The Neo Ergo is one of their best boards yet. I am SO glad they decided to go with one very amazing mounting style. The price is right, the sound is great with and without foam, and they styling of this board is fantastic.
They are working on implementing some RGB control for different zones as well. I will make a longer form written piece due very soon with all my thoughts.

man neo is for real killing it even if you're more on the premium side of this hobby they're still worth picking up. def gonna get this one
Eh not entirely. I personally really like top mount medium to high angle boards. Budget china designs don't really scratch that itch for me
@@muto4330 this isn't a budget design, getting a tented alice layout is almost impossible at this price
@riceshakes I agree, this is an absolute steal for the quality Neo is delivering compared to Type-K
@riceshakes my comment is more of blanket statement on the state of budget boards. Not the neo alice thing. I think they're cool, but ultimately, I don't see chinese designers making something similar to kustom like designs
@@muto4330 why you putting such an emphasis on Chinese 😭😭
I type exactly like Alex. Hopefully I can force my right hand to work a little harder if I get this board
So these don't come with switches or keycaps? That's fine, it just wasn't totally clear to me before watching this.
sound tests- plateless, SWK ripple with GMK Dualshot R2
no foam - 19:26
case foam - 21:21
I’m so tired of seeing boards advertised as gray that are actually bluish in person, this looks like a truly gray finish, absolutely love it with dual shot! Gorgeous board, and so sweet that it can be built plateless! Makes me want to go back to my one Arisu board to see if I can get used to this layout to justify buying this beauty.
Yeah my Akko MOD007 that is supposed to be gray is bluish, a bit disappointing.
@@Nizzon.had a very similar experience with the Thera 75v2, photos (maybe renders?) looked like a dark gray, but it’s quite blue in person! First world problems I suppose, but definitely disappointing.
the gray colorway looks amazing. very rarely do we see gray finishes that doesn't have any to no blue tones.
I preordered a Cycle8 in Metal color and hope it will be a neutral gray or a little warm. Not bluish as you can see in many pictures where WB is off.
Definitely my next keyboard. Love the look and finish of this board. Could not find anything about this keyboard online, so thanks Alex for being the first to share!
Had the OW Lab Spring for 3yrs as daily driver, this seems like the perfect upgrade 😀
Fr same here
And it's half the price lol
@@lone0017 my current plan is to sell my spring and buy 2 of these bad boys
Since this hobby is so much about customization and constant swapping to find that perfect build...Neo focusing on ease of building and taking apart is so clutch, i really hope other companies take notice. This is crucial to a hobby like this
I was waiting for this and I still can't believe it's here.
Also, those spacebars sound so good.
Now I'm torn on which colorway to get. 🤔
It was such a fun stream, haha picking colors is no easy task.
I know for sure champagne and purple is the way for me and the red
personally going full black since tented alices remind me so much of stealth jets. black case, black kernel, black weight and black badge.
How did you get the colors on your logitech mouse in this video? Vinyl decals?
Just a heads up, there's a typo in the description: "Nero Ergo" should be "Neo Ergo"
You the best
@@alexotos no worries, typos are sneaky little buggers
Edit: Received mine today and am watching this while I build it up. Great video.
On the difficult bags, try opening them with one hand using your thumb & index finger in a "snapping" motion. The friction opens the seal easily every time and you avoid tearing the bags up. I actually like these bags.
The Neo series price points are incredible. They've single-handedly made the premium custom keyboard market more accessible.
BEEN WAITING AND WAITING FOR YOU TO DROP THIS VIDEO ONCE I SAW ON QK’s page they sent you one to review! IN LOVE WITH THIS BOARD. Have a Qk 65, 76, and 80. And a Neo 65. No ergo in the collection and this is HANDS DOWN NOW THE Ergo I’m looking to grab when it releases later this month 👀 Another blessing for a hectic Friday for me, thanks for keeping me sane man!
this board is such a refreshing lesson in how you shouldn't fall for fabricated FOMO
How?
@@GodOhMyGosh by skipping egregious cash grabs and waiting for good things to come, such as this board.
@@foggytypes oh ye
This board, at this price, is straight up telling you « you got scammed in the past » 😅
Love the design aesthetics. Also reminds me of varsity when I used a Microsoft Ergo keyboard. I'd prefer to have a function row but I think this looks so slick without the function row that it's probably better this way.
Also really like how Neo series keep advancing. I hope those magnetic connection become the standard.
Why is he so good at picking keycaps!!!!!??????
I am getting this keeb in green. Lately, I bought keychron V10 to try alice layout and, wow this keyboard will give me all the things the V10 is missing.
I bought 2. I'm scared theyll stop making this case so I stocked up lol.
Just placed an order for this keyboard. It just seems really cool. Using the same keycaps. I'm quite excited to try it out.
I watched so many of your videos, and I really really cannot place your voice, I have heard another youtuber with a similar voice , and I just can't seem to place it
I do miss the builed process of the board itself, these days it feels like you only put in stabs, switches and caps and you're done. I just wish there was a way to get these board unbuilt. Thanks for the review Alex, great video as always.
