How about Beets for Thanksgiving? They're sorta traditional :) I enjoy how these feed my curiosity (pun intended)
You could leave the pumpkins unopened. Lots of deer will smash them open with their hooves.
I put small ornamental gourds on my front porch one year and they started disappearing. I bought some more and the next day my husband called up the stairs, "I just saw a squirrel carry a whole gourd up the neighbor's tree."
Have you tried a large bag of apples? It doesn’t matter if they’re a bit old.
In keeping with the the season, how about cranberrys?
I love these videos and am so thankful that you do not add comments or canned music! Nature’s sounds are always perfect. Thank you!
Exactly!❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment! We are so glad you enjoy our videos! We liked to make sure the wildlife are the stars of the show and do not want to interfere! Thanks for watching!
I agree!!

Good for the digestion😊 and nothing left to waste. I never thought of deer liking pumpkin so much. Thanks for the video.
Deer eat just about everything! Except periwinkles and iris and wildflowers.
Yes very good for digestion! We couldn't believe how quickly they ate them and every last crumb! Nothing was left! We learned something on this experiment! Deer LOVE Pumpkins! Thanks for watching!
@@TheOutdoorTheater Thanks for posting ❤❤
@nickjenkins1663 Thanks for watching!
They eat pumpkins big time in my yard.
My goodness thank you for sharing and caring I wish every person that are finished with their pumpkins would take a trip to the woods to throw out their old pumpkins that would be amazing gift for wildlife
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind comment and for watching! Yes, we certainly hope this sparks others to put their leftover pumpkins outside in their yard or woods for wildlife to enjoy versus just throwing them in the trash! Better served as a delicious and nutritious snack!
Up in BC Canada on Vancouver Island as you drive in hwy 4 into Port Alberni a lot of folks take their pumpkins to leave them along side the road after Halloween, it’s pretty cool, my sisters live up there:)
We offer ours to local farmers but wildlife is another good option.
@@TheOutdoorTheaterI always put our leftovers on a flat rock at the base of our 150 year old oak tree. Gone and licked clean by morning. After an occasional trip away, we find an offering dead centre of the rock…like a magical Ritual to make the rock start giving again…which it always does. It is pure pleasure to see all the different creatures come for a share…and they never fight at the rock.🖤🇨🇦
@tamarrajames3590 wow what an awesome occurrence and story! Thank you for sharing! It’s almost like magic, there one minute gone the next! But you know it filled some wildlife belly’s! Thanks for watching! 🙂
I always put the old pumpkins out for wildlife they love it. 🎃👍
They certainly do! We always knew deer liked pumpkins but we didn't know JUST how much they LOVE them! Thanks for watching!
Me, too. Well, for any critters that want it.
Wow, they completely devoured them. Thanks for sharing.
They sure did! Not a single crumb was left! Deer certainly love pumpkins! Thanks for watching!
Wow, the deer are in the holiday spirit! They loved the pumpkin.
Oh yes they were! They sure know how to celebrate with a Halloween Treat! Thanks for watching!
These wildlife feeding videos are so satisfying to watch. To see these creatures feeding and going about their normal business is positively uplifting.
We’re so glad you found the video relaxing enjoyed it! We agree, there is nothing more relaxing and joyful than watching unbothered wildlife going about their business! Pumpkins were a livestock feed in older times. I was surprised the deer loved them so. My cattle were not so enamored.
Just a note on your does, they live in ancestral family groups of does. So your girls have been there for generations. When the first does is laying her ears tight to her neck she is telling someone to wait she eats first. 😍💕
I didn't know that. So interesting! Thanks for sharing that info😊
I think you have just about the best most relaxing channel on TH-cam.
Natural sound and no annoying music or voice overs.
Calming peaceful very beautiful...😊❤👍🏼
Wow thank you so much for your very kind comment! We’re so glad you enjoy the videos, our channel, and find them relaxing! We want the wildlife to be the stars of the show!
@TheOutdoorTheater And yes they are !!!👍🏼😊❤️
my heart grows with joy, watching the deer licking their lips, from the tasty meal they found.
Isn’t it just the best, you know they are enjoying the tasty treat! Thanks for watching we’re glad you enjoyed the video!
What a treat for these gorgeous animals. Thank you
.
It sure is! Thanks for watching!
They love that pumpkin.😊
They sure do! We always knew deer liked pumpkins but didn't know just how much they LOVE pumpkins! Not a crumb was left! Thanks for watching!
The deers really loved your pumpkins! I loved watching the video, thanks so much!
They sure did! We are so glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching! On top of being a tasty treat for the deer, pumpkins are a great source of digestive health as well and are a natural dewormer for the deer! If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more like it in the future, please consider subscribing to the channel! Thanks for watching!
