    Good job Joe👍👍 Down to earth, straight forward troubleshooting and quality repair. The mechanical disassembly and reassembly is important as well and sometimes harder than the electronics. Thanks for the video and work.

    Very recently I stumbled upon your repairs videos ,although I am not into repairs but I like very much your videos.Your voice quality is just like FM radio and your English pronunciation is so good that for me as Indian able to understand the things .I just have some very little or basic knowledge but no practical experience but of great help for any minor issues connected with my electronic gadgets .I own Technics SU V85 amplifier since last 24years, I fo not know now what is the bias voltage or the dc voltage .

    Very nice.. some of these are still available and some not.. if you can fix one all the better ! Overall construction not as sweet as the older stuff but still nice enough to want to repair it for sure. Technics is worth fixing !

      Very true! I would rather fix that replace sometimes....this was one of the fixes, I was glad too.

    I have repaired the same model.. the tone board resistors got hot due to higher voltage which affects the board i guess

    • @VintageAudioFever
      @VintageAudioFever  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      yes, those capacitors are victims from that heat coming from these ceramic resistors close by.

  • @flyingsquad124
    @flyingsquad124 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Should you not mod the caps to be further away from those resistors? Can you not up the wattage on those resistors to take more heat?

      Hi....when i do a repair, I try not to modify too much. The issue with this unit are the 1.5kohms run hot and dried up the capacitor prematurly...I did up the voltage needed to 50v instead of 25v but really it's not going to fixes the problem as far as those resistors still are running hot. But the unit should be ok for the next 10+ yrs or more. Its how it was designed
