Just watched the end, a touching moment for HC. Very kind and genuine of you Edward. Alyssa i always looked forward to the streams you were on, your gameplay is inspiring and i love your round table thoughts!
Thank you Alyssa for all the streams, I wish you the best and I sure welcome you to my Great White North part of the world, we are a great bunch of people!
Fab play through. Thank you for the stream. One question- in the merger- did the NGC shares in the company need to be moved to the bank pool? I thought shares in the IPO move to the bank pool. Didn’t read those in the company needing to move?
(I hesitate to be pointing out rules errors on Alyssa's swan song, but I know she likes to get things just right so here goes anyway...) At 1:43:40 when merging NGC and FDR the shares owned by NGC should not have gone into the Bank Pool. Companies owning shares are treated like players. At the start of the merger NGC owned 5 of its own shares and FDR owned 1. The merged company therefore owned 6 'old' shares which should have been converted into 3 'new' NGC shares. (Which would generate income from revenue and also be sources of capital when players bought them from the non-chartered NGC.)
Postscript. I had to check the rules for this because when I was watching the merger it seemed unfair that the NGC suddenly lost its shares when it was relying on them for further funding. (Unlike the chartered companies which got all their capital at once, the non-chartered companies rely on players buying more shares from them as the game progresses.) I also noted in the rules that (contrary to what someone said at some point in the video), you CAN buy shares from a company by paying the current share price - in this regard there is no difference between the initial unbought shares in a non-chartered company and any shares redeemed from the Bank Pool by a company, both are simply company-owned shares.
Alyssa you will be missed. What a quality person and what a great taste in board games
I've really enjoyed our times together Alyssa, and will miss your regular presence in our group. ❤❤

IPO shares get moved to the bank pool. Company owned shares stay in the company.
