dude this information is one of those golden gems that will help artist really dial in on negotiations tactics..solid advice thanks
You're not just an artist, you're a highly intelligent business man 👍
Love this behind the scenes look and how the client provided revisions about significant years and safety tweaks. Really cool. I'm excited for the collab!
Peter is always bringing the positive vibes! Always excited to see another upload in my subscriptions.
I don't do wall art but these tips work for any creative projects. Thank you for the gems!!!
My favorite art channel. I stumbled onto your channel about a year ago. I love that you show your art, and also give advice to other artists, and aren't just trying to teach how to do art. I have a couple of degrees in fine arts and know where to find more concise help. This was so helpful. I had been playing around with how to start a TH-cam channel for my art, and you and Nerd Forge continue to inspire me in how I can do that. I think my channel will be an art & maker channel because I paint, but also design clothes and make them, then I design furniture and build it. I also think it would be fun to show young women what they can do. Thank you for your inspiration!
One very important aspect of this is to not under value yourself... I mean its also important to never say you CAN when you cant. But if this is a serious business for you, then do not fall into the trap of taking payment only if the client likes it, approves of it, or decides to use it. Make sure you take payment for the work that is done. This is the most important part.
If you call a plumber in to fix a new bathroom, you wont ask him to just make a mockup or a concept and pay him only if youre going to use it. Then its not a real professional job.
This was amazinggggg info to share. Been watching for awhileeeeeeee great to see how far I’ve gotten.
This is helpful. How do you calculate how much time, and paint to use and supplies for large murals.
LOVE the practical tips and tricks you laid out here! This was FOR SURE good to know :)
Bro. As always. Coming through with the clutch video!
So valuable. Thank you for sharing, please continue this series
wow! Amazing. Thank you for taking us through your process. it was insightful, a lots of cool and useful information
Peter this is a great video, thank you for sharing your process. Artists are often simply not business people, and their incredible talent and what they have to offer the world, never gets realized. Love you and your team so much!
This is such a great video! Thank you so much for the helpful information.
Thanks for sharing the business side of things! Good stuff man 🔥
Love this behind the scenes! Awesome work!
love your videos its really helpful for artists like me who have real trouble with communcating with clients
This is sooo helpful! In so many ways thank you so much!!! 🙏 appreciate you
SO SICK! was in arizona the weekend you were there but wasnt able to make it. I'll be back to check out the mural! appreciate your insight and knowledge of concept art. I had a client once who I had to drop because they kept changing the vibe and characters and ultimately had to suggest working with someone who can better understand their concept.. it happens. lessons learned
Such great advice, thank you so much!
Great video dude! Thank you for sharing your workflow.
Thanks for all these useful tips, that's so generous!

You are amazinggg I love the job you do! My dream job ngl
Dude you are so inspiring. I love watching your videos, you have relit a fire inside me about art I didnt think needed to be relit. Very appreciative of your content and have some new projects in the works. Do you ever do mentoring sessions? aside from these awesome vids?
Very good explanation and detailing the process for artists.
Definitely having a design freeze within you contract is a good idea.
Love these kinds of videos. So helpful.
Thank you so much, that was so helpful
Super insightful stuff ~ thanks for sharing!
another one so soon YEAaayaaaaah!! - lil wayn
Thanks for sharing this ❤
This was very interesting and very helpful about dealing with a client.
Way to pay it forward! Looking forward to May!
I do social artwortks with groups of people, I'm taking on the tip of specifically asking them which of my created artworks they like, as we always look through my portfolio at our in-person meetings. Thanks, I've been watching your channel for many years and have used a bunch of your tips in my art business, even though I do something quite different.
What a great client!
The one thing to remember, you can have all the technology from your brains to your hands, won't matter what machine you run to, the original computer you take care of as you are. Being matters.
Nice to see someone who doesn’t put info behind a paywall
Absolutely great advice! Not that I do murals (yet) but I do do commissioned paintings where some of your tips hold true as well. Thanks for sharing! And I am soooooo looking forward to the US vs EU art battles!
You rock for sharing this❤
Thnx Ten, great advice!
Thanks for sharing these solid tips. Oh and GO TEAM USA!!!
Already saw the reveal vid, absolutely love the concept I said it there: I’ll say it again here🎉 what a cool thing to be apart of
Thanks a lot for the sharing. This video really helps!
that mural video was so good.
Hey thank u so much I started doing murals this year thank u for this video
Great information and flawlessly presented. Where so many others come off as “Us vs Them”, this video really sets a bar for people who haven’t had a lot of interactions of this type. Not a dull moment either. I do have a question about the client’s use of the artists’ characters/design and how that is managed. Thanks!
I’ve heard a lot of bad stories when it comes to revisions, but all the inputs you got were great!
You almost have me convinced to use Fresco for inking and colouring! Awesome break down of your process, too. So valuable!
Thanks Broski! Come over to the Fresco Darkside!
