Great video!!! Ok, I must ask, I live here in Galveston and have never been to Baffin Bay. I want to make a solo trip there with my waders. Problem is that I have NO idea where to go. Without telling or giving me any specifics, can you tell me some general areas that your could recommend me to make some productive casts? Thank you.
@@hectorcoria3650 if you time your trip to wade when a front sizzles out, look in Rivera, TX. A general search in the area and you can find a few public piers and boat launches you can wade by them. Stack the weather and solunar to your favor. Any spot with mud and rocks about waist deep and you’ll do fine.
@@laketogulffishing I love how easy it is to control the braking system and it’s a solid ounce less than my old reel. The drag however I’m not used to, it’s a bit more stronger than my concept Z’s…lost a few fish in the process figuring the drag out but i think I got it now. Overall I’m happy, a huge upgrade over my old reels.
@laketogulffishing haha yes! I typically I like to have a tad more drag than I need. Then back off as I get a hookset. Just seems to be a little heavier drag than what my other reels could do.
I've tied a little nylon/small rope on my boga grip so when i hold fish up the rope has marks 20/30 inches so on instead of marking your rod or wading back to the boat to measure it ❤TX
@@Jay-v1y6z that’s a good idea. I usually use my rod to measure but that can be inaccurate. A wade with a board boat I broke again that was attached to my net. I had to go to the boat because where I was wading was too deep and I couldn’t lift the fish high enough to get the tail out the water and wanted to get a drink of water too.
What an awesome trip out Daniel...congrats on starting the year off strong with 4 fish on the board for Heavy Hitters!!
@@texaswadefisherman thank you
That's all solid stuff sire! Nice conditions, nice wade, hard to beat.
@@CoastalK thanks man, definitely was a great day on the water
Solid wade to start the year!
@@Eric_Castillo_Fishing thsnks, I got lucky waiting on the right solunar and front sizzling out moment.
Great video! And awesome fishing…they were huge!
@@MelissaGuillette thank you
I always look forward to your videos. Baffin is a special place. I've only fished there once and caught my PB trout.
@@IODell thank you. And yes Baffin is definitely a magical place to chase a PB!
Thanks for supporting us and participating in Heavy Hitters!!!
@@speckledtruth4577 your welcome. I realized last year I could had done well, don’t want to miss out this year.
Texas has some monsters!
@@RedfishRob yes sir, and they get even bigger than that
Great stuff bro!
@@FishiganMilligan thanks man
Man, I was screaming at my phone for you to just net the 3.97 haha! I need to get on a winter bite now, can’t beat the quality of those fish.
@@KardiacOutdoors hahaha! I try to make an effort to just use the boga when landing, damn thing wouldn’t open its mouth.
