Watching you from Vancouver, BC. I love that hotel’s design concept. I was born in Taipei but left Taiwan at 13 years old so never had the chance to see anywhere south of Taipei really. I am seeing Taiwan through the lens of TH-camrs. Thank you very much for taking your viewers on your trips.
When it comes to budget planning, it is always good to have a good friend 'to be in the denominator'. Not only it reduces the cost, but someone to share happy time is the most precious.
1000% !! Usually I travel weekdays though so there is less people (better for filming) and most of my friends work. I just really lucked out this time with my beautiful friend ✨
Aw Taichung ! My home for ten years ! I lived in the area right around that tea house and have been there many times . Beautiful video and made me homesick !
Hey Jenn, the editing of this video is perfection! I was born in Taiwan but moved to Australia after primary school. I've felt so detached from what I used to call home. Your videos are making me so excited to explore it when I eventually get to return. Keep up the amazing work 😍
Thank you for letting me travel with you to Taiwan through your camera lense on TH-cam! I really miss my country TAIWAN! From a fallow Taiwanese/Canadian. 🥰
There are many cultural buildings in Taichung, but recently there have been fewer foreign tourists due to the pneumonia epidemic, but there are also many old houses in Taichung City.
I am so happy I get to travel and explore !! I wish I could have done it more in Japan bit I was working everyday and also, it’s not safe there because of covid
You must be very welcomed in Taiwan. Your numbers of subscribers and viewers increased dramatically in such a short time after you moved to Taiwan!!! Congrats 🎉🎈🍾🎊
I love the idea of you always giving a breakdown on cost of these trips in Taiwan. It is informative for us the overseas Chinese wishing to make a trip at Taiwan in the future
your videos are so cool. so cool that you went to yizhong night Market as well. went there lots of time when I was in Taichung. did you get the watermelon juice from the stand near the 7-eleven? across from booths that sell shoes and fashion accessories?
Thank you so much for another amazing video 😍😍 completely jealous!!! My partner and I want to come back to Taiwan again.. Taichung was one of our favourite places to have a short trip ❤️❤️
"Paojue Temple" in Taichung, Taiwan is a temple loved by Japanese people Paochueh Temple: Not only is it a happy golden Buddha, but it is also because it has a deep connection with Japanese people. On the premises, there is also the "Fraternity Bell Tower" where a large bell presented by the Japanese is placed, and a memorial monument to Taiwanese Japanese soldiers during World War II.
Actually we do have a word called "第二個胃" or "另一個胃" means you have "the second stomach" or "the extra stomach" for dessert. "牛的胃"(cow's stomach) actually means another thing, it means you have a huge stomach so you can eat A LOT.
that's so funny - the different sayings for having room to eat more. We always say: " (name/he/she) has a hollow leg"= so your first meal went into your leg and you have room for more (in your stomach). lol
@@Reformatt As a resident in Taichung, I'm a big fan of your channel. Thank you for filming and promoting Taiwan in such a interesting and subtle way 🙏😘🙇🇹🇼
I am actually surprised that the entire trip cost you £107. Such a great bargain. This vlog was such an insight to Taiwan. I wonder how much a trip would be to Taipei.
After watching your videos and doing a bit of research, Taiwan is at the top of my places to visit now. It is incredibly cheap for all the amazing things it has to offer! Thanks for the tips and breakdown of prices (Euro here).
Wow, you and Ruth really pack a lot into one day. Taichung really has a lot of great places to visit. When I was there I didn't get to see so many places. I didn't even know about the Rainbow Village. It is definitely on my list for next time though. Did you get to meet up with LifeinTaiwan or Prozzie or any of the other TH-camrs that live there?
Nice to include the budget information (my BBA is in Finance) Trips can be on many levels of budget, and it is nice to go somewhere and do something and the budget doesn't have to limit anyone (much) You can have a high, medium, or low budget and still do amazing things.
Exactly!! Some of my trips too I feel too range in budgets. Like my Yilan trip for me was expensive but worth it. I’m about to spend a few days in Penghu so, thag will also be an expensive trip!

Interesting! I didn’t realize but I know 4 is unlucky in Taiwan because in Chinese is sounds like “death”. Same with in Japanese, 4 is unlucky. That could be why!! I don’t truly know however
@@LayersOfJenn That was my thought as well. It's similar to how some buildings in the US skip the 13th floor. Hopefully someone will be able to confirm our theory.
The Chinese text 開延長 means to extend the door opening time, so it's actually the door hold button. And yeah 4 is an unlucky number just as Jenn said. You won't see the 4th floor especially in hospitals.
The Rainbow Village and the story behind it is really cool. 15:19 That whole day only cost $150 USD!?!? I'm gonna be living it up if I ever go to Taiwan.

Uber is good for if you don’t have cash & want to pay by some kind of card etc. Also you type in exactly where you want to go so, no talking is necessary. Also, you pin point on their map ahead of time so there isn’t a chance for the driver to get lost. Also uber sometimes has coupons. When we were in Taichung, uber had a $40 coupon off on all our rides 👌🏻 But I use cabs sometimes too if uber says “no cars available” and/or I’m with a friend.
