Love your earrings! Cackle! That’s my comfort read. I have loved all of her books. I have one more to read which is The Return. Watership Down sounds like a rough movie. Not the dead bunnies! 😂 I’m all about weird books. The Light at the End sounds so good! I love that so many different genres made your top 20. Great list! 🚂
Cackle was so good! I can't wait to read more from her! Watership Down is DEFINITELY a rough movie, but it's very well made and very faithful to the book too! I can't believe there were so many non-horror genres on my list too! I think you'd enjoy Light at the End!
I may be having a weird identity crisis because I am subscribing to a channel named Slime and Slashers. I don’t do horror books but somehow I like hearing you talk about them.
Awe!!!! Thank you 🥹🥹🥹 so glad you enjoyed haha and it's okay not to like horror books!!! I do talk about weird lit a lot and sometimes general fiction too, and I do enjoy dipping my toe into some romance lately 🫶 thank you so so much for subscribing 😍
I'm so happy Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is one of your best books of the year!! I love it so much 💚 Feeling like 2025 will be an even better reading year 🥂
Such a great wrap-up and so much variety!!📚 Watership Down is on my list of essential reading and I agree that you can even make a case for it being horror, or at least a gateway read. The movie seriously traumatized me as a kid 😱Loved Taste Like Candy but Mother Dear was on my worst list (though banger cover!). So it was super fun to hear another perspective.👩🍼Carrick Glynn sounds awesome. Gonna check it out as my last read of the year 🙂
I really think you'd enjoy Carrick Glynn! I hope so! Watership Down book was SO GOOD! The movie definitely was a horror gateway movie for me even though it's animated 😂
Thanks for sharing the list! I want to check out a number of them! I read my first Murakami a few years ago--- "First Person Singular", a collection of stories, and really love it. I've had "The Wind Up Bird Chronicles" on my Kindle for over a year but haven't gotten to it yet... I need to.
The Wind Up Bird Chronicle is so weird but I had a good time with it! I'll have to check out that collection of his that you read! I am excited to read more from him!
Great list with a lot of books I haven't heard of. I'm intrigued by The Hike. I really need to try a Murakami. And I know I'll love The Light at the End when I get to it someday. And YAY Watership Down!
I am almost 100 percent certain you'll enjoy The Light at the End just like you said! I can't wait for you to get to it at some point! I hope you enjoy The Hike if you ever pick it up. It's a fun and zany ride!
Mother Dear and The Light At The End have been on my wishlist for a while, so good to know you rate them highly. Watership Down?! My Nanna sat me down in front of "the cartoon bunny film" when I was 7 [it was on daytime tv in the 90s] and I still have flashbacks as a 41 year old, so the thought of reading the book is horrifying to me. I used to be a speed reader & always used to take books from relatives bookcases to borrow when I was younger, and Flowers In The Attic is one of the two books that my chill parents were upset about when they caught me with it - though I'd already finished it by the time they caught me.
Glad I'm not the only one who accidentally watched Watership Down too young! It definitely left a mark! I'm glad you were able to finish Flowers before your parents caught you hahaha!
I need to read Mother Dear, Dark Matter (both lol), First Date Prophecy, Cackle, frdfrdfrdfrd (from Loomis), A little Magic, Glynn, In the Company of Witches, The Hike, and MORE. Really surprised how many of these I haven't read, and excited to dive into them! MCCAMMMMIEEEE. BUNNNICCCCULLLLLAAAA! All of these sound so good! I'm down to explore with some of these being outside of my normal reading habits, you haven't led me wrong yet. I'm so glad you loved 'Where the Chill Waits' I knew it was going to be one you liked! Of course you're keeping the old school edition because it has a quote from Laymie on it hahaha. LIGHT AT THE END YESSSS. It is that the copy of Light at the End I sent? hahahaha I thought I sent a nicer version hahahahahaha. Do I need to send the other one I found that has a complete cover hahahaha. Oh okay hahahahahahahahahaha. *Me sending you a new copy of the vintage light at the end every two months*. I love the Rocko Earrings! Great video!
Hahaha I'm so glad i specified that wasn't the copy you gave me. Hahah I'm paranoid about holding that copy bc I wanna make sure I don't hurt it 🤣 eeee so glad you enjoyed. I truly can't believe how many non horror books made my list. It's kind of wild!
Love seeing your faves Kelsi! Love seeing all the weirdness too.
Eee, thank you, Crystal! And an extra big thank you for getting me into weird reads!
The Light at the End and Speaks the Nightbird sound so good!!! Yay, I love Bunnicula!
Bunnicula is SO GOOD! Appreciate you, Venus! ❤️
More books added to my radar/TBR. Great list Kelsi! 💚
eee thank you!!! Appreciate you checking it out 🥹
Nice list of favorites. And, okay, you've sold me on Mother Dear. Here's to a great reading year ahead.
I hope you like Mother Dear!!!

Cackle!! Yay! I can’t wait to see which Rachel Harison book you read next 😍 Any idea??
I'm thinking either The Return or Black Sheep will be my next Harrison. Any suggestions though on which I should prioritize next?
Such a great wrap-up with a lot of books I haven't heard of but going to add to my TBR
So glad you're going to add some to your TBR and hope you enjoy!

Love your wrap ups. The best thing about being a reader is when you find a hidden gem.
Awe! So glad you enjoy the wrap ups! Thank you so much for watching!

Eeeee so glad I gave Dark Matter a chance! It's so good! I'm hoping 2025 will be awesome for both of us 🥹🫶

They def. made cartoons differently for our generation! Great list! So many I haven't read (yet!)
Hahaha cartoons back in our day were the BEST! I sound like a grumpy old person hahaha
I'm so glad you loved In the Company of Witches!!!
it was such a cute and sweet and heartfelt read, sad too but in a sweet way!

I can't wait to hear what you think of Dark Matter!
🧛🏻♀️🦇 awesome list!!! I remember reading the hike years ago but I still remember that crab 😂
The crab from The Hike is THE BEST!!!!
Happy new year
