There is a great potential movie to be made out of the Brawn GP story, all the ups & downs are such a compelling story & even has the hollywood ending!
Fantastic interview. Fantastic season (2009) - when I fell back in love with Formula One. And Ross Braun told it so, SO well...and you (importantly - as you always do) let him...but asked the right questions. What a wonderful idea for an interview. THANK YOU.
Ah, 2009... the year I fell in love with F1. I remember reading about the Brawn story shortly before the Australian GP and thought it was so amazing that a team was basically resurrected from the dead like that. After watching the race, I was hooked. It's a shame we'll likely never see something like that happen again.

@@greigsanderson I think you missed to watch that season... Not messing around with a fast car isn't for everyone, he surely didn't crack under the pressure of being first the whole season. At the last races Brawn wasn't the fastest car anymore as it was (as usual on a small budget team) progressively loosing the edge through the season.
I've always wanted a detailed breakdown like this! Can't wait to play it! One of the greatest stories in F1 history. We will probably never see anything like it again. They should make a movie about Brawn GP 😁
Im quite interested to listen about the 'here and now' from Ross Brawn, about how they plan to make F1 better in the future and how they're going to do it.
Brilliant interview..... great change of pace from the normal #beyondthegrid interview focusing solely on the story of the 2009 championship. Loved it. Ross paints a very visual picture, I felt I was in the boardroom hearing the bad news from Honda.
Su escudería Brawn hizo historia en la F1,fue el precursor de lo que esta haciendo Mercedes actualmente. Además que recuerdos cuando Brwan estaba en Ferrari con Schumacher.
28-31 minutes was an interesting story...Brawn in 09 and Mercedes in 14 asking questions many months ahead of their competitors showed how ahead of the game they were. That's a contributing factor of their winning ways.

would have been awesome if they went back to Tyrell name and won the championship, or if Alonso took a chance with them before signing with Ferrari, i recall Ross was heavily recruiting Fernando during the earth dreams car
It’s a bit of a shame that I’ve listened to an excellent BRDC interview with Brawn and what’s-his-name so this remarkable story was already largely known to me.
@Hallison Michel yeah, hope it happens again. I honestly dont know how they didnt win anything in 14 and 15. Their car was easily better than ferrari in 14 and better than rb in 15. I believe that going the merc b team is the best option for them right now if no one is going to buy them out. If they do, they'll just recieve the w10 for next year, and they can upgrade it themselves. Once they've accumulated enough funds from placing higher. They might be able to revert to solo.
Shout out to the Drivers Jensen and Rubens for the team play and adapting to the condition of the team ! I wonder if alonso and hamilton were in that team, they would have finished close to last because they didnt have enough spares and these two would have crashed and played dirty politics with each other thus ruining the team.
Ross is pure genius, and now he is charge of banging heads together of teams for post 2020 cars, and make racing better and closer i have 1 huge point. All the teams and aero developements with votrex vertical vanes, boomerang strips and most importantly all teams dealing with the new front wings and the front wheel outwash, Braun F1 had the most obvious simple and brilliant example of controĺling huge amounts of front wheel outwash and aero problems and costs! Look at the dayglo yellow hubcaps! Ferrarri had theirs, toyota and bmw williams and maclaren had their versions. But in 2009 those cheap ( a pittance for F1) front wheel hubcaps, some called them spinners and moaned about the look, seriously cut the front wheel, and rear turbulance for close racing,. Today that would slash insane bargeboards and front of sidepod intakes, in costs of hundreds of thousands of design fiddles, carbon fibre sets designs and manufacture, plus flying them to the next race! F1 needs cost cutting and bringing the wheel covers back ten years later is something that needs bringing back.
