    I liked your review but I think a little history about who the watch maker is (Paul Scurfa) and about his brand would have been helpful. And anytime you compare a $600 watch to an Omega is a good day. I have this in white and it’s been a really nice wearing watch. It dresses up nicely but can swim and play with the best of em.

      Fair point. Personally I’m not too much into the history since I feel the watch should speak for itself regardless of ties to history or who is behind the brand. Glad you are enjoying yours! It is definitely a fun watch. Just not for me in the end.

      @@theknightswatch I agree that a full history isn’t needed, but one of the main notes most folks like to make about Scurfa is how the owner, Paul, is an actual saturation diver and wears his watches while working. So they’re field tested before being sold to the public, which is a neat touch.
      One item that should be pointed out is that Scurfa uses metal movement holders for all of their watches, which is a welcomed upgrade to add to the heft and robustness.
      I am definitely with you on the handset, when I first got it I didn’t look too close and assumed they were the same size.
      Both my white dial Scurfa TS and the blue DiverOne stay illuminated all night, so I don’t mind the slight off color here because functionally it works. Function over form I guess 🤣

    Paul is a great bloke, I've owned several of his watches the quartz Diver One is absolutely superb and probably imho the best value for money diving tool watch on the market.

    Thanks for this review. It's the only one I could find of this watch. I decided to order it. It's nice looking and for $500 it comes with Miyota 9015 which justifies its price, along with good finishing. A high beat, better movement than ETA or Sellita at a better value.

    I don't have the same issue with lume as I think it's worth having a bit of contrast between hands and dial. I've found over time the watches I like the most and find myself wearing are legible and readable, and the subtle difference does help in that.
    It also makes an otherwise monochrome watch a bit more interesting. On that note, I think a matte bezel would have been more at home than a glossy one. In my mind this is a 2000s style diver and it was still stainless steel back then so rarely shiny.
    I think this particular lume application reminds of the Seamaster because it's a very thick and even application, and the lume here was awesome. I agree on the hands sizing 100%.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True a matte bezel would have been a little cleaner. And I never thought about the contrast of the lume like that. It’s good that it doesn’t bother you! I don’t think I’ll ever get over it though haha.

    You’ve singlehandedly exposed the lume fraud in the watch world 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 …but I will say that lumed bezel was a nice surprise. I enjoyed the review and I really liked that cameo appearance by the Doxa. That’s a beauty ! Thanks for the content as always!

    • @theknightswatch

      Ya a lumed bezel is always a nice touch. And who knows maybe people will stop using c3 someday! Glad you enjoyed Michael and as always, thanks for watching

    I have the yellow dial TS and it's my current favorite diver. I agree that even a subtle border around the date window would be an enhancement. Wider hands might look a little better as well, but I'm not complaining. I disagree in that I think this timepiece is an excellent value at its price point. I don't have the Orient Kamasu, but on paper it looks like an incredible value. That said, I think the Scurfa Treasure Seeker is a very well made timepiece, fit and finish (on mine anyway) is excellent.

    I bought one used, and the indices on the bezel is more of a cream colour, and doesn't match the white dial at all. In this video the indices look white. Did I get a bad version?

    I have bought the Treasure Seeker in orange after 4 months of waiting. From spain, it was very expensive. The watch is OK, but the strap is bad. It is too short - only up to 19 cm wrist, no extra links inside. The closing is bad (very soft) and the steel-links/ strap are very sharp ( sharp edges ) The extra strap in black is cheap plastic - also the package, not sustainable. So, take a few extra Dollars and buy a Certina, Hamilton or Mido. Hasta luego

    First time seeing this watch, great review. It also bothers me that the lume never matches the white dial. Honey comb depth could have been done better. I noticed some of the other colors use silver hands and they don't pop like the white or orange dial does with the black outline.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Appreciate you watching. A few small tweaks and it could be a very good watch. I do really like the black hands on this model too, makes them pop and just looks good in my opinion.

    #BuyerBeware Regrettably, I purchased the Scurfa Men's Top Side Crew Stainless Steel Turquoise Dial. The Scurfa Top Side Crew Watch is junk. I held it in my hand for less than 15 seconds before I emailed Scurfa asking for their return address. I have bands that weigh more than the Scrufa Top Side Crew watch. It looks and feels like a toy watch. I recommend a Swatch watch over the Scrufa Top Side Crew watch. I just want to save you the headache of my mistake. Now I have to pay $40 to return a crappy $285 watch back to England. #Scurfa

    I found that the crown is not that great to get screwed back in, very short and stubby. Case finishing is excellent ,on a par with Chris Ward watches that cost more and also have a ton of qc issues . My blue dial is running +7 to 8 a day also . Quality watch for the money.

      If you’re looking specifically for a diver then San Martin sn0121, Islander north port, orient kamasu, signum cuda if you want something a little different, 1975 from Dan Henry could be a cool one too.
