It's still a good start na nililinis nila un lugar sa mga illegal settlers and unti unti nire restore ang old buildings. Un cables na salasalabat maybe soon aalisin nila. Malaking bagay n maalis sa simula illegal settlers sa lugar ng Tondo at Binondo para maging first class tourists area uli ang Manila

That district can be made spectacular if they really put their hearts and minds into it. Here in Europe, Old Districts are always well maintained, hence, the tourists come in droves in tens of thousands each year. The local government can smarten up the surrounding areas, bury those ugly cables, put more street lights, put coffee shops and corner shops, etc. Imagine, that area can compete with the best of the best in the world, not just in Asia.

Yung mga kawad ng kuriente/telco at random parked vehicles lang talaga ang panira sa view. Kay ganda sana nyan kung maimproved, lagyan ng restos, coffeeshops, boutiques etc.. parang sa Europe.

Sana din marenovate ang El Hogar kasi kung magiging hotel ang Old Pacific, di magiging pleasant sight sa mga clients ng hotel ang katabing ruins ng El Hogar ...but still good to know and see na slowly improving ang side na yan ng Manila❤

Hopefully ma-restore ang mga old buildings sayang na sayang pwede pang mapakinabangan ang mga yan maraming pang pwedeng gawin sa mga yan... just like Europe na preserved nila yong mga ganyan.. mas attractive pa nga tignan yan kasi may design.. kaysa sa makabagong mga building.. mas gusto ko yong old. Maganda ang manila sana kung naayos lang at malinis.. at sana matanggal ang mga wire sa mga poste kung pwede sa under ground na nila mailagay mas masmagiging maaliwalas tignan.. sana planohin nila na maging maayos kayang kaya naman kung gugustuhin talaga.🙏

El Hogar has this Crown Building vibe in New York, having those large windows as window displays. Hope the Luna bldg. owner acquire El Hogar as their hotel extension.
Thanks for the update. So the old Pacific Commercial is the one turning into a hotel. I was hoping it would be El Hogar Filipino. Pac Com looks more like a government or office building. I guess El Ho will have to wait a little bit longer for her turn at reincarnation. The street looks amazing - removing the trash and the vagrants has made "Muelle de la Industria" actually match its name. They should also do something about those messy power lines overhead. That's an accident waiting to happen.
sana ma restore mga lumang buildings dyan, isang taon ako nagtrabaho dyan, from quiapo papuntang world trade bldg araw araw ako naglalakad, araw araw din ako na aamaze sa ganda. sana gawin nang ala hollywood studio yang lugar na yan. araw araw yata may shooting dyan.
Parang yung ginawa sa Fullerton Building sa Singapore na itinayo noong 1928 nagsilbing General Post Office na ngayon ay The Fullerton Hotel na nasa Marina Bay tabi ng Merlion sa bunganga ng Singapore River.

Snippet: E-report sa MMDR na ang EL Hogar Bldg needs immediate renovation -- before she falls apart and altogether disintegrates on the ground. We have to learn to preserve old or ancient Infrastructures that are still with us today -- as they contribute to our country's ancestral history. The work must start fairly soon -- it appears the bldg is already badly deteriorating. sana pag na irestore yung mga heritage buildings dyan sa Muelle de la Industria especially yung El Hogar, magtayo pa ng maraming al fresco cafes, bars, restaurants n bistros para magkaroon ng European ambience katulad sa Latin Quarter ng Paris alongside the river Seine, para maging bagong tourist attraction n destination malapit sa Chinatown....ang Escolta pwede i revive by having branded boutique stores , more cafes, restaurants n hotels....n sana yung mga future buildings ay idunod yung architectural design na Neo Classical or a fusion of modern n Neo Classical designs using big grilled arch windows n columns, etc...w/c could become once again the "Paris of Asia" as Manila was once known before the WW2...

Tingnan mo naman iyong mga power lines. No matter how glorious a restoration will be -- kung nandidiyan pa oyong mga ELECTRIC hazards - it's not worth it rin. Pero ang hirap diyan so dalawang propiedad na iyan -- even if they tear down and put it entirely new buildings, #1 -- walang frontage for a green apron there plus #2 -- saan kukuha ng parking spots for arrivals & VIP parking? So, with all the open, ew spaces in BGC, Taguig, Ortigas, Pasig, QC, bakit diyan mag-poposigue ang new investments?
