    I recently discovered Macstitch. Absolutely love this program. And yes! I see that you can work in layers.. but how do I add new layer?

    Thank you so much for this super informative video! Your designs are precious, and as a newbie designer, I greatly appreciate the tips for using this software. I have been on the fence about downloading Mac Stitch and have found very little answers to my questions regarding the capabilites of the program... So thank you for finally having answered them! I appreciate it so much!

    Thank you it was great to see how a designer goes about designing a pattern from a drawing in a sketch book to the computer hope to see that pattern one day.
    I have always wanted to ask a designer this question so please do not take this question the wrong way.
    Do you as a designer stitch your patterns or do you have some one else stitch them. The reason I asked is some designer put a lot off confetti in there patterns or they put a colour in a pattern that uses 2 or 3 stitches for that colour only. And a designer has forgotten how frustrated it get to stitch a lot of confetti stitches especially in full coverage pattern.

      Sharon Littlefield I hear you! I’m not a fan of confetti stitching, patterns where there are 100s of colors etc. I stitch the majority of my own models (I have a few friends that stitch for me too, otherwise I just couldn’t keep up!). In my patterns, I try to limit the number of colors I use, keeping the palette fun and bright, and keep the designs as easy to stitch as possible :)

    How many hours or days would you say that it takes you from first starting a drawing or idea until computer completion?

    • @TinyModernist
      @TinyModernist  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MomStuff it depends on the design...some ideas rattle around in my head for awhile before I even start sketching. Some are much quicker. Usually it takes about 3 days, one to sketch, one to do the initial computer design, and then I usually come back the next day to do some finishing touches. After the pattern has been tested (stitched up), I export it into Illustrator and do all the pretty layout stuff :)

    Thank you Cheryl so much for showing the design process. I’ve been interested in designing my own pieces for cross stitch and wasn’t sure how to graph my design. I have a MacBook as well. I’ll have to look into the program you use. Thank you again for showing the flosstube community! I love learning new techniques! Excited to see how you stitch next! Your use of color and hearing about your favorites was really interesting to me! Everything you design is so cute!!! I’ve had a lot of people interested in the biscornu I’m stitching I tried sending them your way. I wish you luck and continued success in your designing cross stitch business 💕Tifa
