I think Schumacher is one of the three reasons why Mercedes is that dominant today. It's not randomly that especially the Teams Schumacher worked in get that dominating. He came back, and did the same work he had done at Ferrari from 96-99. Together with Ross Brawn(who is the second reason) he formed and built up a team that does phenomenal work. Ross&Michael built up Mercedes GP. They formed that Team And made it work. Thats a fact as even Teammembers today admit that Michael was crucial for the Teams sucess today. And thats one of the things that makes him the best Driver ever. Because he is more than just a driver. He does more than any other driver ever did.
The only Problem was - he already was too old to earn the fruits of his work. But it's easy to see that he had done something absolutely Special once again. Even if he was not that sucessfull on the track itself, as he was already 42 years old(an age where EVERY human being losses important things that are essential for such a sport...with 40 years fighter jet pilots must retire because every human being loses some of the ability to judge distances exactly at high speed- And that he still was able to challenge the Top Pilots in their best age - thats phenomenal And indeed shows how Special And phenomenal this guy was!), he did a Second time what no other driver was able to do even one time- build up a team that totally dominates F1! That was him. And Ross.

Yes! I've thought this for a long long time - it is almost as his Merc days were the early 3 - 4 years with Ferrari, with the positive results coming a few years down the line. It is almost a shame he didn't have enough left to keep going, because that would have been probably the greatest ever sporting achievement. Always get told that I undermine Hamilton's titles by saying this haha, but I still believe it.

Specially when you think that the team was operating with the same budget as williams which is ridiculous for a company like mercedes. its a shame that the year after michael retired thats when they started to pump money in the team.

The story that leaked out when the Tsunami hit was amazing - the USA gave $10 mill to the appeal, as did GB. However it was leaked that an individual had given more than the two combined. I really enjoyed following and watching Michael racing, even though I thought he sometimes crossed the line and bent the rules. When Michael dominated and won race after race and championship after championship I absolutely loved every minute of it, even when many complained it was getting boring and predictable I defended his brilliance. However I have been a little saddened at the relative silence and lack of insight and information from the Michael camp following his injury. I had hoped that yet again he could be an unquantifiable inspiration to so many if we could see and hear from him and how he deals and copes nowadays... I guess in a broadly similar way that Nicolas Hamilton inspires so many.

I still don't see the point in so secretively hiding a public figure's health updates. It won't make much of a difference if they give some periodic updates, even if it is once a quarter. People pray for him and love him. That won't change. But it's frustrating that some people, other than Michael, are 'hiding' him as if it's something that can get stolen if revealed.

Schumacher always seeked privacy in his private life and matters. So, as much as fans and admirers are eager to get information about his health state, I think it's not much to ask to accept his wish, even if he's not aware of what's happening.

OK, for US people, we all know them being as not so smart, but here we have an English journalist and still he doesn't try to pronounce the name correctly. Even Sabine is not pronouncing it as it should be in this interview.
