I as a dude used to have the same "oh I care about personality not looks" mentality when I was a teenager. But then I analyzed my own behaviour and realized that I was lying to myself to make myself feel like I was less shallow. What I actually meant when I said "I don't care about looks just personality" was that once a girl makes my minimum looks threshold, I don't care about looks, only personality. But if a girl didn't make my minimum looks threshold, I didn't even see her as an option. She was invisible to me from a relationship standpoint. So to give an example, if my minimum looks threshold is a 6 our of 10, and I have 3 girls, ones a 4, ones a 6 and ones an 8, I'll take whoever has the Better personality out of the 6 or the 8, but the 4 is never an option regardless of how good her personality is, at best, she's a friend. Many women think this exact way but I guess they lack the self awareness to figure it out. Or they know and don't want to expose themselves

My girlfriend had a toxic ex-boyfriend whose only trait was his looks. Aside from it, he was mostly unintelligent, unreasonable, manipulative, abusive and harmful. Women are friendlier, they smile more, they talk more, they are more physical. What you see is that a lot of men find a lot of women desirable and their behavior(good and bad) shows it. The lack of such a strong feed back from women does not mean women don't care about looks the most, it means that they find a lot of men are not attractive enough to generate a strong desirable feedback. This creates a massive imbalance in which women can be picky from their wealth of options, so they can demand more than just companionship and sex. I as a dude used to have the same "oh I care about personality not looks" mentality when I was a teenager. But then I analyzed my own behaviour and realized that I was lying to myself to make myself feel like I was less shallow.
What I actually meant when I said "I don't care about looks just personality" was that once a girl makes my minimum looks threshold, I don't care about looks, only personality. But if a girl didn't make my minimum looks threshold, I didn't even see her as an option. She was invisible to me from a relationship standpoint.
So to give an example, if my minimum looks threshold is a 6 our of 10, and I have 3 girls, ones a 4, ones a 6 and ones an 8, I'll take whoever has the Better personality out of the 6 or the 8, but the 4 is never an option regardless of how good her personality is, at best, she's a friend.
Many women think this exact way but I guess they lack the self awareness to figure it out. Or they know and don't want to expose themselves

My girlfriend had a toxic ex-boyfriend whose only trait was his looks. Aside from it, he was mostly unintelligent, unreasonable, manipulative, abusive and harmful. At one point she cut herself as the mental pain inflicted was too much, and he yelled at here calling her names and saying that she's mental. She stayed with him for 1.5 year despite of all that, eventually breaking up after the 2nd time he cheated on her (yes, she forgave him the first time).

I saw this in an anime so Ill portray it in real life. If the government pair every men and women of close to equal attractiveness together the men would be far less likely to complain. I wonder how much of women's self-report is due to a lack of self-awareness rather than a lie. My experience of women (and I'm a mental health counselor, so I get into a lot of intimate conversations) is that they don't really know what makes their own sexuality work. In addition, there is a study I remember where women had the same genital blood flow as men in response to pornography, but they reported little or no increase in sexual desire in response to viewing porn. This makes me think that it's possible that women are actually wired to NOT know what turns them on. I think that part of how human courtship works is that women present themselves as intermittently interested in men, so that they create a random intermittent reinforcement schedule to incentivize male resource provision. I have no data to support this, but it sure looks this way to me as my experience as an "average guy" is that women are not reliably interested in sex. I think that not being aware when they are turned on is part of female psychology, simply because it incentivizes this random intermittent reinforcement schedule in their relationships with their suitors.

Investing in financial things that pay compound interest over time are excellent. Women are a terrible investment in every way because they can afford to be terrible with money. As long as she takes care of her looks reasonably well they're always will be a sucker around the corner that's ready to treat her like a queen. If you can deal with women without having to spend much money cool your lucky but if your having to shell out tons of cash stop. Once you have built enough wealth you don't even have to spend it the status you project out into the world will be enough to get you action

I think women really do think they like personality more, and that's because average or below average guys are basically invisible to them, they don't enter into the equation. When they say they care more about personality, they're saying they'd prefer a 8/10 with an amazing personality over and 10/10 who's abusive. Lots of average guys will take it to mean "they don't care about looks at all and if I'm just a really good person they'll go for me." Then they go through life never making any progress because they believed women.

It's worth pointing out that this data for the first study was collected from 4 minute speed dating interactions. Hardly a fighting chance for personality to win over looks. I'm on board with the scientific approach but it would be useful to include an analysis of how the data was collected and analyzed and potential shortcomings (like you did in the later studies).

One day a director of nursing walked in from another nursing home and walked up to me among all the other nurses and asked me how much I was making. I told her (I was already making a decent salary)and after asking me a couple of easy questions said I could come work for her at 40% more than I was currently making. I could start the next day. Hi Wheat I would be interested to hear if you have any views on transgenderism (both males who transition to female, and the men who are attracted to them)? It does not strike me as a conincidence that the exponential increase in the number of people identifying as transgender also matches the exponential increase in female hypergamy. The simplistic interpretation would be that men are unable to find girlfriends and instead choose to "become" the girlfriend as a coping mechanism. As for men who are attracted to transgender women, it would be a case of having no options with cisgender women and therefore having their biological instincts "tricked" by a male who superficially appears female. I would be interested in hear your take on this though because I don't feel satisfied that this is the only explanation.

I totally agree with this. I had one girl working at same place I worked. I had a massive crush on this gal and I finally confessed. She friend zoned me initially but after she became a widow she told she likes me too. Eventually bitch realized how she can pull men from dating apps and get free rides and meals she ignored me completely. She was fat and below average with double chin. Honestly 3/10 but once she understood how easy it is for her to date people she fully ignored me. I mean even ugly girls can pull men who are above average and rich. Dating out there is doomed
I think that women actually legitimately think that looks are personality. And looks don't exist. Halo effect and all that.
trust me, they don't.. I have had good-looking women give me the biggest smiles and laughs on dates in my 20's and I was definitely not more than a 6/10... Re: The end about overweight women and thinner men. When I was in my senior years in high school in the mid 90s (and this was before you were born Wheat! ;-) ) I saw this quite frequently. I saw couples where the girl had a significantly higher BMI than her partner and, on some occasions was even obese. What's more, some of the guys they were dating, although not "chads" were facially actually decent looking normies with slender physiques. Not just average Joes. Now, I am talking about adolescents 25+ years ago in their mid-late teens ! Go figure these stats today !

The ambition thing is true. I remember upon discovering the blackpill I got depressed and lost all motivation to study in college. I used to sit in the front row of the amphitheater. Now I sit all the way back and a girl that showed interest no longer seem to respect me anymore. Ugly men are kinda blessed, peaceful life is a good life. I’m in the bottom percentile of men. I’m about 2 out of 10 on a good day. Never dated and I know exactly why, was depressed for a long time. Now I realize I’m very lucky. People don’t use ne and my life is simple and peaceful. Playing games, working just doing things I enjoy 😊

As a non-BPer I quite like this channel. 🙂 I think that usually guys _think_ more about looks than girls, or at least they _verbalize_ it more often. That's probably why we tend to believe that guys care more about looks (which in some sense is true). But I also realized that when a guy says "she's hot" it usually means quite little, since the "hotness threshold" is often quite low... so I understand it as "she's at least average".
