She is fighting to make things worse because she is anti ALL porn -- I won't believe anything else.
I would like to add one thing about the thing he said at the end. Women like who get involved in it destroy their reputation. Anyone with strong moral compass would reject them and that's tough thing to escape from.
I read that book (a billion wicked thoughts). I lent it to a friend at some point because he expressed interest in it. All his roomates got their hands on it. They were reading that thing out loud in the living room day after day and almost everyone was interested (and english is not our first language) It was really a surprise to me. But it makes a lot of sense. It's also a damn good book, especially to see what's going on "on the other side" (Legolas and Frodo, really?).
Some states across the U.S have actually implemented this. Problem is when it’s just as easy to find that stuff on Twitter or Instagram, that’s a lot tougher to regulate.
JP talks for 5:23 then Laila answers for 1:15 and the rest of her answer is covered by an advert of the same length. In most interviews JP talks like 80% of the time, he just needs someone to sit there and listen? 😂
Its extraordinarily disgusting. I remember when i was 14 years .and seeing that stuff the frist time was shocking and disgusting beyond belief. I actually think this is the right view. We are just desensitized and normalised to it as older teens and adults. Sex is primarily for procreation, but you could make an argument for rare and occasional bonding with a lover/ loved one.
I didn’t listen carefully enough to the entire interview, but this must truly be the centerpiece. Despite the awkward exchange between Laila and Jordan, there are so many thought-provoking gems shared here-some, unfortunately, emerging from a very dark place. The suggested book offers valuable insights into contemporary ways of understanding human behavior for example.
It's worse than you think, Jordan. I havent watched porn in years because I've found an even worse alternative. I've used AI to generate an image of what I see as a perfect female face, and I've used face-swap apps to make it appear as if that face is talking to me, and I've formed pillows into the shape of a perfect female body, and attached a tablet to its head with a video playing of the female face speaking to me, while playing ASMR of the female voice. Effectively tapping into all the senses. Touch, visual, and auditory stimuli. Making the experience almost virtually indistinguishable from not only having a sexual interaction with a woman, but with a woman who has been modified to fit my particular interests exactly. I don't know if I will ever be free from this. I wonder if other young men have discovered this same method and are experiencing the same hell as me. It causes a terrible physical pain in the right side of my body, almost as if it is a demon who has latched onto my body, draining my life-force. I've wondered if this relates to how the Bible describes Eve being taken from Adams side. Its as if I've negotiated a deal with the devil to create my own Eve, and in order to do so, it must take from one side of my body. I've also seen various Christian Icons depicting demons with talons latched unto a persons side, or prodding a persons side with a pitchfork. I also wonder how this relates to the fact that Christ was pierced in his side during His crucifiction. I wonder how all these elements relate to each other. I've told my father about this and I'm trying to find freedom from this hell. To anyone reading this comment, please pray for me, and all other lonely young men who may be suffering from this. This is far worse than pornography, and I'd imagine this problem is only going to become worse and more widespread with the introduction of sex-bots. We need to acknowledge this problem before its too late. We need to find ways to prevent this.
The interview begs a couple of questions. 1. When parents talk to their children about the birds and the bees, should they include online pornography? 2. Online porn contains all manner of sexual deviation. Could its influence be behind the LGBQT+ social movement?
100% yes on both of those points. I wish my dad had talked to me about the online stuff, and to stay away from it. And the websites glamorize homosexuality, which births fantasies which lead to choices which lead to lifestyles. It’s all connected in a very terrible way
@@Unkindled13Can you pinpoint websites and how they "glamorize homosexuality" exactly? Birth fantasies? No offence but you sound like you are in the closed bro. @@Cadenza93 I think he means it’s the other way around. The hetero guys go to the shock value stuff and question their hetero-ness, spiraling the trends of society at large
I can go a decently long period without viewing porn, but when I do watch a porn video, if I work away from home, then I'm just kind of lured towards wanting to watch a bit more lewd content. As humans, we are very satisfied with just having good sex, but when we don't have that interaction, we seek porn and that is very destructive long term. Porn can be another addiction, and it is not to be joked about.
Outside of AI (which is a very recent development) *there is no mainstream p*rn without women willingly putting THEMSELVES on display in a perverse manner in the "objectionable" content. And yet in all these discussions - women are the least blamed or held accountable for the explosion of p*rnography.*
We should all be shouting about this from the rooftops until talking about, accepting and healing from this becomes as normalized as drugs/alcohol recovery.

