It's interesting watching you methodically rule out possibilities as you diagnose the cause. Will be really cool if you eventually get this working perfectly!
I would love to have a PET, but my two biggest fears are spending a ton of money on one and then not know what to do that could be fun with it and that I can technically achieve, and the second thing is that a lot of issues with it seems to be quite complicated to troubleshoot, like you are showing.
These PETs just sort of fell into my lap so I couldn't say no. Luckily there is a great community to help trouble shoot if I run out of ideas of how to fix it.
I'm looking forward to seeing this work... in the fall! :)
