Since the name of Jack Conte, who happens to be also the alma mater of Scary Pockets and one of the ones to blame for many of the arrangements, so I thought I'll save someone a google search :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Conte
Simply amazing. Seeing her go from the MJ documentary "This Is It" to auditioning for The Voice KILLED me. She's been a superstar all along. One of the most talented vocalists and musicians of our time.
The piano player, I believe Jack Conte, is also a part of Pomplamoose. I thought the exact same thing when watching their mash up cover of sweets dreams and seven nation army. His joy is contagious!
I wish Ryan Lerman (the other guitarist, Scary Pockets regular) would play more solos. He's such a lyrical soloist with a great vocabulary. Such a modest fella.
this song is an all time favorite since i first heard it. it was mad fun watching you nerd out on the guitar, hearing your insights and giddiness about a song i love makes me love it even more
Teacher! You are brilliant and brave to work, and solving the mystery of WHAT IS! the ScaryPockets artistry! And, YES! the keyboard, Joe Conte, passion and love for this unique arrangement, and massive talent of the impeccable Ms. Hill is contagious!!! Thank you for the lesson.🤩🤗💃
Thanks for the groove Mike! Scary Pockets doing some work! New to them. So soulful. I'm a guitarist also. So this just makes me want to do that slow, funky groove thing all day! Young musicians should take note. This is how it is done! I grew up with music like this every day in my home. Got to rub elbows with a lot of great musicians that played my home town of Youngstown, Ohio. A lot of aspiring musicians want to "shred" on everything they do. Even vocally. My advice is to "slow" down and feel the music.Catch the vibe and ride it out. Scary Pockets did the damn thang! I will be looking at them a lot! Thanks Mike for your chanel and your appreciation of great music.
Imagine this guy's life: Having a genius idea and actually do it and succeed. Now he's just jamming with the band and making incredible music without any financial concerns "normal" musicians have...what a dream
I’ve been a big Judith Hill fan since she was on season four of The Voice (U.S.) which she should have won! At the time I didn’t know she toured with Michael Jackson before that! She has since won a Grammy! What a voice! You should hear her funk cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”! Jack Conte plays keys!
I love your channel bro. Thanks for all your hard work and sacrifice. I'm not a member but I fully support your youtube with views, likes, comments etc. Your as honest and transparent as any creator on yt
Best reaction videos on TH-cam.....hell, on the INTERNET! Your videos are so much fun to experience! I always have a great time watching you watch and react to various videos on TH-cam! Love it! Best so far was your reaction to Zomby Woof with Dweezil and gang doing a magnificent job of playing one of Frank's most difficult pieces! I'm a HUGE Zappa fan, and seeing your reaction was priceless.....just like all of your videos! Unscripted and natural! Always brings a smile to my face!
Scary Pockets has got me through the pandemic (along with Hindley Street Country Club) - listen to Scary's arrangements for Roxanne and Gimme Shelter (Ruth leaves everything in the studio, she is spent on the final note and goes for the 2 octave Merry Clayton moment). - Great tutorial here. Note the Guild M-75 Bluesbird - Scary P
Oh man that live stream with your buddy the other day was terrific! This channel is just outrageous! Learning a lot and finding some great artists. Thanks!
Fantastic breakdown yet again👍 Keep going man I will be forever grateful for you introducing me to Snarky Puppy. Lingus is still my favourite you have ever done your joy is just infectious 😎👍
That was a fabulous cover of this song. Judith's voice is so good. The band is great also. Please check out Josh Radin and Hunter doing a cover of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home To Me" with them. Hunter's voice is to die for.
First time viewer: I don't play guitar or anything else, can't sing, don't know the difference between a flat and a sharp ... but you are a great communicator and I followed it all the way ... thank you! Plus, I'm a Scary Pockets fan, which is what made me click on ... R (Australia)
3:49 Correction - the chord is D7(#9) and (9)! Natural nine - the high e string is in there too. I first heard Sco play this, and I think Prince used it too.
A little trivia that I’m guessing you didn’t know. The keys guy is Jack Conte, he is also the CEO of Patreon. I believe he started it to fund his Scary Pockets channel.
Not exactly. He started it to redefine the business model around independent artists. He started Scary Pockets more recently with his childhood friend Ryan Lerman. Pomplamoose is pretty much managed by his wife Nataly. They have made videos explaining much of this, and Jack is still the nicest fellow who graciously enjoys contributions by all kinds of artists.
MICHAELL it would awesome if you reacted to some brazilian groove ("cacau e braguinha groove duo") or react to the whole song "Os Anjos Te Louvam 10 Anos"
Idk if you’ve done a reaction yet but if you haven’t you need to check out ninth cloud by Zach Bryan or where the wildflowers lay by Kat Hastings! I think that is her name
thanks for the love Michael! ⚡😎👍
you guys are incredible🙌🙌🙌
wow, such great vocals.
Love your funk covers!
That was excellent! New fan! Will be following forever 🙏🔥🔥
Shout out to Jack Conte for getting totally into whatever you are playing. Just like Michael said, infectious!!!! So much fun to watch.
Scary Pockets are the shit. Musicians’s musicians.
Keyboard dude cofounded Patreon and is 1/2 of the band Pomplamoose! He's amazing! edit: As others here have already pointed out... lol.
I did not know this, so we are in the presence of royalty.
Since the name of Jack Conte, who happens to be also the alma mater of Scary Pockets and one of the ones to blame for many of the arrangements, so I thought I'll save someone a google search :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Conte
I DID NOT know that Jack cofounded Patreon! That’s one of the coolest things I’ve learned this week!
Judith is such a beast. She toured with Michael Jackson for awhile singing BGVs. So good.
Such a beast!
Simply amazing. Seeing her go from the MJ documentary "This Is It" to auditioning for The Voice KILLED me. She's been a superstar all along. One of the most talented vocalists and musicians of our time.
Pro's pro, amazing to listen to
The piano player, I believe Jack Conte, is also a part of Pomplamoose. I thought the exact same thing when watching their mash up cover of sweets dreams and seven nation army. His joy is contagious!
He's also the founder (and I think still the CEO) or Patreon.
@@SeldomSeen31 He has a great channel on his own. For any creator.
Love how you get SO technical with your analysis without losing the feel and joy of the music. I enjoy your enjoying each song.
I wish Ryan Lerman (the other guitarist, Scary Pockets regular) would play more solos. He's such a lyrical soloist with a great vocabulary. Such a modest fella.
Part of his job is to generously feature the guests. He gets to arrange and play with all of them! Lucky guy. But yeah, he can do it.
this song is an all time favorite since i first heard it. it was mad fun watching you nerd out on the guitar, hearing your insights and giddiness about a song i love makes me love it even more
Love is the Message at Abby Road by Yussef Dayes, Alfa Mist, Rocco Palladino, and Mansur Brown. I think you would dig this one.
seconded, suggested it a couple of month ago!

