettiest site to behold in some areas, but you feel the history that the entire system has stood the test of time and it's crazy that it's still able to function after years of neglect.

    この日本でいうところのゆりかもめと路面電車を合わせたような感覚がたまらない。

I stayed 2 nights in Chicago. Although I stayed 2 blocks from the nearest el, the screeching noise as the trains made a right angle turn was more than a bit audible. Definitely could have used a white noise generator and earplugs.

Beautiful skyscrapers and this extremly old, slow and loud metro. What`s wrong in the US, that this is one of it`s best public transport systems?
