What kind of metal did you use for the blade edge? I have some old lawnmower blades, will that work as a high carbon steel bit for the blade? Thank you
Awesome stuff. I can die a happy man in South Africa when I get hopefully one day an authentic US made/ forged tomahawk. Not a mass produced store bought kind.
@@CaseyArmsChannel thank you very much! It looks like a great drift. I didn’t realize they made pipe tomahawks from actual gun barrels back in the day? Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
If you're making him one, I'll have one too. I'm of Heiltsuk, Nu7lhalk, Tsleiwituth and Zuni decent. Two light jabs and a right hook were the extent of my bouts and wasn't allowed to compete in our school bouts after three goes.
this is awsome. I have made a few pipe hawks out of ball peen hammers but have always wanted to have a go at making one from a gun barrel. what were the dimensions of the barrel you used?
Beautiful work! I didn't see any hawks hovering on Etsy; any chance you'll be posting some soon?
..if he doesn't like it then he can't be pleased. Outstanding craftsmanship sir...!
Thank you! This is the video I've been looking for for years to make an awesome gift for some very special people again thank you so much

Awesome work Daniel! What did you use for the finish on that handle?
Tru Oil by Birchwood Casey is my go to oil for handles. Thanks for watching!

I used 1084 spring steel for the blade edge if I remember correctly.
Lawnmower blades are a bit too low in carbon for me.
that is absolutely beautiful Sir Daniel. Outstanding all the way around.
