That ram at 6:55 and 9:32 (upper right corner) is amazing! Among Bighorn aficionados, Yellowstone has a reputation for smallish rams with less-than-stellar horns, but he is a wonderful exception! He is every bit as huge as some of the trophy-class rams found in the more northern parts of Montana.
That’s really interesting info Tom. I didn’t know about the parks reputation for not having the big trophy rams. I guess we got lucky that year! And yes, I love that big bruiser… He was obviously quite old and had many battle scars.
Love this compilation! Was so glad to hear at the end, that you plan to do a "Fall Favorite Locations". We will hold you to that! PS - thanks for mapping and showing some detail. And I always wondered where they took the duck hunting bobcat photos that we all drool over.
@@SparkyStensaas Ok... holding you to the "Fall Video" Sparky! I think I can still fit a fall trip in this year. Hoping to get some great ideas from your upcoming video!
A great compilation, Sparky; well done. I would have thought at that time of year, you would have had the place all to yourselves. But, you’re right, the Lower Falls did have a distinctly Japanese look to it. 😊
It’s funny because when we started going to Yellowstone in the fall back in 2009 we basically did have the park to ourselves except for the hard-core elk photographers. But now in both early spring and late fall campgrounds are full.
Interesting to hear about the lack of interest in the mountain bluebirds. I thought the soft snowy vertical framed image was the most striking of the video.
Thanks Tom! You know I kind of forgot about that photo until I was researching the stills for this episode. I might look at that again and see how big the file is. You are right… It would make a great LARGE print.
My son and I went to Yellowstone in the summer of 22. It was amazing. It's like the land that time forgot. Those Rams are ellusive..we didn't see one while we were there. I guess cause they stay up on the mountain. Awesome pics and video. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to get back there
Awesome video of the wildlife in one of our most beautiful national parks - I see for this year you had to put together a retrospective video. Quick reminder. Our national parks have been quietly handed over to Corporate America and it's quickly turning them all into cash cows. So, if you shoot video in any of the parks from now on and then post on social media without purchasing an expensive permit. Big Brother will hunt you down and slap you with a big fine. - So Sad😢. Sparky, hope you don't mind if I add this link to Park Junkie's post about whats been going on behind our backs. It's full of information that many are still completely unaware of.........th-cam.com/video/iXCaBqC14jk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qqi3mpQtBPfC680N - Thanks again Sparky
Thanks for the link. I understand the reasons for the permit system for commercial filming and I also understand that the NPS are rarely going to go after anybody who’s just posting to TH-cam. I think it’s a letter of the law versus the intent or spirit of the law deal. I’m not worried about it. I’ve posted many videos over the years from our national parks. I highly doubt they have the resources to go after small fish like me they are strapped just maintaining day-to-day operations sadly.
Kinda makes me miss the place… a fun look back for sure👍
A lot of Ryan cameos in that episode! Certainly some very good times.
So fun to watch! Great shots and well put together. Thank you, Sparky!
Thank you, Deb!
The Grizzly Bear made this video for me truly an incredible animal!
I agree! Griz are humbling creatures.
Loved the Mountain Bluebirds! That was the bird that first got me obsessed with birds when I was a kid! Great video!
Your “trigger bird“! I love them too. Especially in the snow!

So beautiful! Nature at it's finest. Thanks for sharing. I only wish I could have been there too!
Thank you cool kitty!
Thanks for taking us along!
You are so welcome, Aurora!
That's awesome! I agree that you shouldn't "leave fish to find fish." Thanks so much for sharing your great images with me!
So true! Thanks for watching Jon!
Really enjoyed this video, thanks.
Thank you! I am working hard on the fall Yellowstone hotspots video now. Hope to have it out in the next few weeks.

Hi Kelly, Yes! Hold me to it. Hopefully I’ll have it out in August.

Hey Sparky! I agree. Spring in Yellowstone would be a great place to be. Thanks for sharing.
You bet Terry! Don’t think I’m gonna make it this spring, but maybe next spring…
@@SparkyStensaas Time Spring gets here, it will be summer.
Great video, Sparky! Lots of fun creatures in Yellowstone that we don’t have here in MN. I have always wanted to see a mountain bluebird. Some day!
They are really stunning Augie. Hope you get to see one someday!
Beautiful,just awesome
Thanks for watching Shree!

I love that photo too, Jeffrey! Thanks for your thoughts.
your landscape image at 17:24 is superlative! It would look great printed HUGE!

What a great experience and memories you’ve created with your son, John! I like your description… The land that time forgot… Absolutely!
Hey sparky, any shots of eagles?
We’ve seen eagles there, but haven’t spent much time pursuing them. We have so many in Minnesota!
