"Ralf seemed disturbed by Fernando's solo but did it open up a new road for Kraftwerk to travel down?? Absolutely. Then Ralf quickly went back to their more disciplined approach to their music..but now Wolfgang Flur and Karl Bartos are doing some very interesting pieces of their own and it makes one wonder what Kraftwerk would sound like if they stayed"
Don't really get why some people are so anti innovation with this live freestyling version of the song. It's fine and obviously it worked out for the band as they figured out what artistic and musical direction they wanted to head in after the 80's. Namely, a more methodical song structure instead of a complex techno feel. You can argue this not as well polished as their stuff today, but if Ralf and Florian never looked for new talent outside themselves then Kraftwerk probably wouldn't have been as special as it is to all of us now.
Ridiculous bullshit comment :/ you obviously have no understanding of the greatness of Jimi Hendrix, but getting overexcited on the sampler for a minute while completely out of sync with the track and the show, does not equate to being some sort of Hendrix equivalent .. your erstwhile hero lasted about 5 minutes in the greatest electronic group ever, and has achieved pretty much nothing of note without them; so no, not so much.
After this concert, Ralf fired Fernando. Kraftwerk are robots, not a show. Fernando's show was crap, ruining the meaning of the song. One can feel Ralf's discomfort. Fernando sabotaged his part, doing any crap with the samples.
I was there amazing that someone filmed this as it’s not like these days with phones !lovely seeing it thank you whoever put it on

This is, by far, the best live rendition of this song. They should have kept Abrantes and used it as a chance to better evolve their sound.
I like what Abrantes did there. It sounds pretty cool, maybe to cool for Ralf. If time travels were possible, I'd visit this concert/show.
Actually Fernando left himself
I was there , it was a fantastic night
Fernando's solo is simply incredible, stealing the show. Awesome use of the voice samples.
Master Fernando.
After this interpretation of Abrantes was sure would get in trouble ......... that is very good.
Muy bueno lo de Fernando, a mi me parecio buenisima esa parte :)

No, he's the Freddie Mercury of Kraftwerk.
@@KanalvogtSG Yes. Freddie is more of a vocal guy. And, the samples are TTS vocals, I believe.
