I would say the storm surge was not measurable, maybe 6 inches. I don’t really consider it a surge here unless the water from Boca Ciega Bay is communicating with the water in the streets. That means the bay water has gone up and over the levy formed by the beach parking lot. That never happened during this storm. All that water was fresh water running down to bay. Idalia was a solid 3ft based off my measurements and other imperial evidence so I had a good base to measure from. This storm maybe brought about 6” of rain to us here in St. Pete, Gulfport, Pasadena, although we do not get the daily rain fall like communities just north and just east and just south east of us lol. Sunshine city baby!! Got that record! The wind was pretty incredible right on the water during the storm. I wasn’t at my house during the peek even but it is only about 300ft inland from the boat show. There were definitely some gust in the 60-70 range but mostly a steady 20-30 knots with 50ish blast a few times a minute. This southern tip of Pinellas faces directly south and these storms just bring that steady onshore wind that does a number on the place. Thanks for watching - Jason