This is so cool! Been loving scary pockets for a couple years now and love this cover performance. Your break down of it was really fun to watch. 😎👍
Absolutely love this cover. I have listened to it 100+ times.
What a groove. Wow
Oh, man, the PIPES on Judith! ...and Hagar just sittin' there, giving this thing all the roots a mighty oak could ask for!
Scary pockets!!!!!! best of the best, so groovy it hurts! Thanks for this video Michael!
Scarry Pockets...They Most definitely Can Take Those Cover Tunes and Make Them Hits All over Again 💜💯💥💫🙏.
Thanks for the groove Mike!

Love Scary Pockets and Oz Noy rips!!
Saw Oz right before the lock down in Denver. Great gig and underrated musician.
It gave me the Lowell George chills. Wonderful.
Keyboard player is Jack Conte, CEO of Patreon- the dude is the most enthusiastic person on the Planet, non-stop smiles.

Check Judith’s version of “If U want Me to stay”. TH-cam
This video had me head bobbing and grooving hard. Forced me to go grab my guitar. Great take on this song!
LOVE this song!! And these videos, always exciting watching and learning from ya man!
just got off round and round unsolved problem phone call. Thank you for exactly what I needed to clear brain, reset! 💕🙋🎶🎵📚
Hell of a rabbit hole, thanks Michael!!!
It seems like the keyboard player is usually the happiest piece to the emsemble. Ben "Smiley" Silverstein of The Main Squeeze is a perfect example.
Dude keep doing what ur doing man it’s great !! Seriously amazing stuff!!!

I really like your videos, but in my head I always think "Michael Parmigiano" and then I want pasta
Human beings are highly motivated by food.
Waoooo!!! Judith Hill ♥️💯♥️
I am grateful for the guidance! Thanks buddy!
Man loving where this algorithm takes me. Thank ye Michael and scary pockets!
Great interpretation song and great job!
THANKS MICHAEL!!!!! If you ever have a chance to do California Honeydrops or Alabama Shakes, I would absolutely love it!!!!

