    Please post more cumbia!! there are so many videos online teaching salsa, bachata, merengue, but no one actually dances those where I live. What people actually are dancing at parties and clubs and family events is cumbia!!

    I love your videos but it seriously screws me up up when you don’t count all 8 beats, even if you are pausing and not doing anything. But I just kept repeating the steps and counting over you out loud until I figured it out. And I did figure it out because you explained it so well! Thanks. 😊

    Wait!!! When you're both facing us and doing the turn you're both turning counter clockwise. Yet when you move to dance as a couple, the follow turns clockwise (as in most partner dances). 🤔

    am i rhythmically challenged or is the timing of which step is when off by half a step? at least at the stuff in the 7 min range. I feel like maybe i'm wrong and that's what I'm missing about cumbia

    By the way, the way you break it down is so helpful like you have no idea. From a person who knows nothing I can follow this easily. I just would need some help with the turning with the partner in part 1. That was not included x
    But other than that the best videos ever.
    And the bloopers make you guys relatable and thank you for keeping it real and down to earth.
    Like sub and I’ll buy some merch

    just to start Cumbia is a Colombian DANCE .... this is not Colombian dance...

    • @How2Dance
      @How2Dance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I never mentioned or is in titled this is Cumbia from Colombia so please don't assume.
      You are correct, Cumbia did originate from Columbia, the tradition of cumbia spans three centuries and several continents. with origins in an African dance that came to Colombia through the slave trade,
      Cumbia rhythm traveld over to Cuba and parts of Mexico and Latin America, the Cumbia rhythm along with they way it is danced has evolved throughout the years, so just because it may not be Cumbia from Colombia doesn't mean it's not Cumbia....Columbia, Cuba,Mexico, Chile,Peruvian and Argentina dance many variations of Cumbia....Cumbia Noteña, Cumbia Tropical, Tibiri "Guaracha" Cumbia Sonidera etc.
      Hopefully this helps you understand, but if this is not the style of Cumbia for you, skip my videos, I'm sure there will be something out there for you 😉

    Cumbia was born in Colombia only. You’re not fancying cumbia. It was created by the African slaves and evolved with the Latin sound of the spaniard. Cumbia was born. What you’re doing is not it. Please change the name! Not cumbia! It’s ugly when you dance it!

      Well, Im guessing I have to repeat my self to some ignorent and uneducated dance professionals who think they know everything.....but in reality don't know sh$@ with no videos of there own or no follower or subscribers. Let me educate you lady! I never mentioned in the titled this is Cumbia from Colombia, so please don't assume.

      I sure would like to see that....I didn't think so!
