Its funny how almost everyone debates over Tarja and Floor(regarding Nightwish) while pretending Anette era never happened. Let's face it people, the best two albums of Nightwish happened during the Anette era and she did a tremendous job. I love both Tarja and Floor, it's just I think Anette is a lot under appreciated. So good to hear her sing again and this is a wonderful song!

@-- That was the main problem. The albums were fine but Nightwish is just a great live band and with her on some concerts it was even as if the whole band couldn't play correctly anymore.
Anette looks like she’s having a blast in every Dark Element video. So happy for her to have found a showcase for her talent.

This song Ghost And The Reaper and My Sweet Mystery were written about me and my protector Chip -- he's one of the top ClA agents/programmers and he's been directly and indirectly involved in the creation/production of most lyrics and movies and veedeos etc over the past 8 to 10 years and he included subtle references to me in many songs, while some songs were written about me...

I might agree with you. I love a lot of rock music. But she has probably one of the unique and interesting voices of this genre than anyone. You can try to compare, but you can’t.

Annette is one of the most underrated voices out there today. This is a good sign if she has found her way back. This is totally worth the investment.
She's got a very unique and fun style of singing, but that awesome drummer is what rock music is all about.

cant believe i have not found this sooner, i am genuinely moved to tears to finally hear Anette sing again! thought i would never get to hear her after how her time with Nightwish was cut way to short... i am so happy for her to finally find her place in The Dark Element and return to singing after so many years!

This is like Nightwish's little brother, dark passion play was one of Nightwish's strongest albums despite the flack some gave Annette. She's a good singer and I'm glad I came across this album/band.

Just discovered The Dark Element tonight, this is the 3rd song I've listened to so far. Annette looks much happier than she did with Nightwish and the sound suits her better in my humble opinion. Very happy that she's found a band that seems to make her happy, great song!
I didn't expect to see another music video after My Sweet Mystery. I'm glad that Frontiers is investing in Jani so much. I absolutely loved this song, it has that 'My Selene' emotional touch during "cold is the night" + some 'Malja'-like synths and hard rock riffing. 5/5

I love it! Jani Liimatainen is my idol since my childhood. And Anette... I don't have words to describe how special she is to me! All of it bring to me good memories from my youth in the school listening nightwish, sonata arctica, etc ;)

Yeah but they have only recently released album 2 for The Dark Element and it is even better than the 1st. My fear is that she may make a wrong move as maybe Ailyn has done because although I love her and support her, HER CHARIOT AWAITS is just too hard & dark and does not suit her at all and I think maybe Anette is influenced by that style and it may not go well.
@@kevingthompson14 Anette has been in plenty of heavy metal songs, dark ones. And her voice suits those just fine. Anette excels in anything written for her. Have you ever heard her vocals in Sweden United - Open Your Eyes?
@@MillenniumIdolPJH I was so so on that project because with the group of names involved I expected more. But having been a promotor of Olzon since 2008 when Nightwish recruited me for that, I can always find some good in most things she does.

It's very weird that there isn't a keyboard guy there, even though we listen to it the entire music. They didn't want the band to look and sound like NW, but NW is all over their songs...

Nightwish didnt put the effort to try to efficiently use Anette's voice and they are doing it again with Jansen. It's like you used to have a violinist in your group, you changed her for a harpist, and you continue to compose songs that have lines for violin. It is 100% sure you gonna fail..... So happy to see that someone else did take the time to give her a fair chance. Nicely done!

Just the other day we had an argument with my friend about Nightwish (well, argument might be a bit strong for it, more like a small but heated debate), and I actually told him that Anette's voice is really good, it just didn't suit Toumas' compositions, but she would work wonders in a more experimental pop-ish metal context like what Amaranthe does... and lo and behold, out of nowhere she does just that and proves me right. :P
I agree she's got an incredible voice but I disagree that it doesnt fit with Toumas compositions. I think it was a perfect fit, unfortunately too many people were caught up on the Tarja thing to give it the right chance.
I agree! She has a lovely voice. The Nightwish songs from the Tarja era are suited to a singer like Tarja, and I think Floor is amazing with her vocal power and range. Not every vocalist is a good fit for every song; that's life. But hearing Anette on her solo album and on the Dark Element, it's reinforced that she can really shine, no pun intended. :)

Have you seen nightwish lately? They are more like a weird druid minstrel folk band than a heavy metal band. The last album was not great. Poor floor
So true. They were supposed to have released a new album with Floor as their singer, which pretty much gave them a free pass to do just about anything and it'd work. Don't get me wrong here-I freakin love Annette, and Tarja, and support and own solo works and there careers, etc. But Floor can sing the old songs, the annette songs, and they could do better than ever with her because you can make an album with maximum vocal range. Instead if you've heard 2-3 songs from "endless forms most beautiful" you have heard the whole album, it utilizes nothing but her central basic voice, which is good but is just like one of maybe 3-4. As if they are just not even trying anymore, meanwhile she's singing "Ghost Love Score" live and doing it so well like wtf @@maxrav1831

Well I have to say Annete has come a long way since Nightwish, her voice has improved by 100% and she lost all her weight and looks great, you sound and look great annete. SHE ROCKS NOW.
It almost blends modern metal, with 80s rock and anime vocals...
