    very clear video about pipe wall thk calculation but you should have mentioned "Weld joint strength reduction factor" (W) also. good job

      Exactly, though for carbon steel, W = 1.0 for all temperatures, as per note 9 of Table 302.3.5.

    There is a mistake. On the minute 3:27 Y=0.04 but it should be Y=0.4. I add this comment because I usually work with European units and it can bring confusions.

    for t nominal, we just divided t minimum required by 0.875 or it will be better to do iteration to determine t nominal?

    Value of Y is 0.4 but you substitue 0.04 in the equation - WHY?

    It shows as published on Feb, 2016 and yet the equation used for calculating the pressure design thk is incorrect and not matching latest edition of ASME B31.3 2014. Please don't confuse the beginners

      hi friend,In Both edition same equation only.Here weld joint strength reduction factor not consider,but the value of the
      weld joint strength reduction factor, W, is equal to 1.0 (More details ref B31.3 2014 /302.3.5(e) )

      Please write the pressure design thk formula complete with all its terms irregardless of their variable values. In this case shall read t = PD / 2 (SEW + PY)
