Dude I got my Tao DB17 today! Putting it together and upgrading the carb. It came in with a broken lever on the handle bar, so I am waiting on a replacement. I can't wait to get out riding it. Your videos helped a lot on putting it together. Thanks!

53 is sketchy for pitbikes lol I love my little apollo x5 with a stage 3 hits over 55+ basically 60mph because of the stage upgrade components. Same sprockets. But funny thing is it's a 12 inch by 14 inch lol
Buy a 126 link 420 chain (or whatever stock U have) and get a chain breaker and a few spare chain links. You can change length for which sprocket you want to run. Chain breaker is good investment just don't lend it to friends who don't know how to use lol

I reckon to big for his 125cc. 70+ is nice well done. 22mm is big for 125cc but 26mm would be ok for bigger cc

Rpm gives you speed. I'm getting more from a 14t and heavier electronic start version (kick start version should be quicker) so don't go more than a 15/16T and learn how to tune carby. I'm using stock 19mm Keihin carby on middle needle clip setting and play with mixture using GPS app (all bikes I sell have Keihin but Chinese works better as bigger main jet stock lol)

Also look Into changing the cables out with better quality ones I can't confirm it'll fix it but I'll try one day after I finish my street legalize bs cause it's nerve wrecking.

I got a 50cc baja dirtrunner with a carb upgrade and some carb tweaks with some ethanol boost idk if the ethanol helped but the thing was shooting oil out the side it was running so hard :)

What’s up bro!!! The real reason for the chain is the length. The chain that comes with the Tao was too short. The replacement is longer. I took about 4 links off the new chain and it was a perfect fit. Good luck upgrading your Tao Tao🤙🏼

Yea man, I’m not too happy about this video. First I kept getting the wrong parts so that made things drag out for like 4 weeks. Finally when I got the right equipment. I filmed the chain removal, the re installing of the chain, grinding the box down and putting it back together. I went to play a back the last clip in my camera and realized that the memory card took a shit and encrypted all that footage. I tried re formatting the footage, I downloaded software to try and re cover footage but I did not have any luck with that. Look on TH-cam for how to remove chain links. Grinding the housing was pretty easy just use a file and and some elbow grease. I Would also recommend a little Dremel tool for faster grinding results. Hope this helps homie!!!
Hey man about a year ago I bought a Tao Tao DB17 tbh I love the bike but I bought a 19T gear lol 😂 I got it to fit and I’ll tell you what it’s so much faster now than it’s ever been also I bought a performance carburetor for the Tao with a new intake with my height and weight I got up too 58-59MPH if you are wondering how I got it to fit I’ll email you some pictures and what I did.

A larger front sprocket upgrade was a great upgrade for my TaoTao TBR7, in fact so much so, it was the first upgrade I did for my Boom Vader Gen 2.
