Another great video 👌🏽
Ha! Was literally swapping some of the Baby Ks I got from you for the Heavy Xinhai so I could put the Baby K in an Ergo once it gets here. I had them in a GEM80 that is pretty muted, while the Baby Ks were good the Xinhai are even louder! With all the foam and GMK caps it is actually a pretty loud deep clack / thock, sounds wonderful and indeed the factory lube is perfect on them!
My personal favorite HMX switch this year is the Macchiato's I've tried a lot new HMX and BSUN releases this year and nothing compares to them in smoothness out of the box and an incredibly satisfying deeper clack. Sounds incredible on a Brass or Copper plate.
On the BSUN side there is no comparison. Zuoce x BSUN Lavenders (which I got from your website) is by far the best. Hope you get more in stock soon, I want to order a set for my QK75n
Runner up if you can't get your hands on a Zuoce Lavender is the BSUN FOX. Very similar to the Lavenders but slightly higher pitched. I love both of them.
On the tactile side, it's definitely the BSUN HUTT. Everything a Glorious Panda is but lighter.
Top 5 Clicky Switches next?
Top 5 Thocky switches next?
which one would you prefer for daily typing? HMX Xinhai vs HMX Xinhai (Heavy) ?
Would love to see top creamy switches
I just opened this video to tell you this:
My preference for switches are: deep sound (thocky if you will), on the heavier side and tactile, and recently, I built my second custom keyboard.
My first one had the U4's as for the switches, yes I wrote it right, I mean the silent version of them, because I built a keyboard to use when I go to the office.
So I was looking for the second board components... and then your videos came into my feed, and I couldn't notice how much you like XINHAI switches.
This is what I thought:"These switches are so far away from my preferences, and this random dude on the internet glazes them so much, I must try them!" So I did, I bought them, the ones with the lighter spring, and for a very little price, like these baddies goes for the same price of akko ones in my country.
And the result is... THESE SWITCHES ARE THE BEST THING EVER
I only tried a few red switches from friends, like the gateron, otemu and kailh ones, but these aro SO DIFFERENT. It's like they built them forgetting the meaning of friction, it's like pushing a finger into a can of slime, and yet they feel sturdy and wiggle-less, I LOVE THEM.
The sound they make in my configuration isn't too far from the one in your videos, although my preferences are completly opposite, I really like this clacky/poppy sound they make, they feel so premium and different from anything I've tried, and they go for such a little price too...
Last thing I wanna add is that before the purchase I was unsure between the XINHAI and morandi switches, maybe I will try them later this year.
Idk what else to add, other than thank you man.
Thanks for sharing. I have the Morandis and I love them. They have a shorter travel which feels nice and premium, and they sound pretty good, but not as thocky as other switches. Some people don't like the stem wobble, which surprised me when I first installed the switches, but they don't feel loose to me while typing. My only complaint is that the switches sometimes make an annoying high pitch door creaking sound when typing on my middle and ring fingers, due to the loose stem. This tends to happen if you type the key at a roughly 45° angle, instead of straight down. If they didn't make that awful sound, these switches would be perfect to me.
@@Xe054 nice feedback, maybe I will just buy a bunch of different switches before buying a full stock of morandi... now that I have an hotswappable the world is open to customization
No one cares
Xinhai is goated
luciolas clack so hard it seems like they’re made of metal. I love them

Thank you for the video.
Always excellent quality - informative, aesthetic, great sound for comparison…
Is there such thing as a clacky switch that isn't that loud?
Can you make a video suggests non-silent switches but quiet please? 😅
Clacky sounds piercing after a while.
I understand this is the new thing but 😢
That's why it's important to go for what you like, and not what's popular. :)
@@FlashBombGodyup. I agree.
It depends how clacky it is. I really soft clacks wherein the board dampens the sound a bit which I find pleasant.
@@FlashBombGod Yup, really agree with this. In the end you have to live with your boards and you should enjoy them. Doesn't really matter what is popular. My friends and family prefer thock, I love clack... well, I think I just mostly want that loud, poppy spacebar.
I get the feeling that higher pitched switches come across as more annoying through the video than in real life due to video compression, mic, and headphone quality. Can anyone with clacky switches share their experience? Do they get annoying over time?
High-pitched switches are not that annoying if you can get used to them and besides, there are a lot of way to reduce the overall high-pitched sound like: using softer plate, PBT keycaps instead of ABS, using gasket-mount, foam, using plastic instead of alu case for your keyboard, etc.
Also, not all high-pitched switches sound identical, some may sound deeper than other due to their material. Gateron for example, they have the Pure Berry as one of the high-pitched switches but still sounded deeper than HMX switches.
Feel like that keyboard is set up to be a cream/thock linear type. Doesn't lend itself to click or clack very well. Throw some box navy in there and see what it does to the sound... iunno, I really like click.

Can TH-camr finds real information about keyboard? :V
“A bright sound signature”. Oh no. The audiophiles have entered the mechanical keyboard space. Next minute they’re going to start describing chocolatey highs, a lot of meat in the mids, and solid earthy tones in the lower thunk audio signature.
this has been going on for the last 5 years for your information
Hate to tell you, it's been the entire basis for the existence for the space the whole time... *insert 'always has been' astronaut meme here*
Addendum: Click is better than all sound profiles. If it doesn't click, you better go membrane 10 dollar or dead god damn silent. Creamy and thock are trash. Looking at you hippyotech.
@@redcroft308 this is merely your personal preference and by no means a general rule. as much as I dislike hipyo, "click is better" has no relevance for anyone but you
@foggytypes right.. I mean... what about that statement implied that it wasn't anything BUT my personal opinion? That said, I do have actual taste. I feel like all those muted linear keyboards are like decaffeinated coffee... why bother?
i love your vids, but i really hate all these hmx sell outs when all their release are literally the same sound in nature and just a recolor. no shame
I’d have to disagree. Yes all HMX have some similarities, but I have the canglangs and clouds and their sound is quite different
@@SevericK_BooM Agreed. HMX EVA and HMX Xinhai for example sound and feel pretty different.
HMX switches do have a somewhat similar sound profile to one another, but calling them all recolors is simply just not true. I’ve typed on a decent amount of HMX switches and can definitely tell the difference between any two when I have them side by side. I think it’s more of an exposure type of thing. Similar to an “all long poles sound the same” statement from someone who has only tried a very small number, if any, long pole switches, or an “all wine tastes the same” statement from someone who has had only a few glasses of wine spread out over a long time.
@@SevericK_BooM pay attention to what i just said. they are the same in terms of SOUND NATURE, what you have left in diff is simply pitch frequency, which if you enlarge the chart they will be grouped almost within the same dot, there's no point in even comparing them
@@keebscape yea but all long pole sound the same will be a stretch lol you know that, I know that, everyone knows that. I'll say in some cases even some BSUN sound the same/alike, but damn is hmx even worse with the difference. Im not stopping people to pick their poison tho, I personally got some raptors extreme for gaming too, but hell do they sound dry n boring
