Gary released this version during the pandemic when we were losing healthcare workers, families, friends to Covid and we felt so helpless. How can you grieve and say goodbye when the rite of passing could not be celebrated. This song in its simplicity held so much solace.

So true. He performed The Light rock version with BGYO and he was able to dance and sing with the youngsters, even doing the iconic jumps that require a lot of energy/stamina. Mr Pure Energy indeed!

Im not a religious person. But Gary V and this song got me a bit teary-eyed when I watched it during Covid. It’s a song for those who need help and feel as no help is coming.

Gary V is truly a gift. He is one of those rare artists who sings each and every song with heart. I’ve been blessed to watch him live at a few of his concerts and man, he gets me each and every time. From ballads to upbeat songs, he makes you feel the music. I truly believe he was born for the stage and to bring joy to others through music. With all his talent and success through the years, he still seems so sincere and humble when he performs and interacts with his fans. Hey guys :) Sir Gary Valenciano has a tour this September-October 2023 in the US and Canada. I REALLY REALLY hope you get to see him perform LIVE. I've only ever seen him sing live twice in my life and both times were definitely unforgettable. You simply MUST see him perform at least once in your life! :)

Thank you for a wonderful review/ reaction . I watch you everyday. I wasnt able to follow your trip to the philippines , whether you were able to watch ASAP Natin To, its a Sunday musical show in abs-cbn, where singers like Gary V, Martin Nievera, Darren Espanto, Regine Velasquez, KZ Tandingan and many more artists perform for two hours... Gary V is seasoned artist. You might also check MARTIN NIEVERA. They used to have concerts together during their prime. Martin has also really really great vocals. On one of their concerts they did medley songs which are really great.
He's coined Mr. Pure Energy: The Total Performer for a reason... This is not just an empty title. He's always been a great "mover". His voice & body's synchrony has always astounded and inspired countless fans, whether he's singing or dancing or both we always follow...
This is Gary V's own composition. I watched his concert in my teenage year, then a few years back here in Montreal when he visited, got a pick with him. Been a fan even since he started in the 80's...

Ive seen him in person and followed him through out my high school life and he has the most incredible talent ever but most of all when you get to meet him he's the most kindest heart and has the most genuine soul. In his many years in the industry, he has remained humble, God-loving and God-fearing despite the fame he has achieved through the years. He has remained an artist at ABS-CBN despite the network's franchise fallout...you can see him regularly on its Sunday's noontime variety show ASAP Natin 'To with Regine V. Alcasid, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera and usually with some of the Philippines' best singers like KZ Tandingan, Morissette Amon, Elha Nimfa, Gigi de Lana, etc... If you come to the Philippines again, try watching him perform in person and do an interview. It would be fun to see you with him!

I grew up with this song from the 80s he's 59 now and his voice has obv mellowed. But man, you should should see him belt this out back in his late 20s - whew you would've been blown away 🙌

Thank you for another reaction to Gary V. As someone mentioned already, this is his original song from the mid-80s when he became a born-again Christian and this particular performance was released during the pandemic when everyone was in lockdown. I could see how drawn in you both were during this reaction. Gary V is another one of those singers who has that gift of being the song itself when he performs. It also helps that he also wrote this song because, as he said in another podcast, when you write your own song and record it (versus interpreting a song written by someone else), that in itself is your signature/autograph regardless if that sone becomes a commercial hit or not. Spoken like a true artist indeed!
You were right in saying that Gary is (has been) doing well in his career. He is a veteran in the OPM industry with a career that spans 40 years now. I'll send links in the request form for some of his concerts from the 90s that can be found in YT so you can also appreciate his performance style. He also appeared in the podcast of the Herrera's as a guest. When your podcast is open to have guests on board, please keep him in mind. He has performed here in the US and all over the world, mostly to Filipino crowds. He did guest and perform a number of times for the 700 Club and other Christian based groups here in the US as well. There was a time back in the late 80s to mid-90s when he worked with a Christian music producer for a potential career here in the US but we didn't know what happened behind the scenes back then. But even though that didn't pan out, his career in the Philippines continued to soar and he is now one of the legitimate icons in OPM. Hope to see more of him in your reaction videos. And more power to your channel for supporting OPM and P-pop artists!

This is my ultimate favorite song from Mr. Gary V. He is one of the best singers in the Philippines! A multi talented individual!!! This song helps me during the pandemic. You listen to this song, and you will be uplifted and magnetized. He sings like he is telling you a story.

Gary V is an inspirational talent and it took him time to be known to be honest. But when he did, oh wow. He can sing, he's also a wonderful dancer and a gifted composer. He's also a true Christian and he expresses it in the songs that he wrote. This song was released in the early 90's and was re-released during the pandemic when the world was in darkness. Would you believe he's 58 yeard old? He's battled diabetes all his life, had a bypass operation, learned he has kidney cancer,survived kidney cancer and he has been sustained by his faith.
The first time I watched his rendition of this, it made me cry.
This video came out during Italy's first Covid-19 lockdown and I was watching it just a few mins when it was uploaded. I was sobbing like a baby feeling alone and vulnerable. Those were tue intense moments Ive been through.

This video was released during the pandemic and he purposely hid his face for us to enjoy the purity of the message and song. This specific rendition also allows us to have that conversation within us wh's been affected by the pandemic. I still tear up whenever I hear this.

This is one of my favorite christian songs. I may not be that religious, but since i grew up going to catholic/christian private schools since nursery to college, it's normal for me to sing these kings of songs. But there r very heartfelt & catchy christian songs, and this one by Gary V is top notch. And this would always make me teary eyed & reflect on things i've done recently and things i needed to do today, tomorrow. Like i am reminded to be grateful. Ahh.. Such an effective voice, impression, lyrics, everything.

He already did 2 heart surgeries. When he was lying on the bed for his 2nd operation, he said "Lord, I am here again." He heard a voice responded to him saying "Yes, and I am here again." just goosebumps. I watched it from his interview.

All these singers Lea, Mori, Katrina Velarde, Gigi de Lana, and many more were doing home recordings and uploading them live.
