- Boyes Drive was closed today 09 July 2024 due to flooding from heavy rain. The pass opened again around 17:30. I recorded a few sections where flooding occurred.

So good to see Cape Town councils managing the flooding and deluge so well.
The sand bags certainly help direct the flow.
I reckon we're the only province where these services work for the people.
Definately. Gauteng the floods will take the road away and the road will stay like that for years.
@@TheNikinutso negative. And I wonder if the council is helping and supporting the people of Kayalitsha as well as the rich and famous? A report on that would be a good thing.
@@dingtonia The council *is* helping in Khayelitsha.
@@dingtoniawhy dont you go and help them as well😂
There have been reports, it's awfull for the residents there and more must be done. People need homes. Cape of storms is not a joke. @@dingtonia
It seems the authorities were so much better prepared and proactive this year, well done and thank you.
Lived in the so called coulored area in the flats all of my life never ever saw anything like this may the Allmighty have mercy on our poor souls 😮
Have lived in Cape Town most of 58 years and never seen rain like this.
Yes it's the heaviest and coldest winter this year
Strange, seeing that it happens every winter....
Geoengineered no doubt
@@wayne975 tonight and tomorrow heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds
It used to rain like this back in the day for many years. This was known as the 7 day rain in July. This is nothing new.
Due to the flooding I was stranded at a Bordello up in Boys Drive. But I got tea & biscuits afterwards 😂
Just imagine if this water could be harvested ❤
Should build more dams
It's not known as "The Cape of Stoms" for publicity reason.
The recent fires denuded the slopes of vegetation.
Down the mountain, the river flows, and it brings refreshing, wherever it goes. Lord, bring refreshing to your people and awake them to the reality of your might and power!
Get a life Veronika.

Yesterday 70mm today 30mm A 100 mm in less than 48hrs in Brackenfell Wow 3:44
Surely the houses on the mountainside below this got flooded or very wet, even though there are sandbags??
CT needed a bit of a wash.
Thats not the wash im thinking it needs
Kaap van Storms!
It's just starting
Looks like Cape Town is correctly itself. This is the 7 day winter rain of July. Used to happen every year.
Wow and another 100mm predicted for the rest of the week.
❤❤
This is what we oldies remember. Would rain for weeks on end. Burnt many nappies in oven as we had twin boys. 😅
This country is beautiful.
Someone knew to create artificial waterways.......
ALLAH knows exactly WHYthis is been done

Oh there wasn't disposable nappies yet that time around
Yep, looks like Cape Town is correcting itself. This was the normal weather back in the day.
@@Kuda-jr2htmy mom did the same back in the day.
