Congratulations to all of you! Impressive work! You didn’t mention how many days it took you to make this short film? Did you use extra lights in other parts of the short film apart from the 2 tube lights in the beginning shot when he is down on the ground?
I’m SHOCKED that NO ONE (filmmakers and audience) noticed the guy running blindfolded with his hands tied in front of his body. I am very malleable when it comes to youtube filmmaking, not touching the story, the acting, the voiceover… forgivable. But how can something like this pass unnoticed or at least be ok with it?
Well i do not know. But I seem to be the only one who did not like that short. Story is meh, execution is sub par... actuallyy not what I am used from Brandon Li. He is way better in Docustyle and he really ñacks directing skills of shortstorys in geberal. But he tries and learns. What i don't like is nobody seems to see or understand it.
I’m not even criticizing the production. It’s the best way to practice and become better. My issue is with shutting off your brain out of convenience. He basically showed the audience a man who could have easily unfold that cloth by only raising his hands… Instead we are presented with a situation in which the guy HAS to go outside blindfolded without asking for help for whatever reason only to get hit by a car out of convenience.

Even though the fight scebes look fake and generic to me and the overusage of Gimbal im almost ecery shot if not any shot gets tiresome and boring as hell. That is my take. Apart from suspension of disbelief like you mentioned I would even add: why tell the joke halfway through,for the end to be bland and boring? I don't get it.

I thought the execution was kinda mediocre at best and that here the director didn't take any risks. It looked way too generic and typical to me. As an example I much more prefer the thailand shitty camera challenge short. This is one of your best works. Back to the roots and you were really inventive there. You could afford to take risks. Here... it just feels rehashed.
Love the cinematography, love the fighting scenes, the grading. I like the base story. I'm not a fan of pacing, it's super fast all the time, maybe a bit more laid back parts would've made it better. The acting is OK, although the woman is better than the man. I hate the running blindfolded scene - it's nonsense. The voice is pretty awful, especially for the guy, it's hard to understand like 80% of the thing he says. And the ending with the Bruno Mars is just cringey. So visually it's pleasing, but audio and story could be better in my opinion

Thanks, it was a 4 day shoot. We used a few Zhiyun X60 lights and some smaller tubes here and there, just whatever was available.
