Vinegar will allow wood to bend easier than plane water, and if during your forming inverted your forming blank set up so your strap is laid out around the blank and all you need to do is tighten the strap. Just my two cents worth of thoughts on the matter. And steam works well also
thanks. Hadn't heard of the vinegar. adding the strap really helped....i'll try the inversion next time I bend. I've been thinking of making a bath of coat racks or bent hooks for a towel rack..
@ that’s what a community should do isn’t it, share ideas and tips to make things easier! For a little test, take a piece of junk wood about 8 inches long and soak it in vinegar for 2-3 days and I almost bet you can tie it in a knot!
You and me both. It was hard. When i change my dust collector bag, I use spring clamps to help. I didn't step back and find an easier solution. It was still a great learning experience.. Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know anything you'd like to see....