FYI the keyboard player's name is Jack Conte and in addition to being an incredible musician he is also the CEO of Patreon.
The scary pockets cover of 'bulletproof' is absolutely the cream of the crop
Wow, thanks for bringing these folks to my attention, man. Found what I'll be listening to for the next few days!
I like how a NASA loving unknown guitar guy is my new hero!
Camping with the boys right now and I just happened to check my phone at the right time and I knew this would be great.
BOOM!
Fantastic breakdown yet again👍
Keep going man I will be forever grateful for you introducing me to Snarky Puppy. Lingus is still my favourite you have ever done your joy is just infectious 😎👍
What an awesome breakdown right away. Nice job Michael
This video isn’t even as old as the length of this video. Exciting!
Never heard of these guys.... But I like it
Ty!
Great one. Love it!
These guys rip!! When I woke up this morning I did not think I’d be listening to a funk cover of an Aerosmith song!, LOL - so good!
Their cover of Give Me Shelter is AMAZING!
Oz is a beast! Saw him in Nashville at 3rd & Lindsey. Great show.
Love your content! I get to enjoy something new and learn more along the way.
This is great! Exactly what I wanna hear...cool sh$t that isn't mainstream...
Legend drum beat! Yeah!

Love this 👍🏼💓👍🏼
Great breakdown.
The song sounds even better if you give it the 'stank face' the whole time you listen.
see u just think you're giving it; no, this song pulls it from your soul and there's no stopping it
Keyboard??....Jack Conte. and yeah! his unbridled enthusiasm and joy on every tune is infectious!!
You the man Mike, love you bro! Keep going to the content, I'll keep watching
Hey Michael, I always look forward to your videos. I would love to see something from Julian Lage’s live in LA show sometime!!
SOON BABY SOON
Judith Hill ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ohh yeah
Would be nice to see some Grand Funk Railroad around here Michael!! All the best!
AGREED. THX!
In Need!!
@@Guitargate can't wait!!!
You are the very best. Thanks for the video
I love all the space the bass player leaves.
Greetings from Finland ☺️🙏❤️
yesss! So happy you did this one!!!
This is not just a reaction video. This is musical analysis by someone who really knows his stuff.
The keyboard player is the inventor of Patrion!
@michael palmisano love you man... never stop!
Oh, Judith Hill. Need I say more. 😁
Mmm hmmmm
Jack Conte (the Scary Pockets band leader) founded Patreon and is also part of Pomplamoose. He's a bonkers musician and an amazing arranger!
Really? Is he the keyboard player?
@@Guitargate Yes!
@@Guitargate Yeah the guy with the full beard goin nuts is Jack.
He's got some awesome videos on his own channel. Love seeing the background, how the layers are formed.
the keyboardist is Jack Conte and he is the co-founder and CEO of Patreon.
Keyboard player is Jack Conte, originally of Pomplamoose. He also is the founder and CEO of Patreon!
This groove reminds me of paulo nutini's live recording of "funk my life up". You should do a reaction on that one as well though!
“Just shake it.”☺️👌🏻
some of the Scary Pockets stuff can seem a bit contrived, but this one was on point. Guest guitar player's Scofield-esk chord work was nasty good.
you know the keys player is the founder of patreon right? his wife is the ceo of pomplamoose - another cool band to check out
I love how you wanted to pause it so many times at the start, but couldn't bring yourself to do it.
I would be ok if he just watched it the whole way through with us, then went back through.
Judith at 6:29. OMG. And Oz Noy anytime OMG. Watch him do Cissy Strut with Keith Carlock and Will Lee. Damn, this whole thing is PHONKY!
B. B. King - The Thrill is Gone (Live at Montreux 1993). Please :)
3:49 Correction - the chord is D7(#9) and (9)! Natural nine - the high e string is in there too. I first heard Sco play this, and I think Prince used it too.

Love your stuff. Wish you would do some Little Feat.
Big fan of Judith Hill.
Feel like I won the lottery today :-)
You need to check out Scary Gouldings with Robin Ford
Yo what the this is goooood
One of my faves from Pomplamoose th-cam.com/video/6LACHm_xd80/w-d-xo.html and hat-tip to Scary Pockets... been following the group for a while.

Can you tell me what gutair wizardy is going on in this song .... In The Cut - Manuel Gardner Fernandes and Tim Henson
Sounds like how Lowell George and Little Feat would've done a cover of Walk This Way.
Way to make it about you dude good job
Mikey, I likey!
Dear God, have I been singing the wrong words since this came out,? Yes. A lot of wrong words!
