1 more pro TIP Jeff, if that cedar tree loses its smell, you can sand it down with sandpaper (gently) to bring back that cedar for it to smell new again. 👍🏻

I have had some good luck finding cedar shoe trees at a second-hand store for between $0.50 to $2 a pair. It's allowed me to have shoe trees in all of my shoes all of the time (unless I'm wearing them, of course!). You just hit the outside edges with a bit of sandpaper and that fresh cedar smell is right back; this is something people should be doing with their cedar trees annually anyways.

Style O.G., what a great video. Thanks for adding the tip that it's only really necessary to own 1 or 2 shoe trees and you only need to leave it in the shoe about 24 hrs. No other video I've watched on shoe trees answered those questions.

Looking sharp, Jeff. Great video. Obviously, if you are going to invest hundreds of dollars in quality shoes, shoe trees are a must. I use them in Chucka and dress boots, as well as dress shoes. For those on a limited budget, you can buy one pair of cedar shoe trees and use them on the shoes/boots immediately after you take them off. In 24 hours, you can replace them with plastic shoe trees, since the cedar has already done its job. If I'm not wearing the shoes/boots, I always have a shoe tree in them. I also use shoe trees when I condition and polish the shoes. Stretching them out allows the conditioner to permeate into the minor surface cracks and the wax to seal those cracks. I think shoe trees are a must if you want your shoes to look their best and last.

Another great video. As of now, my shoe collection consists of mainly high end shoes, particularly Allen Edmonds and the like. I personally do more than the average person, as I spend hours cleaning, conditioning, and polishing. However, the main component is definitely the shoe tree. I have shoes that are over 20 years old that have had their lives extended with the use of shoe trees. Right on, Jeff.!

I'm the same way - every time I buy a pair of shoes, I include a pair of trees for them (my holy grail is a pair of bespoke shoes with trees made from the last). There are several that are 20 years old and still look close to brand new, and that's a testament to keeping them in trees and rotating them (for the most part...I use a pair of Gravati's as daily wear when I shouldn't. But put it on a tree and give it some Renovatur, and it looks great minus some scratches). BTW: With a bunch of shoes, the trees also keep spiders out of the deep recesses, as they can even get into boxes.

I also think you should have a shoe tree for every pair of shoes because why invest in a shoe you don’t want to last forever?
    THATS what it does!
    It’s only $20
Also, while building your shoe tree arsenal, simply stuff the remaining pairs with paper, (printing, tissue, news, etc) until each of them have their own tree

The Style O.G. I cant afford a cedar shoe tree and only have a plastic one, how can I know if the shoe tree is negatively stretching my shoe?

Does it matter if the shoes trees are plastic? I’m 22 and see the plastic ones are more affordable.

Can i just leave the shoe tree in when I'm not wearing the shoes?

Mad funny I just got into using the cedar wood trees about a month ago Nordstrom had them on sale for around $12, copped around 14 of them, got them in my Tims and in my dress shoes(not into sneakers too much), I keep them in there mostly to keep the shape so they stay in there after I let them air out for about a day after I wear them then I put the trees in and put them away, do have some of the ikea plastic ones which I did make that mistake and put them in the dress shoes which I had in there for a while, those are now in my canvas shoes/loafers, as far as my drivers shoes I keep the folded up paper in those, keep hearing that shoe trees might stretch them out of there shape, can't do that risk to my Tod$$$. Great & informative vid as usual my brother, Be Safe;-).

Like everything else...extended size shoe trees cost a fortune in comparison to average side ones! #SasquatchProblems