Ok I haven't picked up a new keyboard in like a year so I'm out of the loop ... how does one acquire this bc I really want a more ergonomic keyboard ;-;
Tbh, I think ima get this exact config. I’ve wanted a nice grey board to use Dualshot on for a while and this just looks amazing.
I'm honestly sold on the price
I need holy shit
i am in love with the colours for your MX Master. How were you able to change it like that?
what do you mean you dont type like this ? my arms are in an angle even with normal keyboard... sounds like skill issue to me
where di he get the split spacebar for gmk dualshot???
They will sell a ton of these, judging by the number of views of this video
actually one of the best sounding boards i have laid my ears upon
Looks really nice, except I HATE how the up arrow is left of the right shift. Gimme no arrows over that any day.
You can opt with no arrows!
The grey finish looks so nice. Definitely grabbing this color
can I ask if anyone know the name of the keycap? thanks in advance :D
17:22 I type like this at around 80wpm using only 2-3 fingers on each hand. I understand it would be faster and less errores to do home row, but i have to touch probably 1500 keyboards a year(i manage hardware for a community college for over 1000 devices) so i have to make a standard keyboard ergonomic
Edit My 'home row' is CDSA and MKL:
What is the name of the mouse you use?
I’ve owned a neo65 and while it’s a great looking board the bt and 2.4ghz on this is so sporadic that for people looking at this board they should only use it wired. This is coming from a person that owns a kei v2 and a gk65v2. None of them have solid wireless connectivity.
Really thinking of getting this in the ano purple with CYL Hi! Viz. I've never tried an ergo board but this one really looks and sounds fantastic!
To achieve a similar sound profile but with a plate, which plate should I go for? Alu? Thanks!
All this for under 200 dollars? I am definitely picking one up. I love my maja v1, it's a shame that Alice/arisu boards are not more popular.
Man, for the price I might grab one of these just to see if I can get used to the layout again. Had one of the MS ergo KB's way back when and ended up giving it to my Mom after I got an IBM model M. That looks good enough that even if I ended up not liking the layout I wouldn't mind showing it off somewhere. Neo kind of knocking it out of the box with their 'budget' offerings.
for the comment on not getting ergo boards, i have shoulder issues and am more sensitive to when my body is getting tired. believe me there is a difference in alice/split keyboards, you can work longer at the desk. same for a vertical mouse when i had wrist issues.
I was already going to get this board, now I cannot freaking wait.
This legits looks awesome. I have never used this kind of keyboard, but I am interested in trying it out, especially for the price. It honestly seems like it's a lot more expensive keyboard.
Oh god.... I love this....
So those baggies right. Don't rip them apart to open them. Just put thumb and index finger on both side of the seal and slide them the opposite direction. It will open easily and you don't have to destroy the top of the bag.
Sold and sold! Its gorgeous , the price is aggressive and its a super functional ergo I've seen in a while. If they offered a premium case like full PC that'd be a cool premium option but yeah.
Just ordered mien and will also build it plateless. Do you think it's silly to use foam?
Alex build without it sounds good
Not gonna lie I watched your vod of this a few days ago. I’m buying one.
When I first saw renders of this board on the QK discord, I wasn't too excited because of this type of Alice layout with a key to the right of the arrow cluster... but it's actually tented, has magnetic PCB connectors, and the ball & catch latches... gonna join the group buy once it actually launches
I don't know if you meant it Alex, but you linked build guide notion in the description instead of the notion with all the details and info for the board.
I was getting big fomo for not getting in on the type k but the price point was so high. Glad I waited now.
Damn it sounds sooooo crispy beautiful
The smile on his face said it all this will be my first Alice layout board thanks for all the reviews buddy keep up the good work
Man, I own an Original Alice, and I may pick this one up! Great review as usual bro!
you should do a comparison of all the neo boards with same switches and same plates :)
=o Board seems really interesting, but as a side question what is that grey deskmat thing you got that covers your entire desk?
How's the PCB alignment on plateless, though? It might be my eyes that deceive me but it looks like the PCBs are slightly shifted towards the center.
I don't notice anything like that on my end, it may be an illusion with the tilt? The alignment is actually don't very well with the gaskets doubling as alignment areas.
개인적으로 디핑스위치가 정말 좋은 스위치라고 생각함 가격을 빼면 완벽하다고 생각해
Those guys are way ahead. Seriously. Who would spend 500 bucks on a keyboard now?
Not only they make something affordable but it’s actually flawless, and much much better than a lot of more expensive keyboards.
I mean, some people have different wants and needs that have different price points. If you dig deep enough in any hobby you can find pricey items! Everyone likes different things and thats okay!
Do you believe a wrist rest is necessary for this layout?
How this compare to the kyubi alice sir ?
Is this the same grey as the qk75n? Looks so nice
Where did Alex get that orange cable from?
What’s the red cable that’s in most of the streams?
will the goat respond to my messsage?