I truly appreciate the fact that the human with the pumpkin 🎃 splitter was wearing an orange jersey while splitting! Thoroughly enjoyable! Plus I thought it was so lovely watching deer munching on ripe pumpkins. 🎃 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🐿️🐾🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌 Thank you for this entertaining video. 😂🦌
Thank you for leaving foods that the animals would ordinarily eat if they were lucky -- I loved seeing the deer lick her lips as she chowed down on the pumpkin.
Thank you for your kind comment and for watching! We are glad you enjoyed the video! We certainly like to give the wildlife a nutritional boost especially heading into the harsh winter months that they endure here in Minnesota! Not to mention pumpkins are a very good natural dewormer for the deer and a healthy digestion treat!
Thank you so much. Most of my life is just tears and loneliness now, but this brought tears of joy remembering when I was able to feed wildlife and myself.
Beautiful video the animals really enjoyed that fruit peaceful at one with the natural world
Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed the video! If you have not yet already, please consider subscribing to the channel to be notified of future peaceful nature videos like this one!
Oh my 💜! And bless your 🤍 for feeding those precious babies!
Thank you for your very kind comment and for watching! We are glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for busting the pumpkins open! A lot of people don’t think to do that. Many animals can’t break into them then until they start rotting. 🐿
Thank you for watching! We know deer and larger animals can break them open with their hooves but smaller animals and birds cannot and they need to be able to enjoy too! Thanks for watching!
The deer will smash them very easy....
Beautiful, healthy looking does.
They sure are! We always love to see them nice and healthy as it starts getting colder outside! Thanks for watching!
I have a sanctuary along the tree line of my property and I do this every year. What a treat for the beauties. I have a cheap hunting camera I use during the winter months to make sure the animals are thriving. So far, so good.
So many animals love pumpkin. I always encourage people to put their pumpkins out for wildlife if they dont intend to cook with them. If sharing with wildlife though, don't use toxic paints for decorating and if you carve the pumpkin, dont rinse it with bleach. Happy Fall and Happy Halloween everyone. 🍂
Yes, we certainly hope this sparks others to put their leftover pumpkins outside in their yard or woods for wildlife to enjoy versus just throwing them in the trash! (as long as there isn't any paint or topical coloring used) The pumpkins are better served as a delicious and nutritious snack! Happy Fall and Halloween to you! Thanks for watching!
I know some people decorate with paint but what do you do with the bleach?
I don't think there's a good reason to use bleach?
Maybe just leave the food without any paint or bleach so all the wildlife can enjoy!
Great video!
Thanks for sharing!
@@User-blu-7999 I never knew that before either because I never did or would do it, but some people. after carving their jack o lantern will rinse it with bleach to slow down spoilage.
Dynamic Duo 😂 They are such an enjoyment to watch!
They sure are! They devoured these pumpkins! HAHA! Thanks for watching and if you would like to see more videos like this in the future, please consider subscribing!
Seems like a pheasant wanders through every video in his own little world.
Hahaha! Right?!😂
Maybe a grouse, aren't pheasant bigger with a long tail ?
@ I thought it was possibly a female. I’m not really familiar with basic game birds, but I recognize a disinterested party.
@@joanneking2889 even females have long tails, just not the pretty colors. I think these birds are too small for pheasants. But they are some type of game bird.
I think it's a female Ruffed Grouse, but not entirely sure.
My cat and I were mesmerized! Thank you!
We are so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching and give your four legged friend a scratch from us!
I learned something new today. I had no idea deer loved pumpkins. These two probably haven't ever eaten this well. It's was nice to see the deer eating. They usually don't stick around long because they are so skittish. Such gentle beautiful creatures.
Next year there very well be pumpkin patches growing in the forest!
Wow, never knew deer liked pumpkin! Thanks for a good video!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! We couldn't believe how much they loved them!
So sorry you didn’t get many squirrels. I should have mentioned to leave the jack-o-lantern pumpkins whole and just put a small hole in the top enough for a squirrel to start to gnaw on it. Leaving a whole pumpkin out like that gives it a few days to become fermented. By the time the squirrel chews a place big enough to get his face in, they come out staggering. We through our decorations out just after Halloween to the back of our property, the deer love them. You are very much north of us. We live in Upstate, NY. I try to keep utility apples and some of the pumpkins and gourd back for snowfall. We get the lake effect off Lake Ontario. I usually go snow blow through my yard 😂 and throw what I have had put back so they have something to eat. I used to raise draft horses in the Mrs of West Virginia. The horses and deer would fight over the pumpkins. Thank you for your videos, very enjoyable and peaceful.
We will have to try that method next time! Thank you for watching and for sharing! We are glad you are continuing to enjoy our videos!
Hahahaha! Oh drunk squirrels! Just what I needed to stop crying tonight! Thank you everything!
