they look so young, like kids, and I think lots of them won't like Annapolis or the Navy, many will resign

      What makes you say that?

Um.. USNA has a 90% graduation rate. I’m also a plebe here at the moment, and a lot of the people in this video are seniors now. I actually know a few personally. They will be graduating this spring going marines aviation and even seals. I’ll let them know you were their biggest fan all these years lol….

@@heamijones they have a high graduation rate because it's so selective. So few applicants get in. Life after the Academy in the fleet, on deployments, and possibly in combat is the real challenge. The job offers service academy grads can get once their 5 yrs. are done are amazing. The military cannot compete with six figure salaries, stable home life etc. I knew 4 guys who went long ago. None made it beyond 2 yrs. Years ago it was an engineering program only. Today that has changed. You can select a different major. I tried out in 74, was an alternate no. 6 out of ten. I'm thankful now I never was chosen. My brother, retired Navy in 2001, spent 20 yrs. in Japan running a listening post. Glad he got home alive, as senior chief, he did well, but he married after he left in his 40s. He told me marriage and Navy life aren't a good mix too often.
I can see it was not for me. If you make it, you can launch a great career in many fields -- ie. politics, Fed. service, law, etc. Staying in the Navy is hard when you have so many options. That is why many will leave after 5 yrs. Good luck and wish you well.
