The thing is, his car even in stock form could beat them. Don't know about Roman's car but the Lancer Evo has the quickest 0-6- and 1/4 mile time there at 4.7 seconds and 14.1 1/4 mile.The Yenko Camaro was only 0-60 in 5.4 and 13.8. He would catch up if the Evo was stock which it clearly isn't
We can not forget about the part when roman eclipse used his nasa tested nitro to catch the 70 challenger and force him to cheat XD and im the only one that thinks the eclipse sounded like a subaru... kind of .....
@@sharpemang 2 things wrong here: this is more than a quarter mile. the evo runs out of gearing because it's geared for torque. And 2 the movie heavily implies that brian is worried because he knows the american cars' stock specs and those arent stock.

but you do realize that ET for the Yenko was on pizza cutter tires right? put a set of street slicks and see what it would run, also the "Yenko" was modified, headers are visible under the car when its on the hoist at Tejs garage, it is not a real Yenko car, its a clone, plus they had more than one of each cars
The evo is also not geared for 1/4 mile when both the challenger and camaro are, also AWD isn't useful in a straight line at high speeds, robs more power than a RWD car

honestly the movie wasn't ever really about racing mainly... It just kind of took up the mantle when the whole vibe truly was (I know it's a meme but bare with me) about family, action, and cars in general. That's why they keep bringing in these amazing expensive cars throughout the movies. But yea the racing in it was nice.

Man, Brian was a master when it came to shifting for more power. The guy used up all of 4th gear and needed more power so he downshifted to 3rd to win the race.

Absolutely love this scene and although they both cheated Brian’s form of cheating gives me goosebumps every time. Playing chicken with the Camaro knowing he had nothing to lose gives me chills lol. Also the fact that Brian knew he wasn’t getting the power he needed to finish the race and then downshifted from 4th gear to 3rd gear was absolute genius
