ദൃശ്യം എന്ന സിനിമക്ക് കഥയുടെ മർമ്മം ലഭിക്കുന്നത് 1993 ൽ മലപ്പുറത്ത് നടന്ന ഒരു കൊലപാതകത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ്: ചേകന്നൂർ മൗലവിയുടെ കൊലപാതകം നടത്താൻ ഒരു സമുദായ കാരണവർ കണ്ടെത്തിയ വഴിയാണ് ഈ സിനിമയുടെ കഥയുടെ തോട്ട്!
ഒരു സംഘത്തെ കൊണ്ട് മൗലവിയെ കൊല ചെയ്തു മലപ്പുറത്ത് ചുവന്ന കുന്നിൽ കുഴിച്ചിടുന്നു, കുഴിച്ചിട്ടവരറിയാതെ മൃതദേഹം മറ്റൊരു സംഘത്തെ കൊണ്ട് എടുത്തുമാറ്റി കല്ലുകെട്ടി കടലിൽ താഴ്ത്തുന്നു. ഇതാണ് ചേകന്നൂർ മൗലവിയുടെ തിരോധാനം.
കേസ് അന്വേഷിച്ച സിബിഐ വ്യക്തമായി കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഈ അന്വേഷണം കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പത്രങ്ങളിലും അക്കാലത്ത് വന്നതാണ്. അത് വായിച്ച് ഇൻസ്പിരേഷൻ ഉണ്ടായ ജിത്തു എന്ന എഴുത്തുകാരൻ അതിനെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിച്ചു.

പടം കണ്ടു കിടിലം പടം ഒരു നല്ലസിനിമ കണ്ടു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ള സന്തോഷം അതു വരെ തന്നെയാ പിന്നീടുള്ള ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പ്രേക്ഷകർ ഇരച്ചു കയറുകയായിരുന്നു
ജീത്തു ജോസഫ് എന്ന തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തും സംവിധായകനും മലയാളികളുടെ മനസ്സിൽ സ്ഥാനം പിടിച്ചതും ആ സിനിമ കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ

ഇതിൽ പറഞ്ഞ മൊത്തം ഇന്റർഫറൻസ് ഉണ്ടായ സിനിമ Body ആണ്. ബോളിവുഡിൽ വലിയ സ്റ്റാർസിനും സ്റ്റുഡിയോസിനും അവരുടേത് ആയ ഒരു ടെക്നിക്കൽ ടീമും സ്‌ക്രിപ്റ്റ് കണ്സള്ട്ടൻസിയും ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടാവും. സ്റ്റാറിന് വേണ്ട രീതിയിൽ നിയതമായ ഒരു സ്റ്റൈലിൽ അവരാണ് ഡയറക്ഷൻ മാനേജ് ചെയ്യുക. പലപ്പോഴും സംവിധായകൻ സൗത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ളതും പുതുമുഖവും ഒക്കെ ആണെങ്കിൽ നോക്കുകുത്തി ആവേണ്ടി വരും. അവരുടെ ഒരു സ്റ്റൈൽ കീപ് ചെയ്യാൻ ആണിത്. ബോഡിഗാർഡ് ചെയ്തപ്പോ സിദ്ദിഖിനും ഇതേ അനുഭവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്.

As someone who enjoyed both the novel and its Korean adaptation, I can assure you that it has no identical elements with drishyam. The only common story thread is the murder cover-up, which is more of a trope than a plot in movies. Also they take very different approaches in storytelling.
