Mets need another good defensive outfielder... we have a DH in right field!
I'm wondering if it's some bug or glitch and I can't see the comment I wrote or if my comment was deleted for some reason. When I share my comment and things get refreshed, I don't see my comment. I'll check later.
Instead of Siri they could have gotten Cody Bellinger for a bag of balls for center field. He would have added speed athleticism and Elite play at all Outfield positions and first base he would have cost nothing and not a long-term contract. The Mets needed Lefty bats he provided. With Bellinger we wouldn't have to get another big Lefty bat Winker would be perfect platoon with Marte. Against Riley's we could have had six left-handed batters and a super deep lineup 1-9 with Taylor or McNeil hitting 9th before Lindor or Iglesias Acuña against lefties. With this I'm assuming we're going to keep Pete.
They're looking for a lefty to platoon at DH with Marte. I don't think they'd have any interest in Michael A. Taylor with Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor on the roster. Winker is definitely in play.
If marte is overpaid and can't stay on the field, why would any team trade for him? If the met's are gonna have to eat his contract, they might as well. Just keep him on the team and see if they can get some value out of him.

@@CarsonMWalright I see. That's not really a fear though. Atleast it's not in my soul. You have plenty of power in that lineup and even more if they are going to bring Pete back or get Bregman. They have enough power where the DH doesn't necessarily need to be another big homerun guy. If Marte and Winker are the 2 that end up sharing the DH spot, I'm fine. The DH can end up being a flexible spot with different guys flowing through it at times. I have no fear there.
Lmaoo all of your points on marte are valid , but what are they supposed to do with him if they can’t move him? Worst case sign winker and use marte in ways he’s valuable.. which is hitting lefties and occasionally stealing bags , u didn’t provide a solution at all lol
He’s not going to be easy to move because of the contract and it makes no sense to cut him.. again use in ways he can help, let’s not act like he didn’t contribute in the playoffs either