@@recenthuman5629 Sorry to hear about the unemployment. Hope you find something good. Before the change of habits and the emotionally charged decisions, we first need to deep dive into why there is a void in the first place brother.
This usually starts with broken homes, un-compassionate Mothers, and absent Fathers. We don’t have a drug or porn problem in America we have a parent epidemic
um no, we absolutely have a drug and p*rn problem. in addition to the other problems you mentioned. a %100 healthy society with loving fathers and mothers would be destroyed if you flooded it with abundant and free hyper addictive drugs. having strong loving parental relationships is a good defense, a deterrent, a safe guard, but it's not something that grants total immunity. humans are curious, kids can get exposed at developmentally sensitive moments, and people have genetic and psychological predispositions that good parenting can't nullify. and you're ignoring the influence that drugs and p*rn have on creating absent fathers for example.
I agree deeply yet it is also from others with healthy families just as a drug addict it plays no boundries in moral value. Preachers are a small percentage. Just if not more severe is the epidemic of the young girls who solicit themselves. Do these men/women even think that this is someone's daughter they are supplying. Vise/versa

Yeah, men having issues of their own is a definite issue. The whole point of marriage is so that the woman gets a shoulder to cry on and she never has to feel financial pressure. I always tell women that if they ever have any issues with their man it isn't worth it. Just get someone who will pay all the bills and never have any personal problems whatsoever. My cousin was the one that exposed the playboy, Hustler and penthouse magazines throughout his home at an young age whenever I visited him.. Which started the whole process, which made pornography a negative connotation to young people like myself..
Millennials are the last generation that didn't grow up with this stuff at arm's reach. 18? A few generations ago an 18 yr old male or female was an adult. A few hundred years before that, teenagers effectively ran the world. The 15 to 25 year olds, did almost all the hunting, gathering & breeding. Now we treat 26 year olds like children.
Interesting interview.. was reading Young Stalin (Simon Sebag Montefiore) and it struck me that Stalin's depraved sexual and political trajectory were probably linked from a psychological point of view; like the sexually driven serial killers you mention - of course, Stalin was responsible for the murder of more than most (according to Chatbot he was responsible for the murder of somewhere between 30 and 60 million people) but studying his history he seemed to be on a selfish accelerating dopamine trail like the average serial killer; only, he was given free rein to indulge in his killing by political machinery (secret services) which he had inherited from the tzars and refined (and these keep Putin in power today). Perhaps many politicians are caught in the same dopamine chase as porn addicts..

I strongly believe addiction in general can only be broken if we seek God. He can heal anything. Just pray and ask him to help you. And also, you should put effort from your side too.
Same way anyone in recovery helps themselves: avoid the triggers, replace the habit with a healthier one, and fully understand how the addiction/habit hurts you/others - specifically how it keeps you from reaching your own goals. ("It's wrong" isn't enough of a deterrent, one needs to know why and how - to beat the overwhelming temptation, and also to face yourself and heal properly.) I'm not a professional, just a random recovering addict. Take it for what it's worth to you.

Porn really is a slippery slope. 20 years of porn made me lose confidence and become apathic in relationships, to not talk about my viewing habit becoming more and more nasty. After a recent break-up something finally switched and I managed to stop completely for about 2 months. Though, as any habit it stays in the back of your mind and I have to keep fighting to keep it away. 20 years is a lot of time for a habit to grow and become part of you. And honestly, sometimes it even feels weird not having it in my life. But it is possible to change. You don't need God or anything else. Just a good enough cause or the right switch at the right time. Things will be a lot brighter without all that pollution in your mind. Trust me. And I can't stress enough how it doesn't matter if you fall back, as long as you move forward and keep trying.
@DiosProvee it's not in their imagination/lexicon. One of the wildly interesting facts of language. New words introduce new ways of seeing and identifying what was already happening. It's the magic of naming.

