I've seen him all 4 times he came here to Jacksonville, Florida in concert and each time I had the opportunity to meet him and take pictures by purchasing VIP passes. He's so humble, patient, and really makes time for all his fans. He always makes sure everyone is happy. He is a shining light and help brighten this world. His first concert was Hataw Na and he signed my poster. Years later, I brought back that same poster to sign it again and he actually remembered signing it for the first time. I was very impressed. But i was most impressed when his handlers were trying to get him back to his dressing room, and he asked them to stop because he was talking to his fans. Then I felt bad because he just performed and was sweaty, thirsty, and hungry. I'll never forget that short but wonderful conversation with him that day backstage. Many people over the years have told me that he likes to sing for all the passengers when he flies commercial. In fact, I believe there is at least one video uploaded on TH-cam of one of his impromptu airplane performances. The flight crew are always happy to give him the microphone. What a classy guy.

Yes, people in the music & film industry refers to him as “SIR Gary”.
He wrote this song in 1988, since he is already an active Christian then, he has also written and sung many Gospel songs years later.
He posted this particular video last March 2020 in the height of the pandemic to remind everybody that God will never forsake us if we will just put our trust in him.

"This song is special to me simply because this is my very first inspirational composition. This is the first and only song with all the music already recorded and with me ready to do the vocals the only problem was there were no lyrics to put none! But the studio was waiting for me and I was waiting for some sort of inspiration to strike me like lightning and it did. I prayed and asked God to bless me with lyrics"
This song is all about repentance, faith, salvation & having personal relationship with the Lord.
He composed by Gary V. and released in 1988. He won an Awit Award for Best Inspirational/Religious Recording' He sang this again as a prayer in his home studio during the lockdown period. In May 2018, Valenciano started feeling ill after a performance with his son Gabriel for the celebration of his 35th anniversary in showbiz in ABS-CBN's top-rating Sunday afternoon show, ASAP, and had to undergo open-heart surgery due to blockage of his left anterior descending artery caused by his diabetes. The procedure was successfully performed on May 6, 2018. On July 5,2019, he declared he was free of cancer on his right kidney which was operated on and he did not need chemotherapy. A 6cm mass was removed.

Gary V is such a very generous person. He had been through a lot.. from having to deal with a broken family, from the feeling of a biracial child, from growing up in a foreign place, from his struggles in his music career, from his personal health condition. That's why when he found Jesus, it was literally, his eureka moment. Like he found the pearl of a great price. I'm pretty sure, if you can find a way to guest him in your podcast, he'd be delighted to grace your show. So i just hope and pray that somehow God will let that happen. He'll have of plenty of words and experience to share.

It’s his original composition written many years ago and then he sung it again during the early days of the pandemic to give encouragement and hope, this video is not a performance to showcase his talent and he IS extremly talented, one of the greatest here in the Philippines, but somehow this video he made was more of a worship, a prayer actually so you were right when you said it felt like intruding into something so personal, i believe it’s also the reason why it touches our core when you listen to it.

This song always makes me cry. At times, I tend to question HIM on why HE took both my parents from me early in 2020 but I know that it is HIS will. I'm praying and seeking for wisdom and understanding. Glad that you guys did a reaction on this and released it on Jan 7 - my mom's 1st birthday in heaven. ♥

Listening to this song brought tears to my eyes..still one of my favorite Christian/praise songs that will cheer you up when you feel you are at the lowest point in your life..so inspirational..
You should see the reactions of other vloggers about this video. They were literally all crying. They were so overwhelmed by the lyrics and the performance of Gary V. FYI this is an old song. It's one of his famous songs. As far as I can remember he has been singing this for 30 years and a source of inspiration for many Filipinos.
Gary V. started his career as a pop singer/dancer. He was dubbed as the Michael Jackson of the Philippines because of his awesome dance moves that he still can do up to this day, noting the fact that he is now a grandfather. Because of this he is also known as Mr. Pure Energy. All of his concerts are jampacked everytime. Almost all of his songs were hits be it a dance song, ballad or a gospel song since he is a Born Again Christian and a very religiuos one at that. He even made religiuos themed dance songs that became hits, like "Shout For Joy", "Hataw Na", and many others. He also does great theme songs for movies and TV series. He even starred in some movies before and I can tell you that he is a really good actor too.
He made a short stint in the US about 15 years ago and even made an album for a US label but sadly at that time it is very difficult to make it big in the US if you are asian. But here in his home country the Philippines, we always look forward to his songs and performances because he really is a great artist and an Icon of the music industry. He also helps other artists in the industry.

I love Gary V so much!💖 I've been a big fan & a follower of him since day one. I love all his songs & performances! He's really a complete & total performer because apart from singing, he can also dance so well, compose songs, play a lot of instruments, etc. He's also a great host & genuinely a good Christian. That video was specially made for the people during the pandemic. He's a great and very inspiring artist. This song was made by him many years ago. He's gone through a lot of difficulties himself. I remember, he suffered from diabetic coma and thankfully has recovered.

Gary V was my first filipino singer I watched live in the 80s in chicago and since then I've been a fan and this was one of the songs he sang and it was AMAZING and just unforgettable!!!
Gary V is one of the best artist I have grew up on. He writes and sings the best songs this world needed to hear. No matter what your beliefs are, once you hear his songs of praise, you will feel something move inside you. Your heart, mind and soul will feel that overwhelming emotions like you will feel at peace within.

Many people prayed for Gary V when he was hospitalized and almost died coz of heart complication as a result of his juvenile diabetes. I was one of those who prayed so hard for him to recover and be back performing for us. I cannot imagine this world without Sir Gary. He is one of OPM's foundations alongside Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha and Lea Salonga.

Gary is very thankful for what he consider as his 2nd life, he wrote the song year 1988 and he dedicate his life to God thru his songs. Then this pandemic came, he again perform this as a universal prayer for everyone that reminds us how are we thru our ups & downs and most especially a message that we should not only remember our Lord God in times of need.
oh this song always makes me cry. part of it is awe seeing such strong faith and part of it is guilt because I feel like every year I could have been a better person in many ways yet I was not able to do it.

Gary V. was the main guest performer in our Toyota Albay, Phils. grand opening in 2019. First time seeing him perform live. He lived up to his name, Mr. Pure Energy, played all the instruments and of course, you watch him sing and dance - he's one of the best dancers in the country, you know. He's awesome!