AYO
thanks dude
i had my eye on getting gmk dualshot for a while but i was just looking for a nice grey board to come along. lo and behold neo comes out with an alice-style one. glad to see a video on this so i know what my future board will look like. for anybody experienced with typing on an alice-style keyboard, is there a bit of a learning curve and is it viable for gaming use?
I use an alice layout for work and standard at home - it wasn't particularly pleasant using alice for gaming, but its definitely hot impossible lol
This is what I want when I dive into the hobby
Sold, I'll take two! Thanks Alex 😊
what keycaps is he using for his main board/the board connected?
Looks like GMK classic retro zhuyin
what's the keyboard he used above?
Mode SixtyFive r2
This looks so interesting but I am really looking forward to the 60% from the Neo series
Neo 60% confirmed?
I really want to pick up this board however if its 60 USD to ship it to Canada thats a little much to ask and would be a deal breaker as thats over $80 CAD and if its DHL shipping they are going to hit you for a min $40 of handling fees.
*laughs in european* oh sweet summer child
Ashkeebs is a Canadian vendor that is planning to carry the board so shipping should be much more reasonable I think
when/where can i buy it????
Maan such a cool well-built kit.
will alice layout add Function key row soon :(
75% alice boards exist, although they are uncommon
what keycaps are those on the 65% keyboard?
GMK Classic Retro Zhuyin
such a nice board
Hmm, that right shift there is scaring me off
They layout is changable!
this vs the type K?
Can’t wait to get one.
It's my time.
Very nice too
Definitely picking this one up
The grey is hot af
Were these ripples stock?
Yes!
@@alexotos man didn’t know these sounded so clean!

🥚
This is better thought out and designed internally than TypeK for 1/5 of cost. Ouch.
The thing I dont like are those circular dot like LED holes. They should have just done it like spring. The holes dont match the angular shape of the design.
I completely disagree. Type K is better designed in every way IMO
@@pryex8565 and it sounds like wet fart and it is impossible to use without wrist rest. sure well designed. It is just hype and branding that didn't really live up to in the end.
The Type K has stupendously high thick amounts of machined parts and a lot of finish but yeah I'm so so glad I waited. I'm buying like 3 of these in different colors and will probably main these for the foreseable its just so cleanly/intelligently designed / I haven't been THIS excited to buy a board in over a year.
@@_iboji lol what does even "a lot of finish" mean?
@@foggytypes finish is added detail, things that aren’t obvious but that would add cost , the contrast interior, dyed polycarbonate, countersunk screws, EC support, things like forged carbon fiber options. The cost to value is still debatable but yes the quality of the finish is just a smidge higher.
would love a curved row board like the feker80 alice
Dang that looks great! Now...I have to figure out what color I want lol.
This is my next keyboard! Love it!
Really nice board but the bottom row just straight up triggers me, both with the arrows and with mods.
This legit is the only Neo keyboard I'm truly interested in. Although the weight could be a dealbreake... I really don't like that design at all. Wishing they just kept it plain, or went with the same type of aesthetics they went with for the Neo65.
Also glad they're not forcing people to use the Spring layout and that it's optional! I really really don't like the right shift position. It's absolutely cursed especially for someone who uses right shift very often. Kinda crazy that they initially reverted their decision to use this layout after people told them not to do it en-masse, only to go back to offering it as an option.
The Neo70 was also tempting, but after owning and dailying the Cycle7 I just can't see myself using any other budget-tier FRL. From all I heard, the Neo70 can't top that. Plus I own a Pluto which is simply incredible with its o-ring mount config and an alu plate. I wish it was more fun to type on so I could use it more often.
That right Shift situation annoys the hell out of me too. When I complained about it on Reddit, the QK rep said "it's to accommodate both 60 and 65% in one case, technically this is a 60% keyboard"...which is forcing people to choose between having the arrow keys or having right Shift in its normal place, while trying to "solve" something that was never an issue to begin with.
Ofcourse, I got downvoted for daring to question that design choice, lol...
this must be the QKrisu that has been in talks
I like the form factor a lot, just as clack enjoyer im actually not impressed at all. So does it sound good at the other end of the spectrum?
it comes with plate foam and PE foam so I'm sure you can shape it to a sound you would enjoy
plateless nofoam build with swk ripples... idk what you're hearing but there's plenty of clack in there.
My gripes with Neo are the shitty bags and the carrying case's use of the elastic bands over typical velcro. Combined with the ball catch system getting the keyboard out of the case it's so easy to accidentally pop the top case off. Overall minor problems though, the keyboards are great value and the build experience is likely the easiest in the hobby right now.
It gets so close to interesting for me, but the spring layout is cursed
I agree. I have the spring, and the arrow keys being on the left side of shift really throws off my typing because I use both shift keys. If people only shift from left, it’s fine.
Which is why I’ll get this and have it be a 60% layout without the arrow keys
You can build it without the arrows, I chose to use arrow keys!
Actually you like don’t have to build it like that mmkay?. Easy win and solution
This boy aint right
incredible board, instacop for me