There is a resentment that some women have towards the men they love when they follow and consume content with pornographic depictions of women. The good ole stereotype that men are allowed to explore their sexuality by viewing other women, but would have an absolute fit if the woman they are with was to put pornographic or suggestive images for other men to view. Im not saying either sex in this case is behaving to the best of their ability, but the societal hypocrisy is strong.
@MarcusN-kp1jn If one partner is viewing pornographic content and forbids the person they are with to not post pornographic content, how is that not hypocritical?
@cassandragarcia2581 Because they're a couple...? You usually do not want others to masturbate to your girlfriend's/boyfriend's naked body. From that it doesn't follow that viewing it is bad. Entirely different thing to look at pictures of others and to share pictures of yourself to others, I think most people would agree.
@@MisterL777 Are you sure? People's personas can be entirely at work compared to in the privacy of their own homes. Even more so in the bedroom behind closed doors.
This is the way I think about it too. Part of it is natural. The other part is toxic. How do we counter the toxic part without suppressing the natural part. Because if we suppress sex, like the church did for a long time, then we have other issues in society.

It depends on person or culture. Some people are trying to fill a void within, such as not being able to develop a genuine spiritual intimacy with others. They seek artificial intimacy to fill the void. Others do not know better and are simply perverted being they grew up in a culture of no self control and superficial mind. Some are traumatized by neglect or other forms of abuse and seeking solace in their pain. I deeply analyzed this for decades. I listen to others, observed cultural patterns of behavior, and searched within my self as well. Lets not forget its simply human. Now the question is ....what truly is "sin". I think that depends on intent and condition. Same with "crime". PS, reduce addition to martial consumer world, and increase spiritual disciplines/connections while improving relationships and less people will be void in search of solace. Also clean up music lyrics and movie content alike. What we feed our senses we become, if not of strong spirit a people will perish..... the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah learned the hard way. Grace fills the void.
This situation with pornhub where they ask whether you are 18 or not doesn’t seem to be any type of safeguard against minors gaining entry. I have this friend, I’ll call him Bob, and “Bob” told me all about how easy it would be for a child to see this stuff, as I’ve never seen this front page.
No one ever feels good after watching porn. Compare that to how you feel after a good workout or a trek in the mountains or dare i say even after having sex with someone who you genuinely feel love and attraction for. Ugh lol shitty solution bro not everyone wants to solve their problems by becoming a zealous evangelist
I'm Kelvin Mwendwa from Kenya African, I really Love what Jordan Peterson is doing, he has been so influecial in personal life especially in changing perspective of the reality and meaning of Existence, the Idea of porn I think it will shed light to minds of many and transform them as well , it's a demon in mind of majority which need to be understood and confronted with the right means
Porn is like a drug it can be addictive The porn today is absolutely horrific compared to 20 years ago.
Is that so? Was it the case 20 years ago that a lot of top pornographers were loving couples just displaying what they enjoyed to do anyway?
No thanks to the lady in this video, who got a huge amount of non-commercial material deleted from PH, leaving only the commercial stuff. She is fighting to make things worse because she is anti ALL porn -- I won't believe anything else.
I’ve been following Laila for years! She is absolutely incredible
I would like to add one thing about the thing he said at the end. Women like who get involved in it destroy their reputation. Anyone with strong moral compass would reject them and that's tough thing to escape from.
This is really important topic in India...... People are not really aware about this Problem 😢😢
I am from India
Porno is Demonic.
Lol 😂
Nah, it's hot!
I read that book (a billion wicked thoughts).
I lent it to a friend at some point because he expressed interest in it.
All his roomates got their hands on it. They were reading that thing out loud in the living room day after day and almost everyone was interested (and english is not our first language)
It was really a surprise to me. But it makes a lot of sense.
It's also a damn good book, especially to see what's going on "on the other side" (Legolas and Frodo, really?).
South Korea blocks adult websites. Other countries need to adopt the same strategy.
Men must be contained and controlled at every nexus of societal difficulty in the efforts to compensate for societies failures.
Government daddy isn't the solution
They can't that hiw they are making money. Sex sells
I certainly hope you don't mean adopting the idea of the Nth room.
Gracias por el video. Que Dios le dé fuerza a las personas que tienen esta adicción.
Porn is disgusting and one of the worst things to happen to humanity
It's not disgusting and just depend on who is consuming it . And for what reason
Why?
Anything in excess can be a problem period, ANYTHING.
No it isn’t. Stop being silly
Laila is a very good listener . Jordan didnt let her talk in this short 😂😂😂
No hetero guy go to a porn site and search for gay porn. And if by any chance a hetero man see image from such thing - the reaction is fast and visceral and its disgust. No glory no fantasies lol.
On your second point, idk about the “lgbt movement” being the influence behind the deviations we see in the videos. We are noticing that Hetero guys go to the gay videos and trans stuff for shock value, once the regular stuff doesn’t do it
@@Cadenza93 I think he means it’s the other way around. The hetero guys go to the shock value stuff and question their hetero-ness, spiraling the trends of society at large
It raises* questions but yes
The content every young man in America needs to hear. I am guilty of exactly this issue. Very insightful conversation and thank you for this content.
Legend
Pornography takes a toll on you. Matter of time till you know it
Outside of AI (which is a very recent development) *there is no mainstream p*rn without women willingly putting THEMSELVES on display in a perverse manner in the "objectionable" content. And yet in all these discussions - women are the least blamed or held accountable for the explosion of p*rnography.*
We should all be shouting about this from the rooftops until talking about, accepting and healing from this becomes as normalized as drugs/alcohol recovery.
I was trying to go cold turkey on everything… porn ,Alcohol and cigarettes … the void makes me feel insane… like I have to fill that void with being myself… especially since I’m currently unemployed…
How do you do it ?

