      Sorry for the delay Ray been super busy. Thanks for the nice comments buddy. Funny you mention the "Catching is a bonus" heh. That is indeed my tough point with fishing. I don't do boredom well at all. The other side of the coin when the bite is on or a GOOD day, man such a thrill (outside of it not being so pleasant for the fish, always bothersome). Thanks again... honor having you watching or perhaps enjoying the Fishing Vids.

    If bank fishing, i suggest fishing in the sherman island county park, ($7) many good areas to fish, outgoing tide, best bait to use are mudsuckers (if you can get a hold of them) everywhere else are "snag city"..I've fished many years off bank and boat near there and never disappoints..hope that helps

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725

      Does a Bear S... in the woods? Heck yeah it helps! Part that gets me "I've fished many years off bank and boat" and so on. To me that's a statement! Less you fish it once a year heh. When we heard about it, people spoke of the good fishing. No one bothered to mention it's a Rig Graveyard. Time for scuba gear eh? We'll look into that Sherman Island county park! Still rocky shorelines? Thanks again, hope others will find this useful also!!

    The key to fishing there is only fishing 1 hr before and after a tide change, where current is minimal. Use a small weight, and big hook with a huge chunk of sardine. This avoids a lot of snags, and avoid a lot of dinks. The super hot spot is with a boat, out about 50-100 yards in front of you, in about 25-30 ft depth. In early Nov, you'll pull mostly 20"+ all day long.

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You know glad you mentioned the tides. It's one thing we don't do. Normally cause we only have certain times we can fish. At times it's long enough to go through 2 tide changes. None the less, thanks again taken to heart. Reminds me my father an extremely avid Hunter/Fisherman use to research tides ALL the time. Every night before and morning of. What size weight you referring to? We were using 3oz & 4oz. As we have no boat do you think Keepers can be caught frequently enough from Shore, in that location? Noted about the 50-100 yards....thanks!

      @@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 Although, I've never caught anything there keeper sized from the bank, I've seen plenty people that do. With a boat, 2nd week of Nov. to early Dec. I'll C&R 20+ keepers in a 4 hr window during tide change.
      I didn't know anything about tides prior to getting a boat. Those fish are ridiculous. Seems like they are lazy and won't touch bait when the tide is strong. The magic time for me, even from the boat is about 1 hr before top of the tide and one hour after.
      The smaller weight just keeps you from snagging the rocks. During tide change, you can even get away with a 1 oz. Try that and no larger than 12 lbs test line. Chuck it out as far as you can. With a slack tide, your bait should stay put. Use a big bait (sardine cut in 3 pieces) and don't pick up on small bites. Wait till you get a big bite to avoid dinks.

Trying to display the fishing days with some entertainment added in. As for the giants, too sweet! We've done with some species, while others (Stripers) only pulled up a few keepers. Been Striper fishing about 2 1/2 years now. We've heard many ideas on hooking into them, some info is similar while other conflicts. Ur casting is not far enough. Just listening to how long the line spools out on ur cast I can tell that ur barely hitting the 30-50 yd mark. Ur bait is sitting in shallow water hence why ur constantly hooking dinks. You’ll need to use a surf type setup to chuck it out there. OR you can use the drone method Or get the rc boat method for long distance bait delivery with a short rod

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Noted, though some of those casts were further than they seemed, and not all casts were caught on film. None the less I'd agree with you. I gave an explanation to another person. Just so I wouldn't have to type it twice. But explains why some came up short. We're considering a drone, but not for that reason. It can be done by casting. Always wanted to race some RC's! Not to take my bait out though.
