Thank you very much for sharing this knowledge either both site. I cooked my cassava and it was half done and became confused at that point but with this your method am able to find my way out. I became an Igbo by marriage and abacha happened to be one of the best food I love. Thank you sis.
I love Ghanaian food too. Wow I’m happy that you have tried it before. For the cassava, you don’t have to overcook it. When overcooked, can easily be soaked up in water or oil when preparing it which can spoil the whole recipe. 😊
Yes, any kind of Cassava can make. Provided you soak it well in the water for at least 12 hours before washing it. This is to remove the toxins from the cassava. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy the rest of the videos.
Wow. Raw cassava said to have cyanide which is toxic to humans when ingested. Please could you educate me more on this. I know for sure many other countries cook their cassava just like yam and eat it , but eating it raw, I have seen that. This cassava, is it a special type of cassava? Or the regular type?
@@jaynnahomecookings9179 the regular cassava. I was even surprised myself seeing that. They eat it raw, Cook like yam,fry it like akara, and even use the leafs to prepare stew for white rice.
My first abacha try was a total fail😂 so I was totally discouraged, but after seeing this video and realizing lots of things that I did wrong, I will definitely give it another shot
I am happy that the video was helpful to you. And thanks for subscribing to my channel too. I hope to put more useful content out there to help more people achieve their goals. Much love ❤️
I got it from China. It is quite cheap around 16rmb ( so approximately #3,500) . And it can last for years. I do help people buy things from China though, incase you would like to order something.
Hey dear, Thanks for tuning in, and thanks for the question. Okay, firstly, the back of the cassava helps to protect the main cassava from slipperiness after cooking, that is, it helps you to have a good or a firm hold of your cassava when grating. Secondly, boiling the cassava with the back(__peels) leaves it with a better texture, (like your ABACHA won't be watery or soft after boiling it). Of course, always remember not to overcook your cassava. it is better to have a half-done cassava than to have an overcooked cassava. You can always use hot water to Blanch it (the half-done) before soaking it in COLD WATER for hours to remove the cyanide. I wish you luck when you try it. lol
I have once tried using oven to dry it in one winter day, but it didn’t work out. I realized it was getting burnt so quickly even though the oven was on a low degree. So I would suggest you use FOOD DRYER MACHINE instead. In a situation where by you made the cassava on a rainy day, you can spread it in an open space inside the house, then channel a FAN OR HEATER towards it to dry it faster. These are some methods I have used that worked for me. Though the best option still remains ☀️ SUN DRYING ☀️🤓 It’s nice having you here.😀🥰
Je vais essayer et je te dirai si j'ai réussi ou pas 😁
