I had a 2007 4.2L and 2014 4.7L, it's an amazing car that you never get tired of driving or looking at.. The 4.7L is quick enough, the 4.2L isn't. Yes you can actually carry 4 adults, not for more than an hour though. Both were as reliable as a regular car BUT if you have any problems, it'll cost around 3 times more to fix. Plus the parts can take more than a month to arrive from Italy. Also upkeep isn't cheap,where I live at a Maserati dealership it's $700 for an oil change . You may find an independent that can do it for less or attempt it yourself. Also they depreciate like a rock; bad if you buy one new, great if you're buying one used. I'm driving a Jaguar F-Type v6 S now that I really love, but who knows, maybe I'll go back to Maserati at some point down the road,

Thanks for the positive review. I own a GranTurismo S and GranCabrio S both 2011s and they have been reliable, beautiful and fast enough at 4.6-4.9s 0-60 MPH. And amazingly on long trips I got 26 MPG! Plus they fit actual adults in the rear seats! Some day I hope their values reflect their Ferrari built and based V8s that SOUND amazing! Until then, i'll just enjoy what I have and the world be damned!

Pininfarina nailed it when they designed the QP, GT, and Ferrari 360, 430, and California's. Post pininfarina cars look weird. Yes you should buy one. I have a ZF QP that I daily drive, no problems knock on wood. The biggest problem I personally have is the sticky buttons which I plan to have professionally refinished at some point.
No, I shouldn't... I did ! I'm the new happy new owner of a 2012 MC Sport Line (see it on the channel if you want, don't be mad at me, it's the beginning). , 26000 miles, white eldorado, very good shape for its age and for the moment (several weeks and 1000 miles), no issue. No regrets !
Owned a 4.7 S for 3 years. 100% reliable never any issues. Sure dealer servicing is more than my 911 but you know that prior to buying one. Engine is fantastic and it’s a perfect GT car we cruised across Europe in ours a few times.

I reckon that the Quattroporte deserves some love too. They are even better value on the used car market than a used GranTurismo and the ones from 2007 got the much more reliable ZF transmission
@@RossReviewsau - that's my point. The 2007 Quattroporte's got the ZF transmission from 2007 onwards and I've seen them for sub 40k. It does have the 4.2, not the 4.7. But it's around half the price of a GT with a Ferrari engine. I'd hate to think what parts prices are like though.
Although a completely different car the 4.6L V8 Majesta you have reviewed previously is not that far off this in the 0 to 100 stakes. That off course is a cruiser where this is a proper drivers car with a decent exhaust note to boot.
These cars are a bargain considering modern ford and holden v8s are in some cases more expensive and its night and day in comparison.Its kmart trackie dacks vs armani suite

I love the Quattroporte the most out of any car's ever made! These people designing these have hit the nail on the head every time for year's now. So this thing is sexy and sound's f..cking great, Love it. The Volvo S90 front end reminds me of these in a way, and that's not a negative. The next cruiser car I buy will most like be the S90 because it does remind me of the look of these. if Volvo changed the ars end of would be fantastic. I have a 08 GT with only 25k on it. I just paid 4k for the 25k Maintenance service. It still has a year Axiom extended warranty on it and I'm willing to sell it.

Actually there are 3 exhausts. I have (2) a GranTurismo S and a GranCabrio S. The former has an oval exhaust and the later quad round tips. The MC has 2 round tips exiting from the rear like their race cars. FWIW.@@RossReviewsau
5.7 Seconds is really not a big deal these days. Considering the cost of maintanance plus the cost of extraordinarily expensive parts, the cost of 'prima donna' Italian dealers and mechanics plus the cost of fuel these days, it's a bloody expensive excercise just to experience the feel and sound of a Ferrari inspired engine. Don't be fooled, unless you have deep pockets, an understanding spouse or you are a clued up mechanic, owning a Maserati may wreck your marriage or severely test your bank balance.. When finally you come to offload your dream car, expect to be insulted with low offers... Don't kid yourself, his machine is for fanatics or wealthy people especially when you've got your eyes set on a MC model.
Hefty hefty price tag Jonathan even on the used market that are 8 to 10 years old be overall it's a great looking car and sounding no questions about that but near 2 tons is pretty damn heavy.

One of my good friends had an 09 with the F1. Made it an even better experience, except for when it comes time to pay for a new clutch. 😅

This car looks like a 4.2 Gran Turismo to me, judging from the exhaust pipes. 4.7 should be just dual exhaust instead of quad exhaust
Also the paddle shifter. 4.7 should have longer paddles.
Saving up for one of these... $30-40K can find you an old one in the states

It sounds really nice just shifting up at 3500rpm. Does this one have a Larini exhaust? I dont think the standard exhaust has round tail pipes....
there are 2 different exhausts one for the ZF and one for the F1 style gearbox.. this is the quieter of the 2.. still a really nice note (all factory)
