The real scandal is that the BBC at one point agreed to pay Gary Lineker ONE MILLION POUNDS A YEAR to introduce a few highlights on autocue once a week. I also like the fact Jermaine Jenas felt the need to announce he won't be returning almost like he expected the country to declare a day of national mourning.

The very first MOTD program was 55 mins long & the intro was given by a continuity announcer introducing the program. The very first match commentry was given by the great Kenneth Wolstenholme, who did the commentry for three years (1964-1967) before David Colman took over. He was given intermittent co-commentry by the ex-Wales & Arsenal player Walley Barnes.
Wolsenholme introduced & closed the program standing on the pitch, no studio, no incessant punditry, who needs them!

@@TommyClif He didn’t call most of the country Nazis.He compared the asylum policy to what Nazi Germany was doing in the 30s.He criticized the government not the people.When the west criticizes the radical Islamist governments of Iran and Saudi Arabia;are we also criticizing Iranians and Saudi Arabians?.
Plus the UK government has contributed to this refugee crisis with it’s illegal and offensive invasion of Iraq,it’s involvement in the Syrian civil war,by supporting dictators in certain countries and by contributing to political instability and poverty in many countries.If they want to be accountable for their mistakes they should process these migrants and allow anybody who doesn’t have a criminal record in their home country has someone in the UK who’d be willing to take financially support them until they can support themselves to stay.
@@rouskeycarpel1436 well the majority of the country believes in protecting its boarders and agrees that people who enter illegally should be sent back, my grandfather was an immigrant and my great grandfather on the other side fought against the nazis, both of them would agree with this government policy. Why don’t you open the boarders to your house then and let anyone in see how that goes for you