I don’t have an artistic bone in my body but I still love the behind the scenes learning of the business behind the process. Keep up the good work Peter
Looking healthier, bud. Hell yeah 🤘
Dude make more videos on these topics❤🎉😂
Wow this is so beneficial for me, especially since I am just getting started with setting up my own art business, at the age of 60 this Autumn 🍂 2024. I also definitely need to check out Squarespace. Looking forward to seeing the collaboration with the artists in May! Go team Jess! USA!
love this!!
I want learn how to become a freelancer. But have no idea with the business side of it. Please do more behind the scenes. This helped me a lot.
Race to your future! What a great concept.
this was very interesting!
thanks for all these valuable insights into your workflow! pretty helpful :) im still interested in how you organize all your footage like raw videos from different cameras, raw photos, edited photos of final walls, fotos for magazines and blaaa. if you could include that in any video soon would be graaand :) cheers from Germany
I did a commission without sending a mockup drawing and by the time i was done with it the lady hated it. She wanted so many changes made that i just lost the commission but i kept the artwork to always remind myself of that. Its all about what you charge for your time and supplies to create something the client will enjoy.
As always your videos make me so happy. I thought Bobby Duke Arts was coming to the at collab as well
He's going to be hanging out, but not necessarily as a member of the colab
In my mind, I was already making a Figma of your workflow 😂Not an artist in the least, but I loved this video and am inspired by your work ethic and sheer joy! Thanks for making this video 😊
Needed this one 10, let me make notes bro
I got a heartattack when i saw how hard you press on the ipad when you wrote the name of the color swatches :D
My boy TenHundred is so focused on 12:09 his eyes be glowing!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Hi, TenHun thanks a lot for that video and a lot of amazing tips. Im working at the moment with paintings for big logistic company and I was thinking how to get everything done. And boom ....your video comes up. Thats crazy! So crazy details and important informations! Thank You so much Mate!! Keep it going your such a beautiful ART!!! ;) _ Greeting Soim.
new upload lezgow
I'm not a good artist, I wish I was better, but I have worked on many projects where art would have elevated the project. We always ended up using something internally that was okay.... But something from a concept artist that had there own style and perspective would have brought the project to the next level!
Broooooo your a SAVAGE 🔥 🔥
Literally just wrote a blog about some of my own stories dealing with clients as an artist. More client fails but still I have a bit of experience now so thought this might be useful to some people. Edit: super useful tip about scaling the digital canvas to match the wall as I might be doing a wall soon.
love it
This is exactly the same kind of line art and colouring I used to do when I was an artist in my 20s.
V cool work
3:30 - Dev'Zel appears!!! (Devora Wilde) 😊
Ik this gonna be a gud❤❤
To the comment about revisions I have had some customers that wanted so many revisions. One client once said she wanted something different on a particular part of the art. I think she did like 20 different revisions and then i told her i couldn't do it no more without extra payment. what i was is she told me she wanted one thing changed i didn't change anything else then she came back wanting me to change one or two more things then over time it just kept happening. when i told her i couldn't do it no more after 20 revisions without extra payment for my time she requested I send the non refundable deposit back and i didn't do it. she tried to get a refund and when i showed the bank my proof of her being a pain client they refused her refund in the end I did not finish her work she got pretty hateful. To this day I still refuse to do art for her.
I find the process sane for most projects but I did like the clause about review processes. Doesn’t happen more than once usually but yeh. Also I would have a clause about the lifespan of the mural and if removing replacing the process for contacting the artist
Just curious, Do you have digital copies of these anywhere? This mural looks perfect format as a background for my ultrawide monitor
Very nice! Would you mind showing us the symbol graph for making your drawings proportional when your projector does not work?
TenHundred has past full mural videos where he shows the symbol graph making technique.
You use a lot of oranges , pink & reds. Which brand do you find fade the least ?
step one is having a far reach and connections. often times this is networking and a bit luck. it's important to note this because kids entering the art field do not know this. great video!
I’m in the First 100 viewers, todays a good day 😎
how to print out as stencil for wall , may thanks .
Why did you nit stay in Procreate to do the color as well?
Idk if you’ve talked about this before. But I would love to see you go over the details of creating a contract. You’ve hinted on it here but didn’t really go into depth about it. Like for instance you mentioned doing the merch deal. Do you put a clause in the contract that says they can’t use your images for anything other than the mural and if they want to do merch. Branding etc they gotta work with you to get that done? Like even if it’s photos for their brochures or website?
@capntonydanza, you might want check The Contract Shop. They have contract templates for small businesses and creative businesses such as artists, calligraphers, freelancers, and so on.
@@fredericapanon207 is that like a website? I’ll check it out but I’d still like to see ten give his personal advice on this topic
@@capntonydanza it is a website. I cannot post a non-YT link in the comments.
wow how much did you charge them with all total done?
🌻
"The Arizona Mural" does this mean you've scored MORE murals at other campuses??!
❤❤❤❤
