Great tips, especially number 1 (and 7)! It's very important to be aware of how much pressure you're applying, because there's a real risk that you'll tense up your muscles and won't be able to play fast or accurately. I'm guessing... Having awareness of how we're playing is very important.
You are correct! Learning guitar is much more about your brain (relaxing, awareness, etc.) than it is our muscles. Muscle memory but with a big emphasis on MEMORY 😊
Interessting set of tips ! I need to mention this, because it's my biggest fear and problem on the guitar; and i'd like to know if there is a better, and more fun way to approach that; and it's..... The rhythm and the metronome.... THIS..... Is my biggest frustration, fear and nightmare. For the context; like i told you, i came back to the guitar for a year now; and in my life so far i've quite 4 times... I'm 27 ! And the last time i did quite, it was because of the monotony of the practicing AND of the metronome frustration and boredom and robotic playing ! Do you have ideas and suggestions to make rhythm in general more fun and exciting ? Because just the idea of strumming and talking about rhythm, makes me lost my mind :/ ! By the way, i CAN be groovy if i'm playing somthing i like; notes the insipre my ears for exemple, i like to transcribe video game music and non guitar music, by ear of course ! I'm really not a fan of playing a complet song, most of the time it bored me to hell ! Because i'm extremly picky with what song i like to begin with XD I general i like what you are showing on your channel !
Thanks! There’s a few things you can do to make Metronome work more fun. The first thing would be to make games out of it. Were you actually changing where the Metronome is clicking. Like only on two and four. Using a drum machine can help a lot as well. Playing with an actual drum groove is a lot more fun than just a clicking box. Using an app like iRealPro to make backing tracks for chord progressions, and songs you’re playing can also be a more fun way to do it. The last suggestion would be to use a looper pedal. Put on a metronome, play something with the looper pedal so that you know it’s in time, then turn off the Metronome and only play with the looper Hope some of those ideas help :-)
