I fall in love of this channel, i learnt how to convert image to cpp code, how to use woki website to emulate projects, how to make lcd characters and many other topics. Very rich content. Salute from Morocco 👍🏻👍🏻
That´s great to hear, thank you for your nice comment and I hope you will learn even more stuff. Greetings to Morocco and good luck with your projects!
Could the microbit board read information from a VESC then display it on a nextion display? Not sure if you are familiar with VESC, it is sorely lacking nice information displays.
@boardinrider if it had support for serial, it might be possible to use it directly with the Nextion display. Otherwise, you would just put Arduino in between and use either serial or canbus. Are you using the VESC for anything?
What would you estimate the total cost of this project was? Did you end up putting it in any kind of housing so it could be mounted or protected? Very cool video!
Isn't it possible to just have one image for pitch and roll where you could animate its rotation instead of having multiple images with different values?
Nice, I kinda need to dig into that bbc board, sadly haven't paid enough attention, looks like it isn't as limited in functionality as I thought that "kids learning board" will be
I think the microbit is quite underrated. It´s a nice little board, easy to use, with a lot of sensors and you can get the project up and running in no time. For simple projects, I enjoy this board quite a lot.
@@upir_upir I'm thinking about using these sensors sold for home automation, I'm going to research what is the easiest way to obtain the data, I believe it's mqtt
Thank you for this tutorial. I personally would rather use a plain 2.8 inch display since it will be easier for me to work with and give me more control and customization, but i could only do that in Arduino. I think Adafruit has made a Micro Bit Arduino boards package.
Do you like this video? Please consider buying me a coffee, thank you! www.buymeacoffee.com/upir
You need some sort of low pass filter on the movement to prevent it jumping about when stable.
Yep, I’m sure there are many ways how to improve the project. If there will be enough interest, I might record part 2…
Exponential Smoothing is another schema and works for me with Arduino from a noisy joystick/potentiometer.
@@strongme80 Exponential smoothing is a lowpass filter
@@TimeFadesMemoryLasts Yeah, you're right. Thanks!
A kalman filter would be better suited for this
Upir means new tools, new tricks, new life, Thank you very much ♥♥
You are surely welcome, I´m glad you like it!

Can you make a tutorial on how how to actually generate the different angles for the gauge sweep?
Yes, I will try to record such video.
I would really love to see that because I failed in more than one attempt...
Congratulations! Your channel is one of the best and with the best explanations. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Thank you for your nice comment, I´m glad you find it helpful! Is there any particular topic that you might be interested in?
Wow didn't know this existed.. the GUI is amazing
Thank you, I’m glad you like it!
Hi Upir, can the centrifugal force of the curve influence the lateral roll measurement ?
I think it does. I would like to test it, since I would like to know if that could be used a tilt indicator for motorcycle.
@@upir_upir ok I'll wait for your results, cause I need to do the same thing for my bike. Bye
Sounds like a plan!

I´m not familiar with VESC. What types of communication does that unit supports?
@upir_upir serial, canbus, analog, ppm VESC is an open source brushless motor controller used for everything from boats to cars to bikes to aircraft.
@boardinrider if it had support for serial, it might be possible to use it directly with the Nextion display. Otherwise, you would just put Arduino in between and use either serial or canbus. Are you using the VESC for anything?

How do you get the outline of a car like that?
google image search "your car" + blueprint
@@upir_upir thanks!

Unfortunately, it is not possible for this display. The Nextion is quite limited in what it can do/draw, but it´s cheap and easy to use.
Nice project, well thought through.

Can we take small display for it ????
Yes, you can use any Nextion display, but you would need to adjust the graphics accordingly.
Typically awesome tutorial...cheers !
Thank you!
Could you make a cool screen to display 3 or 4 thermometers (wifi/sonoff) on one screen using esp (to be wifi too)?
Do you have an idea of which thermometers to use? I can surely do the display part, not quite sure about the communication between the modules..

Embedded system with Blockly?? Wow, bold idea ;)
I feel like Blocky is highly underrated, like being just for kids, but I actually quite enjoy building stuff in Blockly :)

For some reason my comment won’t save. I don’t know why. Do you have another way for me to tell you? TH-cam appears to have terrible code problems.
Do you have a blog ?
No. Just this small youtube channel. But all the source files are on GitHub.
