- A shiny I never thought I'd get legitimately - Shiny Jirachi from the US Colosseum Bonus Disc!!! This is easily in my top 5 shinies found, easily. I'm so happy to add this to my collection. I love the pink hue on the body, it looks incredible.
There was always a lot of doubt about whether this could be hunted or not. I feel like we've made a lot of progress in recent years as to what is attainable and who knows what else there is to discover. I've had this bonus disc for the best part of a decade now and I have used Jirachi several times in casual playthroughs. It's very broken but very fun. This shiny is #1 for my new Ruby Dream Team Quest.
I'm sure there will be a lot of questions about this method. So feel free to comment on my video or The Domination's videos for assistance.
I initially started this hunt with the standard method of playing through the game and getting the dex. I did around 500 encounters with it but being honest, it was like pulling teeth. I only single hunt my targets so I wanted to try the faster method. I also wanted to avoid an uncatchable as I can't stand the concept of uncatchable shinies. There's a chance of a random shiny starter I guess but I'd much rather avoid the uncatchable.

Edit: On your question if you can send the shiny Whishmaker Jirachu up through Bank and the Home, I have heard that you used to not be able to but after a “recent” update to bank (that was a few years ago), you can now. I have also seen people with RNG abused/hacked shiny Whishmaker Jirachis in Sword & Shield. HOWEVER, I have not seen any actual video evidence that it can be sent up but maybe I will have to try and clone mine to test whenever I get around to hunting it. So hopefully that helps anyone who is curious. I would say you can send it up but do so at your own risk!

The update was due to a shiny Jirachi event in gen 6. So they had to remove the shiny block from Jirachi, which allowed the legit Wishmakers through that they'd previously blocked.

This method is one of my favorites because of how much it changed this hunt and the ingenuity of it. It feels like one of those super niche pieces of tech a speedrunner would master to improve a run, and it's awesome to be able to apply that to a discipline that feels simultaneously in the same vein as speedrunning while also being the antithesis of it - the grind of shiny hunting.

@@radio-future I actually ended up finding it a little over a month from when I posted that comment! Did an insane average of like 280+ resets a day, everyday and ended up getting it a little over 22k.

@@radio-future I've never tried, I don't play Emerald much due to its broken rng and I love reset hunts. I've heard that it isn't even possible to transfer Jirachi from the bonus disc to Emerald, though I haven't tried to do it myself. Emerald came out after colusseum so I would assume not.

I've been following your shiny hunting adventures here on youtube for a couple years now; and needless to say, you've got some VERY impressive ones over the years..but this one is on a different level of dedication. I wasn't aware of the different bonus discs and the existence of unique Jirachis. It's a hunt that I definitely want to do in the future but I'll need to purchase the equipment first and might take a long while.

Shiny Jirachi is a magnificent one, I love the black marks around its red eyes and that pallet pink in its body really suits it.

I am sooo happy that this method was discovered. I got Jirachi myself last year after 1947. Already wrote it on Twitter but really big GG! Think it's nice that such a rare hunt is becoming more and more popular. And you're now one of the few people who have shiny Manaphy and Jirachi. What an achievement!!

Congratulations!!! So much dedication. Jirachi is my favourite Pokémon and I managed to obtain my own shiny WISHMKR one back in 2020. I did use RNG manipulation but even with that it took me almost 2 months of “hunting” it. It’s one of the hardest shinies to obtain. I collected every possible ribbon on it and it’s currently sitting on my Ultra Sun game. Congrats again!!! I admire you for your patience and full odds hunts.
Did the shiny transfer up thru Pokémon bank without any problems? Also is it possible to be transferred into Pokémon home? I Would really love to hunt this but I want to have all my shinnies together in Pokémon Home.
