      Can you graft a Kent mango on to a Haden mango seedling? Or an Alphonso mango on to Haden seedling? Do the variety of mangoes have to be the same?

    THANK YOU !! I have a crabapple tree on my property that deer fight over, and it holds fruit through February here in St.Clair County. If I had 20 of these trees I will have very deer here SOOOOOO I am to go hardcore graphing on all my wild apple trees and other crabapple trees to get this one all over the property.

    Wow I FINALLY get why people do grafting now!!! I never understood before! Thanks for explaining it SO WELL, fellas! :-D
    The only question I have left is what type of root stalk can you use to graft the desirable tree buds/branch onto? Do you ALWAYS use a tree that was grown from the seed of the same mother plant, that the graft came from too?
    We bought a house last year that had a young Meyer's lemon tree planted in the yard. This spring it has one branch shooting up really tall and my neighbor pointed out to me that the leaves look different. He suggested it's probably a grafted Meyer's. I want to make sure before I prune anything off. I'm wondering if it IS a grafted tree, should I expect that the root stalk is from the same parent tree that the graft came from (i.e. another Meyer's) or if it could be a different tree root stalk all together??? -Any ideas?

    Just picked up 2 Dunston Chestnuts from Chestnut Hill for planting at our FredNeck Acres, in one of our food plots.

      They’re great trees, you won’t be disappointed! Just make sure to water plenty for the first year or so!

      Don Higgins said he could not tell any difference in Dunstan and Chinese chestnut, the Dunstan is a cross from American and Chinese, he said he planted both on same farm and there were no differences, other than price! I believe I will get some Chinese and try them

      Yes. You'll want to plant April through early May.

      @Whitetail_Properties  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The seed is going to grow as the variety of what was grafted.

    I have access to persimmon cuttings but how / where to I acquire the rootstock for grafting? Thank you for your help!

    • @Whitetail_Properties
      @Whitetail_Properties  ปีที่แล้ว

      The root stock is American persimmon, the cuttings are from Japanese varieties that are larger have sweeter fruit. Not sure where you could find American persimmon root stock.

    Do you have to graft or can you just propagate them. Whats the benefit of doing graft vs just sticking your stick from tree cuttings into soil and rooting that way?

    • @Whitetail_Properties
      @Whitetail_Properties  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this particular case they are grafting buds from other varieties to native varieties root stocks. So the plant will have the native root stock and an improved fruit from another variety.

    Thank you guys I’m researching this because my father in law has the absolute best lemons I’ve had and I want to be able to clone his tree and not just take my chances with seeds.

      It's a really cool process! We will have to do a more in depth video actually showing the grafting being done.