Can you please consider doing a video on how to overcome sexual fetishes? Especially ones birthed from trauma? Thank you for your insight.
What's your kink?
Sounds like you need therapy my dude. Give it a try.
Any intercessionists out there willing to pray for this person with me?
You have to "uncondition" yourself. Best thing you can do is limit the use of porn altogether, and if you do use it, choose less problematic stimuli. Counselling/therapy can be a huge help, especially if trauma is involved.
I used to struggle with transsexual porn addiction. For YEARS.
I can say that Jesus Christ is the only true chain breaker who can set us free from dark distortions and addictions that grow like cancer. Truly pornography is a cancer on the soul.
I got to the point where I knew I could not fix myself. I am confident that Only God can heal these deep places.

It cost me my relationship ship with my husband. We are still together but it has ruined our relationship even though he has managed to stop it for a few years.
Way to much trouble to actually have a heart I say.

In my opinion they should do couple counseling and therapy. It sounds they have issues with their s*x life as a couple.
Can I ask were you actively giving him loving? The only reason why I watch porn is because I am not getting any, if she just DID something anything then I don't want to watch it. Days or weeks or months pass of no action then porn seems like it asks me to watch it?
If you allow me, seek God and tell your husband to go together to Mass. God heals everything. God bless you both.
My cousin was the one that exposed the playboy, Hustler and penthouse magazines throughout his home at an young age whenever I visited him..
Which started the whole process, which made pornography a negative connotation to young people like myself..

It’s a choice that leads to isolation.
I'm interested in learning more about you
Porn is so addictive because it gives you the misery and takes it away itself too however temporarily. It's a dead end.
Millennials are the last generation that didn't grow up with this stuff at arm's reach. Even in the mid-late '90s, people had to sign in to a computer to be able to access p*rn sites, and because bandwidth was limited, loading high-resolution images/videos was much more difficult than it is now. Kids today are growing up with smartphones and tablets from infancy with immediate access to an endless library of nudity at a moment's notice.
Dude smacked an ad over most of her talking 😒

It certainly needs to be more regulated to protect children. We need more mandated age checks, and it's complete removal from the big social media platforms. X, Reddit etc.
or maybe parents should do their jobs and use parental controls.

