We hope you enjoyed the game! Please don't post spoilers in the comments :) Did we mess up any rules? Well, we might have, we play games to have fun after all. Here's a few little mistakes and questions that people haven noticed so far: "You can't use a Command Re-roll for Morale tests!" You're right! You can only force an auto-pass with Insane Bravery for 2CP. Would it have changed the course of the game? Always a possibility. Were those "illegal" rolls entertaining though? YES! Don't forget to play for fun! "You called the Plaguebearers "Poxwalkers" sometimes. How do you plead?" GUILTY. "Disgustingly Resilient doesn't work like that anymore!" If this was Death Guard, you'd be right, but these Nurgle Daemons are using their 8th edition codex in this game, so we did it right. "... but you still can't use a Command Re-roll for Disgustingly Resilient saves!" You are correct, but I failed that one anyway, no harm done, I'm just an idiot ;) "You forgot about some "to hit/to wound" re-rolls" Yes. We did most of them, but when there are so many re-rolls, it's hard to keep track. Also, sometimes we did them in the game, but didn't narrate them. Toward the end, we stopped narrating all the minutiae of each roll to keep the pace of the video nice and tight.
Guy fought with his poxwalkers then his nurglings. After the mawloc had fought then Guy should have only been able to fight with one unit before the genestealers, not two. Also prettying certain you can’t advance when you fall back
@@TheOriginalDruidfish not true. All genestealer and broodlord units have that, regardless of hive fleet. Kraken is roll three pick the highest for advance, and the ability to charge after falling back
The only bad thing about this series is the wait in between battles. Seriously its great to watch, short and to the point coupled with some great edits to cut out the fluff makes for a great watching experience
This series is honestly such a refreshment from the normal battle reports on youtube. Nice and short, brilliantly concise and well spoken commentary. Yeah, when the series was first announced, as a DE player I was like "We won't make it past round 1. Wyches suck". Sufficient to say that 9th has changed a few things...
Nurglings' unique version of disgustingly resilient ("squishable") was FAQ'd to not work against mortal wounds. So that turn 1 Smite from the Broodlord would have just done all three wounds.
The FAQ didn't change anything. It just clarified it. Nurgling Disgustingly Resilient only works with *attacks* with a *damage characteristic* of 1. Yes!! Clear explanations and great quality as usual. A couple mistake I did notice: You can’t advance when you fall back. Did this with the plague drones After all charging units have attacked, you alternate units to attack starting with the player who’s turn it is. I think a few times you started with the other player. I’m sure none of this affected the game. I love this series keep them coming!
There were plenty of errors that absolutely would have impacted the game, in my opinion. #1 of these is not being able to CP re-roll morale. Nurglings should have fled Turn 1. No Nurglings blocking the Genestealers on their first turn would have made for a different game. A Plague Drone should have fled similarly at one point. Plague Drones advancing and charging gave them almost 20" of movement, the ability to fight, and positioning to block the Genestealers, all of which shouldn't have been able to happen in a single turn.
I think what makes theses battle reports so enjoyable, and I believe unique to this channel, is that we've seen almost every step of the hobby journey that brought it all together, from the creation of the lovely arena to the sexy cabochon eyed nurgle demons. When you say that the video took 30-40 hours to make, it's only half the truth, because in reality it's been a journey going back more than 8 months that we've all shared in. Hats off to that Mr Guy!
This is how battle reports are done. I also love seeing how the board gets more character after each encounter (blood spatter, evidence of explosions, etc.). I look forward to this series continuing!
Omg so excited for this, just started the hobby last month and tyranids are my favorite race. Can't wait to see the start collecting boxed set in action.
Fantastic series! Love all of these. The Mawloc is so underwhelming. The Trygon or T-prime are both really good since points changes and that kit builds into any of those!
Every start collecting game, could you tell us how many points each army is? It'd be easier then going into battlescribe myself and finding the points afterwards.
Pretty hollow victory for Nurgle Daemons given all the rules mistakes were in their favour. Without the nurglngs holding up the genestealers for an extra turn, there's a very good chance the plaguebearers don't survive past turn 2. Even more so given the plague drones shouldn't be advancing and charging, so the plague bearers would have eaten another round of attacks. And once the plague bearers are dead it's mop up time for the 'nids.
This is my problem with this exactly. There were some errors on both sides, but in aggregate Nurgle was disproportionately advantaged over Tyranids. The most severe errors greatly benefited them. It should not have even been close. Even fun games should be fair.
With only 2 of those plaguebearers left it was a waste casting miasma of pestilence. Wouldve been better to pump out some extra mortal wounds on the mawloc to get it off that objective. seriously - your battlereports are by far the best battlereport format out there. And this tournament is even netter. Love the setting - Maybe I will build one myselfe one day :)
Looking forward for the next battle since I just started drukhari and got myself one of the last statt collecting boxes!
Have a nice weekend!
Thankyou for another amazing video, me and my friend have been waiting for this one and are so happy!!
Love this content! Hope the rest of the tourney comes around soon
God these battle reports are always so amazing. Well done mate.
This series has got me back into painting every time a new video comes out
Yay Ant is back. As well as more battle reports! These make me happy
Been so looking forward to another one of these. Great content, please keep them coming.
The battle damage added to the map after each round is an incredible touch. Love the explosion scorch from that spider exploding in the previous ep.
Thanks for the match Guy! Looking forward to the next one!
I have a question:
As an Ork player (Evil Suz it is) I'm gonna have myself a Warboss with his own lore and story.
The question is - Guy, do you have some of YOUR Ork characters in your huge Waaagh! ? Any chance you can do a show and tell video?
I'd like to make an Ork army showcase video soon!
Hahaha, what a story mark
Yesssss! Finally...! Another tournament report! Can't wait for the next one. Hope it wont take as long of waiting as this, but still worth it
I absolutely adore these! Keep 'em coming, you know, such that you can mom and dad of twins in the Nurgling of the Empire.
The only batreps I watch all the way through, love this content!
Only GW could make a monster as cool and terrifying looking as a Mawloc, whose sole purpose is to get up close and personal and wreck shit in CC......and then give it a degrading 4+ WS.
Really well done format, looking forward to the next game already!
I've been looking forward to this video, really like these start collecting battles.
It's a monster mash! Fantastic series all around, can't wait for the next installment!
I'm really not a big fan of battle reports. But ... here I sit, nearly 45 minutes later and thinking: Wait, what, it's already over?
I love a good bracket! This is such a nifty idea for a tournament. Maybe when this one concludes, you can come up with another excuse to run a tournament. Great work as always!
I love this series! And those are some phenomenal paint jobs on both armies!
YAAAAAAASSSSSSSS. ITS BACK!!!! I’ve been waiting for sooooo long! Love the intro love this content! MORRRRRREEEE
Amazing game! Very tight!
I am currently painting this Nurgle start collecting box and I am glad it can do something :)
Ive been rewatching and greatly enjoying these battles but this one was just pure ptsd from the memories of disgustingly resilient