Where I'm from in Utah some people have wild grapes which are basically just vines with tiny bit of really really tart grapes and when the deer eat them they get super drunk😅
Thank you for the love you give these creatures, it’s delightful ❤
I'm glad you keep treating the wildlife with fresh goodies. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video, deer love pumpkins it’s a natural dewormer for them. Enjoyed 👍
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the video!
The Jays are beautiful! Thanks for the vid.
They sure are! Thanks for watching!
so cool seeing the antlers budding out
It sure is! Excited to see what it looks like next year! Thanks for watching!
Every year I leave our pumpkins decompose in our backyard. It feeds the squirrels, groundhog and birds. If I'm lucky, I get a little pumpkin patch to grow. I found out that it you add a little peanut butter to thdm, the mice will eat holes in them and the other critter can feast faster. Its a nice autumn treat for them!
The bluejays and deer seemed to enjoy the pumpkins 🎃🦌🐦❤️‼️
Yep, I always throw my grandkids' spent carved pumpkins into the woods after Halloween. The deer absolutely love them, they’re gone in a couple of days. I just want to also say that I really needed some mindless, lovely video right now. Thanks so much for doing these. Hey, I’ll watch whatever you put out.
This was so wonderful to watch. Just completely calming and peaceful. Thank you so much for doing this and sharing it with us. God bless!!!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the video!

Cog Hill Farm channel gives pumpkins to their pigs and chickens as a treat and they love it!
And Goats, Peacocks, and Turkeys too! They just gave pumpkins to all their animals in today's video.
Such gentle creatures enjoying your gifts! Thank you for sharing.

We have a little wooded area in the back of our house. I always throw my Halloween hack o lanterns out there. Since they were carved, I did not even bother to split them open. It was like squirrel heaven. The screeching from the squirrels and raccoons was awesome. No deer that I know of because this area, while wooded, was a little too close to people I think. I stopped carving pumpkins a few years ago because we stopped giving out candy on Halloween. We go completely dark because our dogs just could not handle the constant stream of kids. We go upstairs and close the drapes, turn out the lights and snuggle in bed with the dogs while trick or treating is going on. But our neighbors all throw their pumpkins in our woods. So we still get to enjoy watching the parade of animals. Last year, we saw a beautiful doe prancing down the middle of our street, through our yard and right to the pumpkins. It is like she got a bat signal there were goodies there and the people seemed nice. So, why not?
Wow most fascinating videos thanks , I leave peanuts in my back garden they are always gone quickly , thanks for feeding wildlife 💚💛
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing! We are certain your local wildlife loves the peanuts you leave! Thanks again!

It's hard to imagine what that new flavor is to a wild creature!
Very tasty apparently! As far as the deer are concerned! Thanks for watching!
The dynamic duo! Love it!😂😊
We thought it was a fitting name! Maybe a future T-Shirt idea! 😃 thanks for watching!
I am glad I came across these videos. I would love sweet potatoes. Also since you are up north, sugar beets would be great.
We’re so glad you found us and are enjoying our videos! We will certainly be trying sweet potatoes in a future video! In a past video we had put a pile of sugar beets and squash out! If you want to check that video out, we linked it here: th-cam.com/video/UFJmFdn4UtU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cYXwQ6h10CdI_Orc

Great! 🎃 I love the Jays toward the end looking like, Wait! Wasn't there more here?!? 🤔😅❤
After the two deer got ahold of them it was game over and none left for others! We are glad the Jays got some at the beginning before the deer found them! Thanks for watching!
I've only recently found your video's. They are great. I've enjoyed watching them
Thanks for directing me to this. I was biking a backyard trail yesterday and came upon a group of 7 deer including a buck eating perhaps 6 large broken up pieces of pumpkin and I had never seen this before nor thought they would eat pumpkin but you showed their hunger for it very well.
Enjoyable videos ! Just subscribed... I also once left a smashed pumpkin to see what happens. Nothing. Lots of birds and other creatures around but not a single one was interested in the pumpkin. It rotted away alone. Maybe because pumpkins are originally from the Americas and the wildlife here in Europe where I live has got other preferences, who knows.
Thank you for subscribing! We are so glad you enjoy the videos! Interesting, thank you for sharing your experience with the pumpkins! You might be on to something about location, as we have yet to have an experience where wildlife don't eat them. If you ever try again, with a different result, please let us know!
I find your videos so relaxing; thanks for posting them.
They really go for the pumpkin-a surprise. The deer are really handsome in the daylight.
They sure are! Thanks for watching!
I love these videos, thank you for posting.
Thank you! We are so glad you are enjoying the videos!
I always thought deer preferred corn and apples.
Now I know they love the insides, but will chew on the outside when nothing is left.
I have put food out for wildlife before, but never thought of pumkins.
