Chris you're a friggin godsend! I'm pleased to report this is plug and play with the Harmon Kardon systems as well! Full factory function of subs and amps!
Matt. Have same d2 and this unit. Won’t slide into where I took out the old radio. It catches near the front after sliding in a few inches. Any idea on how you made it fit entirely. Thnx
@@mattcallahan8863 Matt, one other question. Sorry to bug. What Mount/plate for the front of it did you buy for it if any? Can you link it? I’ve searched and found none. Mine slides out when it hits a bump etc.
-I found that out the hard way- months of research/forums etc... Bought tons of crap.... Bought a "CaCa" (brand?) radio from Amazon... Only to find (pink and gray ISO's) plugged dircetly into my 1999 Discovery 1.....and worked
I got this block off plate. www.ebay.com/itm/Metra-89-9400-99-04-Land-Rover-Discovery-Radio-Install-Dash-Plate-w-Wire-Harness/142991756561?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
So that extra blue/green/yellow harness that you're not connecting - what does it do? It was previously inserted into the top port of the original head unit. Does that contain the steering wheel controls, or is it only extraneous stuff? I only ask because it must have done something, and I just want to know what I'm giving up. Haha, I'm holding the same Boss head unit in my hands!
I think it must have been SWC's. Maybe the remote cd changer too. I have never had a car with them (and our headunit was broken when we bought the disco) so they weren't important to us.
I also noticed a low hiss from the speakers when nothing was playing(wife didn't notice, but it annoyed me) so I ordered this harness to use the pre-amp outputs on the back of the Boss unit. That cleaned up the audio. www.ebay.com/itm/Metra-89-9400-99-04-Land-Rover-Discovery-Radio-Install-Dash-Plate-w-Wire-Harness/142991756561?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
I have a Land Rover 2002 Discovery 2. Bought the radio and had it working in 20 minutes. You are F****** awesome. Thanks a million.

This saved me so much time, y’all keep it up with the disco videos! 😭
Old radio out and this BOSS installed in less than 10 mins. Radio sounds good as well, only loss was SWC. Well done Chris, appreciate the help!

@@garrettlarrow4866 Odd, not sure what it's catching on as my Boss unit slid right in. Are the wiring harnesses free and clear?
@@mattcallahan8863 hey ! Got it. Didn’t realize to slide the top part behind and take out old mount ha. Thanks for reply tho. So simple.

Nice find man ✅
Can you do a update video on the audio of this radio in the D2?
My D2's original radio has a place for the blue, green, and yellow connectors. Do your the steering wheel controls work?
No, but I didn't bother trying either.
What did you do about the space difference created from using a single din radio? Did you have to buy any mounts?

The D2 is a single DIN.
What's the name of the Boss radio you installed?
It's BOSS Audio Systems 616UAB

@@biggreen96 None of it matters to me anyway. Popped it in just like you said, 10 minutes, done. Bluetooth, aux in, sounds better than ever. Thanks!
Can I get a model number of unit you forgot to mention

Hello
Does it works if my D2 has a subwoofer?
Thanks.
That I do not know, ours was removed when we got the car.
@@biggreen96 thank you
I thought the 2 speakers in the far rear door were like subwoofers... Am I wrong?