You have to let the guests speak. In this whole clip the guest says like one sentence.
its just a clip which was chosen because of the content laid out.... in the whole interview she is talking as well
The why porn is addictive discussion has been beaten to death at this point. We know.
You're not wrong
You'd be amazed how many people don't.
It seems Jordan misses lecturing so much, he brings a guest in and instead of interviewing them he gives them a lecture.
We all know this is the exact reason why anyone under the age of 18 should not be allowed on the Internet. No, you can't block it. we all knew how to reformat an OS or find some over way around it when we were kids. We all know it. I'm surprised more people don't talk about this. It's actually really bad.
No, no way, there's also many of us who genuinely get an education online(schools suck) and it's not like you can watch the news anymore, so you need this. The internet has many cesspits, but I've seen people who found father figures online, the motivation to overcome addiction.
18? A few generations ago an 18 yr old male or female was an adult. A few hundred years before that, teenagers effectively ran the world. The 15 to 25 year olds, did almost all the hunting, gathering & breeding. Now we treat 26 year olds like children.
Erm...porn was around a loooong time before the internet
5:30 he finally let's her respond..
was thinking the same 😂
Interesting interview.. was reading Young Stalin (Simon Sebag Montefiore) and it struck me that Stalin's depraved sexual and political trajectory were probably linked from a psychological point of view; like the sexually driven serial killers you mention - of course, Stalin was responsible for the murder of more than most (according to Chatbot he was responsible for the murder of somewhere between 30 and 60 million people) but studying his history he seemed to be on a selfish accelerating dopamine trail like the average serial killer; only, he was given free rein to indulge in his killing by political machinery (secret services) which he had inherited from the tzars and refined (and these keep Putin in power today). Perhaps many politicians are caught in the same dopamine chase as porn addicts..
I came to hear Laila talk, I am 5 minutes in and Jordon Peterson is still yapping. Like seriously bro, if you have a guest on, let the guest speak otherwise just do a monologue by yourself.
Watching Pornography is sin. Period. Lust and adultery in the heart. Nothing is impossible for God 🙌🏽.
First saw her in the ShaunNewmanPodcast. A great conversation!
Shoutout to Derek for the Marek Health plug!
Hi Jordan, do you have any links to research articles regarding the effects of pornography and behaviour? Would be great to reading. Thanks!
Who owns those sites?! Who promotes it to our youths? 🧐
Yes WHO.
So how does one stop it from being an addiction or controlling their life?
Knowing that watching pornography is a choice. Asking “what is important to me?” Only feed the thing you want to grow.
@donnafoster5215 I've tried that. Sometimes I find myself on the website watching it and not realizing that I got on it. It's literally uncontrollable sometimes almost like a habit
keep busy. if you have too much time on your hand and you find nothing interesting, then you will go back to it. "idle hands are the devil's playthings."
If you can't even type the word Porn without censoring it, then we're not ready as a culture to discuss it yet. You can't start from a place of censorship on this issue, because it flies directly into headwinds that leave this conversation no where. Every single time.
Iv been addicted to porn since i was 16 or 17. Im 33. Its been a struggle. Im soon going to do a christian course on quitting porn.
Plus all the childhood trauma. But theres subconsious we do things. So the course helps you find out why you do it.

Stop complicating and overanalyzing it, that often leads to failure. Just decide and be done with it. That's what I did 13 years ago.
What about VR? Remove people altogether using cgi. How does the argument stand then? Pixel violation?
You’re still violating yourself. It’s not entirely about the violation of the people in the videos/photos
@Unkindled13 good point
I ask because VR is surpassing reality and it's only going to get worse (or better dep). A reason it's an issue is it's better than reality, infinite options that inevitably will be explored by creators, concerned 😟

@DiosProvee simping wasn't an understood concept 4 to 6 years ago. If you tried to talk against generic simping behavior, it would sound like you were just arguing against being nice. You would have had to spend a large amount of time putting up clarifications of what you meant.
How is it hypocrisy to not want your partner to show her body to strangers? Your two points don't connect.
Not at all comparable examples. But yes, it's obviously hard to realise you can never have true intimacy with a man
Clearly, porn is an extension of sexual drive, unhealthful, but a natural drive. So, the question is HOW to change behavior?
This is the way I think about it too. Part of it is natural. The other part is toxic. How do we counter the toxic part without suppressing the natural part. Because if we suppress sex, like the church did for a long time, then we have other issues in society.

@@robertmiller2513 Peterson made many excellent points too, but he needs to let his guests speak their mind too.
Grace is nothing but an incredibly vague word.
Dr. Peterson, you need to learn how to turn it off and let your guests talk. I appreciate that it must be hard. Love you, though.
No one ever feels good after watching porn. Compare that to how you feel after a good workout or a trek in the mountains or dare i say even after having sex with someone who you genuinely feel love and attraction for. There is no guilt, shame, emptiness, or embarrassment to be found inside your head after those activities. How sad to succomb to having to watch others having sex rather than yourself.