I split my pumpkins after Halloween and Thanksgiving are over. I live in a suburban area so it is mostly squirrels and various species of birds that eat the seeds and guts of them. Thanks for the video!
They certainly enjoy them we are sure! Thank you for watching we are glad you enjoyed the video!
This is just so much fun watching them devour the pumpkin! Who knew? Guess pumpkin is gourmet for them.
They sure love them! We encourage all (if able) to put their old Halloween Pumpkins outside for the wildlife versus just throwing them away! That way none goes to waste! Thanks for watching!
🙋♀️ I Live in the city. Thanks for your channel. 🥰
Thank you for continuing to watch! We are happy to be able to provide you with some wilderness viewing in the city!
I think that this is the deer’s favorite treat! Do you suppose they’d like tropical fruits like pineapples or mangoes! I live in Florida, lots of deer in our neighborhood
Wonder if there will be pumpkin patches here and there from the deer droppings.
Good chance!😊😊😊
😂😂 I guess it's possible!!
Yes. There will be. It’s happened to me.
There just might be! Thanks for watching!
I wondered about that as well
Thanks, I completely enjoyed that!
12 days to polish that off, that seemed like a long time. Doe really liked it, unlike the fruits they seemed rather picky lol Thank you and Cheers !
I was surprised that there didn't seem to be more insects around the pumpkins.. I would have thought flies & ants would have swarmed them within 24hrs. Great vid new sub here. Loved the peanut pile as well. Can't wait to see more. Thank you from Australia :)
Your videos have been approved by my cat. The deer, much more than the birds and squirrels, are apparently very intriguing.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing (: We're so happy to hear our videos are cat approved! We look forward to providing more enjoyable videos that are "cat approved" Give your four legged friend a scratch from us!
Fantastic 🕊️

You should see what Cappy baras do to pumpkins! Yum yum! Just got mine today and my squirrels, chipmunks and deer are going to have a feast!😊😊😊
They sure are! They all thank you we're sure! Thanks for watching!
Ought to try it again this time next year. And I bet the deer transported those seeds around, and maybe there will be volunteer pumpkin plants in the woods. My grandmother threw some much in a flowerbed and got a butternut squash vine.
Thanks for sharing! We will certainly have to try it again next year! Thanks for watching and if you have not yet already, please consider subscribing to the channel!
We have always taken our old jack-o-lanterns to the wood's by our lake for the wild life!
those deer sure love the pumpkins.
They sure do! Thanks for watching!
The deer really enjoyed the pumpkins. 🦌🦌
In recent years squirrels have eaten my pumpkins onbthe front porch.5 different years i had a small crop of pumpkin plants come late spring. Harvest 10 one year and 5 this year.
I buy a $4 pumpkin at Aldis each year to decorate the porch. The squirrels always open it for the seeds.
No kidding! We may have some pumpkins in future years then! Thanks for watching!
Lmao I didn't expect the deers to love the pumpkins this much 😂❤
Better put more out. They weren't sharing. But its very good for them healthwise.
We made sure to give a refill (: Thanks for watching!
Fantastic
Thanks for watching! We are glad you enjoyed the video!
Solo Doe had herself a good night!!!
She sure did! Thanks for watching!
Pumpkin seem to be a big wildlife nomnom😋😋😋
Deer go ga-ga for pumpkins and apples. They just take over! It's so good for them, too. Expect lots of BMs around the place. ;) LOL
They sure do! They are a nutrutous snack for them and great for their digestion! HAHA! We will okay with plenty of BM's! Thanks for watching!
The deer are so beautiful & this was extremely popular in the deer community they seemed to devour it. . The Hare[?] In the begginning was curious but not interested lol.
We couldn’t agree more! There is something special about deer and the way they move about the forest! They sure loved the pumpkins too! Thanks for watching! We’re so glad you enjoyed!
We get an over abundance of pineapple pears on our farm every summer, and when I’m done canning, making jam, and dehydrating pears for the humans, I take 5-10 gallon buckets down by our creek in the woods for the deer, raccoons, possums, and squirrels. They go through a 5 gallon bucket in a couple of days.
Happy Halloween 🦇
Happy Halloween! Thank you for watching!
Pumpkin provides complete nutrition for animals. I just bought some for my two squirrels.
You should nickname the dynamic duo "Hoover" and "Dyson" because they vacuumed the pumpkin in record time. With all that fiber, they probably won't crap for a month!
I am thinking since this worked so well, any farms that have old pumpkins around left for many different reasons, load them up and take to the woods in the hurricane areas. Those critters would make short of any waste with a quickness. There are always farms like this around and after the terrible storm, most would offer help to load them even.... I should hope. I also see maybe a packrat hiding seeds and later on, their sprouting and growing again. Nice work
I take pumpkin seed oil for my urinary tract. Pumkins are wonderful!
They sure are! Thanks for watching!
The deer 😊
